In reality Purdon winning all the time might have got a bit monotonous in some of the public's eye but just maybe Purdon got a bit bored with it too,done everything he could do so why not take a break

A lot of the tracks are off limits anyway,I think in reality a lot of hot air will be blown around,probably fuck all changes more likely but in cases changes are needed,its been happening for a long time anyway,Tapanui,Westport,Rangiora,Nelson,Orari,Winton,Wyndham and recently Waikouiti,Hokitika and Banks Peninsula and Waterlea and Omakau ,one or two of those may have a case for resuming there is only so far you can reduce,will Timaru,Oamaru,Gore,etc etc go,I'm not so sure. Forgot to mention Waimate who should at least get their trotting day back.

There is still plenty of life left in racing,look at all the southern trainers racing today,its the peak of summer and they all have a few going around,why,because they have a passion for what they are doing,and it will probably carry on as such,the thing that could make a big difference is if the suits shift all winter racing to Riccarton,I dont reckon they will completely but those east coast winter meetings keep the southerners going.

Just like Mesara,wanted to shut Gore Oamaru and Timaru and keep Waikouiti open,strange thoughts indeed.

Status quo not a option,I know that today's Riverton meeting despite the rain will do pretty well,will they close Riverton and race at Ascot Park,anyone that would make that sort of idea is a halfwit but they are thinking it could happen in a few years,if the status quo is not a option will some of those meetings in the CD that only have 6 or 7 races remain,if Riccarton get a AWT will that make the best galloping track at Washdyke redundant,sometimes change is good but also sometimes the status quo that's worked perfectly fine is still fine,incidentally I read a article from the ODT,a new guy back in charge of Wingatui saying they would welcome Forbury racing on their grass track,wonder if that's was just the odd day or every week in june and july included,gets a bit wet down south in winter

I remember on Hokanui Gold radio when Jamie Mackay was on it,Sargeant dan came on at 10 to 8 every morning with a lot of funny shit,one morning he was saying about the athletics he was in,the 4 ×100 relay,2 runners didn't turn up so the other 2 runners ran it on their own Dan ran the 2 and and fourth leg the other guy the 1st and 3rd,just picture that scenario That was funny shit in those days,Dan's old man who had been made redundant from the railways use to watch the rugby sitting out on the street outside selectrix watching it on their tv,funny times aye,all good bullshit.

Like it or not in reality as they work the horses and know them inside out they must pretty well know the results before they leave home,maybe the odd hot pot getting trapped on the rail or something helps another,who would know,they have good horses but one wonders.

Probably somewhere the All Stars drivers have got the results written down on a paper,just so they other members of team know which ones to back lol

You must have backed a few of their winners,there is a difference as to how good they are based on their percentages.

Those dual code meetings in this situation are probably good,it promotes harness which needs all the promotion it can get.........12 to 15000 people,really?

I actually watched the odd race and while I'm no fan of Auckland the stakes on offer matched the quality of the racing,no doubt about it but it doesn't detract how significant all the little clubs in the smaller places racing and how important their place in the scheme of things are too,it's not all about a few bigwigs clubs,in many ways the poorest attenders of sporting events and racing is included is actually Auckland,for the population the turnouts sometimes are very poor
