  1. Madame Shinko Lee Tiley Te Rapa At a guess Hayden Allen leading her, it's too skinny for me and I never took her to Te Rapa.
  2. I'd be sure it won't be slippery, it's been raining including some heavy downpours here in Masterton since 4am and they were expecting more than us down there. Stupid thing is they are not inspecting the track until tomorrow afternoon when there are plenty of Northern horses entered who would need to be leaving in the morning...maybe to big a task for NZTR staff on a Sunday morning to get out of bed early and go look
  3. That will definitely be the final nail in the coffin.
  4. Maybe white but he is still a Maori, and no he is NOT lazy as witnessed when I stayed at his place for a couple of days last week and he didn't stop working that whole time... it didn't rain though
  5. Maybe Shaun could put a claim in and get his $800 back...
  6. He's a Maori himself ffs, way over kill the whole story. Maybe a warning and move on.
  7. Yep. They should add a meeting in midweek CD next week, they will get full fields if they do. Only Hastings Saturday with no maiden or low grade racing there.
  8. That is actually right, you're reading it wrong. The Winton runs were 2018, then 2019 etc. It is the year not the day, seems to be the case for older form lines.
  9. I watched the first 6 or so races and thought it was good racing, better than I predicted to be honest, I expected leaders to kick off the turn and give other no chance from behind. Sure it will have its place. Still love the wet tracks during winter that gives a different pool of horses and training types their day in the sun.
  10. I think what your looking at is the time of last update and not a reading. You'll see 'am' below it.
  11. Not poor noms, stipes have said the track is too firm to be running jump races.
  12. Could get a job on the pak n save ads.
  13. I didn't quite do the google drive around but certainly learnt a lot about the island on looking it up. Looks like a cool carnival to go to, might put it on the bucket list behind the 'bool'. How great are these random carnivals in remote places, same here with the Coast circuit, Gisborne and Wairoa meetings and the two days at Blenheim.
  14. They do have series, final was at Hawkes Bay last year and winning rider invited to Dubai(I think) to compete. Tauherenikau always have a pony race on the card, and the one at the beach races always draws a big field(much to the once a year commentators disliking). Only thing I don't like about the pony race is it's just a dash of 2 or 300 meters, be nice to see them actually have to try and ride a race on them not just foot down and run.
  15. You're wrong.
  16. It wouldn't be the full 800gms though because when they weigh out there is always 300 or 400 grace they are allowed. Who is really at fault for allowing him to ride at that weight anyway, stipes made the rule so really it should fall back on them shouldn't it for not picking it up and saying no you cant do that when acceptances come out and he was declared.
  17. Channel 200 on freeview
  18. I thought the same thing, thought they could do something big with this. However I asked someone from either NZtr or the club, I forget now who. But remembering them saying it was a disaster and waste of money as they come along and ate all the food stuck around for a race and all left.
  19. What is interesting is how that horse is in two races on saturday and not on the ballot in either yet there are horses on the ballot not in other races.
  20. There is 4 or 5 harness races as well so still a big day. The 12-15000 people that'll be there would not be going to any other race meeting so better off giving them some racing than none at all.
  21. I don't agree with that. 99% of the people who go to these meetings wouldn't know if they were watching a match race between Gingernuts and Te Akau Shark or a Maiden 2000 meter race,or even if they are farm hacks . They are there for the day out and social occasion and the quality of the product is irrelevant. It's more important the clubs get everything else right, the beer cold, food nice and the toilets clean.
