  1. I just can’t work out why it was only relegated to second, who’s to say by breaking the rule it was only the horse it dead heated with was the only one that it would have beaten. Not saying that I agree or disagree with the rule however. But think it maybe should be disqualified and not relegated if they are taking this approach… if a rider took an electrical device and won the race I’m sure it would be disqualified not relegated.
  2. That's the big issue, no one wants to go. Was it even advertised that there is a race meeting there today, I mean to those who don't follow the game religiously and would know it's on. I'm in the 'greater Wellington region' and certainly no advertising on radio or print media on our side of the ranges. I had thought about going over, getting a few mates for a day out but the price of booze and below average food isn't exactly a good selling point for my casual race follower mates.
  3. Yep Don still with us, I’ve had a couple in work for him lately, the last Hula Dann but unfortunately he wasn’t go to make it, lovely big horse but didn’t have the brain for it. His other one just out having a bit of spring grass and she will be back in soon, nice filly who is a chance.
  4. Most would scratch, I have kept two wet trackers going just in hope of a wet Woodville, certainly wouldn’t be taking them to the synthetic.
  5. I hope it isn’t the end, it’s my favourite week of the year but it does need something changed to carry on. I’d move the GN hurdle to the last day some any maideners can go around early in the week and have a crack at it if the come through first or second day ok. My one this year a classic example of that, we would have rolled the dice and had a go after a tidy enough race. Need to have some jump racing leading into the carnival, even if this is all at Riccarton
  6. Thought I had seen him whilst leading my one around the birdcage in the first race. Then thought it must have been someone else because I would have thought the minister for racing would have actually wandered around the horse stalls area talking to participants and getting a feel from people who are involved in the industry.
  7. Let's get in on this then, sounds easy. I'll find a horse or two, someone else run the syndicate.
  8. I stayed in Foxton last night, no chance you could do anything on that track, it was under water.
  9. Who do I send my float bill to if that happens?
  10. Pretty wet but in great order as always. The whole place is so well kept and tidy, I love going there...ashame my ponys didn't think the same today 🤦‍♂️
  11. Should pick up now the weather is turning, been hard to get mileage into them. Was 60 horses go around at Levin Point to point last week and been a fair few schooling at other places as well.

    AWT

    🥱💤
  13. Haven't heard anyone that is excited about it that's for sure.
  14. Two of them nope, one maybe the Riccarton one.
  15. Wise move to decide to pull pin early so we could nominate and go to Otaki instead. I had two or three I had considered for Woody but wouldn't run if they had no rain and it isn't looking likely.
  16. Woodville, one of the best Autumn/winter tracks around that hardly gets used.
  17. No effort at all. Too bad I you have a low rated horse and finally get a suitable race and expect a good run. Probably end up sitting on the ballot now for a month and wonder why we get fucked off and lose interest.
  18. Time the place was closed to racing. The AWT that I haven't heard anyone I know that will run there horses on? My two that were in tomorrow wouldn't have gone to the all weather, i've been waiting for a wet track!
  19. 1986 I think, we were still having trials until 1998 or 99 I think it was, I remember wagging school and missing the mock English exam so I could go and watch them, had been helping out at the stables in the morning before school at the time. Still an outstanding training track, so good having the Course Proper with the big straight to educate them.
  20. You're missing out on a lot of fun trying to catch a few of those.
  21. Yeah, I haven't been in one for years but you walk past them and not a very attractive sort of place are they. I've thought for a while now a better option would be to tag on to lotto and be able to top up TAB account there or put a bets on, would also be a chance more people might get involved as people who are just a once or twice a year bettor might decide to have a bet whilst getting there weekly lotto on a Saturday morning.
  22. and by Zed... she would win a Grand National if they targeted it. Freak
  23. Pick 6 is still going, but they are always terminating and don't jackpot. I never bother with them any more but would always look at having a go when they jackpotted, either code. I would love to see a bet type where it is hard to get and can keep jackpoting for weeks on end, triple trio didn't quite make the cut here but what about a quinella in 5 races in a row or pick the whole card. Just something to get some big pools to get people coming back in to the TAB and getting involved.
  24. Hayden passed away 7 years ago yesterday, how time flys by. I lived with him for 5 years, geez we had some good times. The apprentice was Renee Fraser, won on her on debut at Otaki, I took her over and knew leading her in the birdcage she would win, just had so much presence about her, paid about $30s from memory. Geez we got boozed on the truck on the way home!
