  1. Wow, I didn't realize how much things have changed. Time for management to become proactive and look at some options. I enjoy the southern guineas trifecta, and have wondered for some time if there's an option for something similar with the two year olds.
  2. I agree. Southland and Canterbury are the two main centres who get the pick of the dates. But surely Forbury can do better than the current situation. I think Saturday afternoon is a good option, or even twilight meetings. But Thursday evening in the middle of June is no fun.
  3. Good fields and stakes for Saturday's meeting. I am curious about the lack of feature 2 year old racing in the south. Apart from Riccartons Welcome stakes, there is nothing that stands out. Is there no demand or interest? How does this flow on to next season's three year olds.?
  4. I don't understand the racing dates at Forbury. Over summer the days are long and fine and warm. But no racing at Forbury. But come winter when the nights are long, cold and miserable, we get night racing .All seems back to front. Can anyone offer an explanation?
  5. A strike needs to be some sort of unifying rally cry. But judging by the disharmony and acrimony that exists on these sites, I would say that is impossible.
  6. Just a personal passion of mine, but I do love clubs like Reefton, run by enthusiastic locals.,..rather than bigger clubs with full time staff, and then problems occur .
  7. That's a shock. I dropped my choccy biscuit in my coffee.

    CD harness

I am surprised it has lasted as long as it has, particularly as that land is in a great spot for new housing. You would certainly think that it's days must be numbered
  9. I grew up just a few hundred metres from the harness raceway in Palmy. And I look at it now, and it makes me sad. The facilities are still pretty basic, the fields are held together by Michael House and co. And I wonder where is it headed? What's it vision, plan for the future...or just exist as is??
  10. Terrific fields going round on the grass this Saturday. 12 races, about 170 acceptances. Any tips would be appreciated .

Majestic Man's run was strange. I thought at one stage Brad was going over to drive, but obviously not. He knows the horse well .
  12. So she keeps telling me!!!!!
  13. Forgetting to buy the cream when she who must be cherished has repeatedly asked you to remember....not a good idea.

And just as a P S. Matty gets five wins for the day. Well done lad .
  15. At the end of the day, if someone wants to sponsor a race and put up the cash, good on them, that's their call. For the bulk of Jill and Joe Public, I bet they don't really care. There are more important issues....like why did I forget to buy the cream?

Great result today for the connections of Monty Python. A grand campaigner, and well driven Matty.
  17. I find it disturbing that there is some type of celebrity status being attached to breaking the law.
  18. The law is the law. If you don't agree with it, lobby the appropriate people to have it changed. Until then, obey the law or face the consequences. It all quite easy .
  19. As long as we don't get the "Jacinda Ardern" classic.
  20. Two meetings in the north this week, total nominations 180. Three meetings in the south this week, total nominations 577. And I get berated when I oppose closing clubs( both codes) where local interest is high, to support big city clubs.Grrr.
  21. Three big races on the card at Wingatui and all three go to Team Parsons. Well done.
  22. Agree. It goes for their colleagues at Forbury Park too.
  23. Good sized fields for Wingatui on Saturday. Just curious to know when was the last time the Dunedin cup and White Robe lodge stakes had increases in prize money??
  24. I agree. Loyalty is a highly commendable quality. All respect to him.
  25. He's ahead fair and square. Good luck to him. And were these same questions asked, when the likes of Walker and co., led the premiership.?
