  1. Thought this was worth a mention, The Jnr drive this week in North was canceled, looked like due to region lockdown. Instead Camb offered 3 races on card, if horse wins with Jnr 4y-o + then penalty free. Race 6 (2 Jnrs drove in race) Result Jnrs 2nd & 3rd - margins head & neck. Race 7 (3 Jnrs drove in race) Result Jnrs 1st, 2nd, 3rd - margin neck & neck. The other race was a trot. Race 7 was trifecta. They dictated the race being lead, trail & parked a lap out in a slow time & was a sprint home, was a long 4 lengths margin back to 4th. The most recent Jnr drive race at Alex, was a nice run race. The leader dictated slowly in-front, a lap out, a horse in 1-1 come out to inject some speed into race, & it was another closely contested race home up the straight. Close margin finish. Bring on the Jnr Drive North verse South comp again. Will the South be able to take the Crown off the North? Some nice Jnrs in both Islands πŸ˜„
  2. Aww we got a 270, thats a 270, we are at 270 now, Ill take a fivver, a fivver next bid, look at all those nice yearlings we have here. Who will give me a 275?
  3. Getting some traction, but we hit a speed bump so slowed us down from building speed up, As Gamms has not re-entered, will keep him on original 200, Robalan 220, Trotsfan 240, Karrots 300 as per original, Eljay ph bid as per original. Any other takers, bidding still open, looking to clear the speed bumps soon. Surely there is a 260 out there, a 260, has anyone got a 260?
  4. We have a 240, 240, 240. Is there a 250, 250 250 out there?
  5. Now that everyone has kissed & made up, does anyone want to play the guessing game for Top Lot? How much the Top Lot will go for at CHC? Gamms you can have another guess. I'd say there is a good chance it will go higher than $300k, based on fact there are more horses & those bidders eg Fleiss did not bid at AKL. In saying that it depends also, if a couple of those high bidders get stuck on the same horse. If not, then it may not go higher than $300k. Come on peeps take a guess & I can announce the winner after the sale πŸ˜„
  6. Ok. I have not seen yet. And the class of 2018 isn’t his big numbers year. People will most likely start to notice it when the 2019 class hit the track & also the following year too. For me, I don’t think he is the absolute top sire number 1 (but he is pretty good πŸ™‚). I think he is the best pacing sire value for money currently in NZ. Great strike rate, so good chance of getting your purchase price back, lower sire fee eg $7k or $7.5k whatever it is so vendors have more chance to recover that price at sales, and if you breed good mares to him then you get top tier, eg Sweet on Me, Spirit of St Lou, Aladdin, Darling Me, etc Whether his NZ sires fee stays the same who knows, but I read an article that he is known as the Peoples horse in USA as the owners want him to be priced so that he is affordable to the people & with that have a good chance to get a nice horse 😁
  7. Checking to see who is on Mr Ibiza - Dougie. Taking a look this horsey was brought for $4k at the 2019 weanling sales by Logan & Roberston. Mr Ibiza ran a nice 2nd in 1st Young Guns heat, nearly won his sale price back. Have they L&R purchased the bargin buy of the 2019 weanling sale (now 2 y-o) & now just sold the Top lot of yearling sale . (well yes if its just Auckland sale). Chevrons Bypass was sold for 22k same weanling sale 2019, Miki Montana also went for same price/sale. Found interesting, not sure if others will, that a horse called Bollinger now 2y-o was passed in at weanling sale for 50k, then went on to sell at the yearling sale for $200k to J Feiss.
  8. Don’t understand this weird thing, you think I am or was a journo. The fact is No, never have been never would be. Repeat No. You were the 1 that brought up the Auk thing re saying Jaffa. Relevant here in this instant to point out, hence you said I along with Ludwig were moaning. You may want to add in Ranga, Robalan & JJ, too as they all also liked the post you refer to. Quietly - Take a look at where I have name called you, attacked you, or used unbecoming language towards you. Quietly - Now take a look to where I have praised you, included you in fun games, chatting nicely with you and respected you when replying. I had thought we had moved on. I’m going to leave it at that Whippy.
  9. Ok, for some positive horsey talk, looks like Alex is going ahead. I’v added more posters to horses these are 2y-os nom-ed for Fri Alex/Add. Everyone will be on a horse for the Final. If your horse misses a spot you will be transferred to another. Be 2 posters per horse in final so 12 horses x 3 races x 2 posters per horse. Dance til Dawn - Kick in the Kods Mr Kaplan - Robalan Im Your Huckleberry - Unhinged Major Thomas - The Horseman Faith in Manchester - Taupiri Wonder King City - Mehe Cyclone Kadabramelia JJ Flash High on Love - Clarkie Quick Barbie - Spatchcock Snow Robyn - Teaz Allegra - TakuUmanga Tide and Time - Milo
  10. Moaning, excuse me Whippy, but as I reside in Auks which u know, I have been directly effected by this level 3 lockdown. Auks 3rd lockdown. I have not come on this thread & moaned about it. I have done the opposite & posted on other threads instead talking about the horses. I'm not attacking you or your viewpoint. Have no desire to talk about Covid. So please do not include me in this debate. Many thanks.
  11. Hehe, went & dusted off my (Camb) selections crown too, as still have it. Maybe we need to do another selections soon, I'm starting to get weighed down by the weight hehe. Bit like your 2y-o allocated horse with Dunedin in cart too. Hope they get the young guns heats off the ground on Fri … saw some more new ones been nomed, so can allocate out to people if the racing happens Alex …
  12. Good luck with getting 1000 & no not dreaming. Took at look at your Facebook & some good videos & lots of views πŸ‘πŸ˜„ On a side note - while noticing that Stonewall took the top lot yesterday $300k, they also took the top lots at weanling sales at $52,500k & $50k.
  13. Yes, Mikey, I saw that too. After chatting with Unhinged on here, I went & took a peak at his Facebook page & watched a nice raw video of her chatting to him about her win & the horse leaving. Its a good watch if you haven't seen it. Read Amazing Dream could also be sold, but they were deciding after that race. * With the Auks horses scratched from Mana, looks like they still have the numbers to have the 6 races (mini plus meeting) πŸ˜„
  14. Sorry late to the BOAY party, as been out back trying on, who can pick the top lot price crown. I was given permission to keep it warm due to CHC postponement. Gotta keep my eye on Eljay, he might nip up the passing lane in CHC & snatch it off me.
  15. Mistake, had a quick boy look. Its a filly I think Gamms a filly.
  16. Well the Top Lot went today for $300k and there is still CHC to go. Checking results its Stonewall buyer, Logan & Hollis seller, Congrats to them πŸ‘ **Gamms think you fun guessed $200k** A lil bit higher hey. Fab result for this Bettors Delight Colt.
  17. Newmarket πŸ˜„ This topic thread is called Ownership Ideas page not Negativity page. Gee. Sales seems to be doing ok. I'm no expert tho.
  18. PS businesses often try to get customers emails. The other day I brought a pair of earrings, when making payment the shop gal, asked for my email. I declined, because that is my right. As it would be anyone asked at a big race day. (It hasn't put me off going back to buy from that shop - Id just say no again re email). You could get people that hand out race-books if they are interested on behalf of the club & if yes ask for email. I don’t get how there is an issue with that, in the rule book. But obviously there is.
  19. Got it. When I say rule maybe changed, I mean rule on premise/track to approach, handout info or advertise to potential owners needs to be looked/reviewed, if it is currently not allowed. I view that a wasted opportunity if not allowed, the club should be allowed to hand out goodie bags on exit with get home safe options & ownership info. Those other rules you state yes agree need to be there. (I don't know about the advertising thing you mean - I thought Stonewall advertised in Herald and include fees . in-fact I have seen an ad of theirs once before). Maybe you mean something different. 300 holy crack-a-moly that is a lot. Go you. Your next aim is the 500 club hehe πŸ˜πŸ‘ Big day sales day today, be interesting to see how it all goes, ownership interest, top lots etc 😁
  20. Wow thanks Unhinged for your input/info. Isn’t it kind of like a business? A syndicate. I'm not super familiar, just got the general jist. Never heard of such rules around businesses in sense of marketing or cold calling. I wouldn’t even call it cold calling, if they have volunteering come on your premise/track or even paid to come on your track. What about goodie bags with info in them among other things? Those that pay to go into those pricey areas or book tables? Mind you 1/2 would leave them behind being too drunk. So could be given out as they exit. There has to be a subtle way to do it at a track come big race meetinggs. Great to hear Addington are pro-active re ownership, sounds like the opposite at Alex going on what Eljay says. Interesting re trainers little input. Would of thought they would be wanting extra help re owner recruitment. (Maybe it's time to change these rule then) 😁 hehe
  21. Says driver MM got fined wonder why. Thought he ran well holding 4th. Hitting 2 crns 3 wide & parked is tough group 1 level. Short version U May Cullect, showed promise, beat Classie B but then seemed to have probs, but is back. Just saw a nice article on him/her HRNZ on how they will tackle things this time moving forward.
  22. Yes 1st Group 1 & must be very special for her + U May Cullect is Back πŸ˜„

Was thinking exact same thing after last nite. Swaying towards its even, no clear cut top dog. Whoever gets the best draw & best run. American Dealer/Its All about Faith/Krug/Aladdin with peak fitness - cant leave out Ragazzo Mach too & nice run by Hot N T last nite.
  24. 1 thing that I observed was no stable-driving from any stable that raced at Addington last nite. In-fact, was brilliant, in a race the Dunn leader, the parked horse another Dunn horse, did not have a crack for lead. And the parked horse still went on to win πŸ‘πŸ˜„ Great fair play example the Dunn stable is setting.
  25. Hey D, That is the point, targeting newbies. Thousands of Potential Newbies. Even better with friends so if 1 joins then another 1 or 2 might be more incline too and everyone is happy and more in yes mode after having a couple of drinks. I see it as an opportunity to at least present and ask the question. Are they interested in being part of a horse syndicate? If no, then in same position than was in before with not asking, if yes then wala that was easy wasn't it 😁
