  1. Sure to feature in the quiz tomorrow . Was gunna do some Super S trotters then. Bet you remember his sensational little Aussie opponent Davis. She might be about tomorrow as well lol....About Sir Castletons size, and they nearly quinellaed 3 trotting Interdominion Grand Finals. Had a great bit of rivalry.
  2. Yes , conquered them in the West in the 2016 Interdominion GF as Lazarus did the following year too for Marky Boy.
  3. Q3/ Still have this one to nail , Q3/ now adding a 2nd part Part B/ which Stablemate might run 2nd ? as he has done on 2 occasions already. and this one ............... Q8/ clue.........A great stable-mate of the above 2 horses . And the Aussies. might be a bit too tricky as even though winning many Group 1's in Australia these guys didn't go that well in NZ. Q9 Trigger did, he had NZ Cup placings.
  4. Greyhound has scored in the quiz today with 1. Soangetaha, one of Derek Jones best 70 odd years ago. 2. Stanley Rio , for the Noble family winning the Interdominion GF in Brisbane in the 70's 4. Stella Frost , promoted to 1st in that famous Addington Interdominion 5. Sole Command, Wolfie already a legend then , but with Roy Purdon engaging him too, well that just says Winner winner chicken dinner !! 6. Jack Smolenski correct , but who is his 'lesser light' star S horse, of the 70's apart from Arapaho ?? 7. Sapling , a lot of 2nds, yes the trailing Wolfie on Rondel mowed him down late 1979 at Addington GF. 8. In-correct . Was thinking a more recent horse Mark conquered many with on both sides of the Tasman.
  5. Well just realised by trying to cut short have missed the 'S' for Super S horses that rate a mention. There are some real beauties . so rather than 'S for Slump' back into vaccination talk on threads will run with Pacers today and trotters tomorrow for a Super S Saturday and Sunday. can you name these greats ? Q1/ quiz horse that was a favourite of the late great Derek Jones. may have named his stables after him? Q2/ This bloke was a big race specialist bred in Tassie , as were his training driving team, but definitely repping for NZ as he thundered to a big victory or 2. (a big win in QLD ironically) Q3/ Winner of the 2022 Nz Trotting Cup (95% confident lol) Q4/ This mare Gained great benefit from an Aussie testing positive and so was promoted to immortality? Q5/ 2 Legends combined in Roy and Wolfie to rack up big wins with this bloke ? Q6/ Jack S was unlucky to take on Quinny a few times with this 'flashy' maned horse. nearly upset Young Quinn in a big one, but was mowed down late. Who is Jack? who is his flashy steed? Q7/ From the deep south this bloke had to take on the Lady at Auckland, and Lord Module 2 and did a good job of it and had his big moment taken away at the last minute by Wolfie driving Rondel. Q8/ From a great barn, this bloke went all the way to Perth and 'S' for Smacked all the great Aussies that turned up for a big NZ win. Some Aussies to taste Victory !! but mainly defeat in NZ are ..... Q9/ Trigger was another Aussie like Junior's Image to have a DQ after a big NZ win . Who is he? Q10/ Lance Justice also tried to win an Inter with another 'S' horse in NZ , winning a heat at Akld. who? Q11/ Lance's brother John Justice had a great Victorian S horse that flopped in 4 NZ runs? Q12/ Another Turnbull horse , a 'Double S' horse, had a crack also failing in NZ at an Interdom , but Won the grandFinal at his home track in NSW in another year. Good Luck !! have a crack at one , or 2 or 3 or any of those and see how you go ????
  6. Lots of those Big horses or Long striding 'good' horses hit the foot-rests when streching out in full flight. Quite Famous here Top Right, had to have the actual Sulky shafts lifted to get the foot-rests out of the way. Note the different shape compared to the other sulky's in this montage of Vinnys , Vic's or Village Kid's.
  7. Week 2 of the Constellations , and this bloke got the draw to win again.? Here is the 'Mr Feelgood' Field. And What a Cracker NZ line-up !!! inject in some MORE KIWI talent Mach Shard, Cruz Bromac (an Nz Cup Winner), I Cast No Shadow, and Triple Eight this week !! fantastic. 10 kiwi's in It !!! better than Addington lol.... The Aussies still just ONLY be relying on Majestic Cruiser (and Rockin Marty) to Win This One. The $300,000 Rising Sun , also on the program this Saturday night, has no kiwis in it ??? but the Best horse in Aus has a mortgage on it anyway "LEAP TO FAME". 2022 GOLD COAST TURF CLUB MR FEELGOOD OPEN (G3) 2138M $31,768 No NR. 8. Yes Greyhound , Ranga and yourself are all excellent with your harness horses. and identifying them. Your 6 answers spot on once again. Saw these 6 beautiful horses race many times and am very fond of all them. Thorate , Westburn Grant, Village Kid and Yankee Loch all winning Interdominons . Quite Famous 5th in a GF and also won the Addington Interdominion consolation (with his stablemate LB taking victory 👍) and ......... Popular Alm there with Vinny. perhaps the best of them , but only came up with 2 Interdominion Grand Final placings instead of the win . Vinny himself, drove in 10 Grand Finals in a row , and didn't win one !!! one of the great anomalies IMO.
  9. Well will cut the quiz days off with a 'P' at party pooper day as was told the quizes sucked lol.... oh well i tried 🙄. Let's go Out with a 'bang 💣' then and pop up on P, Q, T, V, W, and Y horse's today. Six of my favourites of all time , and even got to sit behind a couple of them. great bit of history some of these. Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, Q5 and Q6 all in one photo. ! Brilliant.. These great champs (all 6 horses) all crossed the Tasman to (or left) Nz winning on both sides of the ditch....
  10. and Q2/ This mare is in very elite company. There were SIX inaugural Inductees into the New Zealand Trotting Hall of Fame. Cardigan Bay, Caduceus, Highland Fling, Harold Logan, Johnny Globe and this mare ? a surprise inclusion.
  11. O, O, O, dear it's O day. here we go with a great runner. Nz Bred , Aus trained , won Interdominions in both countries, does it get any better than that ?
  12. Have been informed that what horses have done in the past doesn't really matter. It's only what is happening in the present/future that really matters.Thought for a moment, it was very exciting to see all the kiwi horses there and the Nz audience would be excited to see them take on the Aussies and win some stakes here. so am certainly a little (a lot) deflated , as have come to realise after conversation tonight, whatever the 8 NZ horses in this Wondai's Mate open race tonight did in their New Zealand careers matters 'nought' to anyone as now out of sight and out of mind to the public, as not many historians or Interdominionist's around anymore. a dying breed 😩. well back to the footy then I guess . result was 5-4-10 for the one interested....
  13. Sorry mate... no offence was intended . honestly I do find some stuff funny (un-like some usually posting other places more than here) .. I wasn't gunna post on this topic at all actually as knew this would happen..... Always think it's funny what people think are big bets and what aren't , and where they should put them lol 😅, I've seen a few go off the rails in my time. Thankfully I retired with common sense Not prepared to waste $1000 on a horse race lol... and No i'm Not convinced that $20 starts a landslide of bets either but "Whatever" as the teens say lol. am surprised that some don't enjoy the history of the sport on a harness forum but live and learn I guess ? tried and failed it seems lol. Maybe thats why the Alex Park museum runs empty too lol.... because life rule for all followers of any sport/job/activity/country etc.. should be......................................................... " if You Haven't Got History What have You Got ??"
  14. Not many bet that amount in one go Brodster. You lose the enjoyment for the sport. It bacomes ALL about the money only , and you start cursing bad luck/ results and drivers etc.... I watch most races WITHOUT investment because I enjoy the racing. The achievements in the sport ,etc. Notice you didn't post on the Harness greats quiz, probably because you don't respect the achievements, just the stupid money. Allstars deserve more respect than what they get from disgruntled punters. Near best in World . you should be impressed . instead it's "oh just another race I couldn't Win a dollar on" . that's sad mate......
  15. I do wish you could get the bets on you wish . (I really do) but have No Tab influence. best of luck to you and any punter , that is trying to get a Win. I just say there is No way you could have those bets $500 or more you say a small , and Still Enjoy the Sport. Very hard for the average punter to recover from a $500 miss Brodster ?? I have a strategy where I use $500 total per week , and irt works fine. (although Blasted 'Zac De Boss' just ran 4th and let me down lol.... but won his last 2 for me ok. Just better value and running LUCK in those gallops than NZ trots . quite happy to back ALLstars though !!!!!!!!!! they make their own luck lol....... good QLD girl lol.....
  16. I thought you said you could with all these massive place bets ? I only back horses like Majestic Man that I know a good and give you a run for your money EVERYtime. Start backing maidens and your quote here is DEAD TRUE. (I just back Victorian Saturday gallops usually) But just now backed ARAPAHO to win Caloundra Cup !! What a great name . A former NZ CUP winnner for Jack. Alas it ran 2nd .😪
  17. It is to most mate. You should try and face that reality ???
  18. Yes it does ! you wrote about $20 effecting the price the TAB is offering as the bets are placed. EXACTLY what I wrote about. I wrote to Chief as he is CORRECT . YOU are Not the only one placing bets . How you think you manipulate the tote price is quite funny. I live on the punt . I know how it works. I think you and Davis can select quite well actually. Brodie ?? nah who puts big bets a place (because not confident of picking winners for starters ) at $1000 on ones paying $2 a place or more ? no-one is the answer. AND if you did the MANY unplaced runs would make you that bitter with the sport, that you'd go mad ?? wait a minute , !!!!!!!!! he is bitter with .................................. everyone ? lol..................
  19. Good Grief . If $20 could shift a market 'everytime' hahaha there would be plenty of market manipulating going on. If someone puts a bet on and the price drops a dollar , there's a mad rush ? hahahah to get on that horse. Guess some one that would want to have $50 on their 'Real' selection, are best advised to do 2 dummy $20's on a couple of double figure other runners in the race to start the stampede on them then ? hahaha someone must of had $100 on Kharess last night and started a migration of money lol.. good for us MM supporters anyway.
  20. To find an Aussie N horse in Nz racing in todays N quiz ....... Q3/ Well one nice Aussie 'N' trotter did re-locate to Nz after winning about 30 out of 50 Australian races. Dave Gibbons even then took him to 3rd in an Interdominion Grand Final but never ran a place again in it's career afterwards. Who was he?
  21. Nigel Craig Breaking the 2.00 min barrier in a Time Trial at Addington. The first time a trotter had ever achieved that feat in Nz or Aus. Petite Evander , one of his main rivals , time trialled in Auckland a month later, to be the first mare to break 2 minutes in 1.59.8. They had a Special match race after that and ran 2.10 just walking along !!!! lol. no more match races after that lol....
  22. A Better photo of this great trotter in action.
  23. No Response with one of the great finishes from back in the field ever seen in a feature race, winning the Interdominion Trot Final at Addington. Q2/ Horse 2 then is another classy trotter. What is happening in this photo? Who is it ? why is it special ?
  24. Well 'N' day is here in the first letter of name Quiz. First cab off the rank today we have Q1/ yesterdays 2 Aussie flops that the Horseman named at Addington on the previous post here, was nearly made up for by the gallent efforts of 2 old Aussie trotters Albey Logan and Silken in the trotters division that year. BUT 2nd and 3rd was there lot as one of the best finishing runs (and cool, cold calculated drives) and late surge, sent this N horse sailing on by .......... who was it ?
