  1. Personally I'd love greyhounds racing if it keeps going is have them running round and round until last one standing.
  2. You talk about winning life changing amounts as in lotto, racing don't really have anything, it's not the seventies anymore, that $100 double just wont go far anymore and quantity over quality, I think the extension of the race days in harness racing next year is a rather naive idea but in every sport we seem to think the more the merrier. Interestingly I hear the IPL Cricket is going into the finals stange, strangely while many were disappointed it wasn't on Sky as such we have all survived without it, no different to racing, Entain can have 60 meetings every day but most of it one don't bother with anyway. Anyway I will go check Wingatui nominations, starting to get into winter in earnest now.
  3. I would be hoping that in the event of dog racing being closed that all the opponents will be happy to take the retired dogs and home them, I personally would be getting a contract signed by SAFE and similar organisation's to take on their wellbeing, that is the main gripe as what happens after they finish racing is probably the biggest issue. Maybe the best thing to phase out is stop breeding any more, but I've often thought that society as a rule would be better if people stopped breeding and that's probably not going to happen either.
  4. You want to go on facebook, Spelling is appalling, and these ain't typing errors, we all make them mow and then but not like that.
  5. 1098 3ZB 1044 4ZB 1080 1ZB 1035. 2ZB Not hard to see how some stations butted in over others.
  6. All those frequencies on newstalk zb are probably the same today.
  7. I stand to be corrected but I think the race in the fog may have been.on a Monday night, just to confirm.either way I will go check results🤔
  8. 4ZB use to do the night races from Addington for a time after 3ZB moved their aerial or whatever up to North Canterbury somewhere, strangely so many years down the track and despite technological advances we don't get as good coverage of racing on radio as all that time ago.
  9. Berkett use to have a big team, Hutt Park must have been a great track for him, good racing, not too much travel.
  10. I had one of them radio booster things, either bought it out of Turf Digest of Truth also putting radio up against post and wire fe ce worked, wasn't always convenient uf you going to town to take the fence with you lol but the wee device did work. That would have been the mid 80s. Strangely in today's day and age we have so much available with the internet but still moan sometimes. All the oldies like the radio, lots of youngans probably don't know what a AM radio is.
  11. Chesapeake was a handy trotter too.
  12. For some of the races at Winton yesterday under the comments for each individual horse was No Comment.
  13. And I still believe when Entains trial period is up we may be having similar discussions about the racing industry as we did when covid come along and the TAB bailout , everything seems too good to be true, it's not as if Entain are making massive profits either, time will tell.
  14. Ones getting so many mixed messages regarding turnover, if it's so important why so many meetings impinging on Sundays and the doubling up of Fridays, yet strangely I've wondered about the southern meetings mostly Saturdays after Easter being lost to gallops yet strangely now moving to Thursdays, must be to maximize turnover, strange thought process by HRNZ indeed.
  15. Interestingly how they get their TV ratings is a mystery to me but they stated the most viewed game was on good Friday so I would assume it must be reasonably accurate, be fair to say many who stream probably watch it on TV anyway. Not every body can get good internet, some places probably never will, I have on the odd time looked around some of the free streaming places but it seems to lead me to casino sites so I just give up but I'm not fussed, enough free sport on TV for me. You would hope all the little issues with the app will eventually get sorted, I like the notifications you get before a race.
  16. I've never got enthused about streaming sport, I do watch the odd race now and then, watch bits and pieces on you tube. Interestingly the. Viewing numbers for super rugby are up and still TV viewing still miles ahead of streaming, each have their place and sure intime streaming will increase but if they put stuff on TV that's worth watching it will too.
  17. It does seem a bit weird having Kapati racing same day as Marlborough, they are close together and yet despite there being 365 days in every year they both race same day. Having said that it seems odd all the extra Sundays competing with harness clubs. The experts think they know best, maybe they do.
  18. So when is this great announcement being announced.
  19. On my tablet it will go full screen on app, on website I get just over half screen at best, on smartphone j get full screen on rotate I think on both app and website.

The interesting thing I noted with the country cup was despite there being lots on the points table, only 14 nominated for the final and started, no emergencys., it stated that you had to nominate as normal, seems lots mustn't have bothered.
  21. The app, i just uninstalled then downloaded again, it's actually very good as a rule, the website version is OK too, I just wonder if everyone realizes their is a app version.
  22. One tends to get mixed messages, maximizing turnover was always the main objective but it appears not the case, moving more meetings to create clashes on Sundays suggest that. I've always questioned all the Southern meetings on Saturdays after Easter where it tends to get overshadowed by the gallops thus resulting in modest turnover so now what have they done, move most Southern days , to Thursday to I suggest maybe maximize turnover, nothing seems to make sense.
  23. I think Messara gave out some rather odd ideas, Waikouiti stay open, Oamaru, Timaru, Gore and Riverton to close, odd to say the least.
  24. It appears gallops got 6 new meetings, who got them, someone will know.
