Yes correct, and I thought about that as I was replying alot of identifying issues but less problem solving. Better to go down fighting than not to fight at all. Id need to think it over on other solutions. But we might need BOAY prizes for solutions hehehehehehe

Remember reading an article & Alex kind of stabbing Camb in back. When it came to dishing out dates draft calendar last year, re new schedule when a number of grass tracks had not been given. They were trying to take some dates of Camb or something. Because they were the premier track/club. Even when they had numbers problems. Then another attitude no R40’s & top of the rank horses within each grade, attitude, this would be fine, but it seemed to come with a vibe like looking down on others they didn't make the cut. Maybe the attitude has changed … Hopefully. Wonder who is going to hold the crown at the end of today, Im keeping it warm … wonder if its going to be Eljay with a phone bid 😄

Yeah I guess there would be a whole bunch of contributing factors including the one you put forward, With costs so high living in Auckland too, would that be potentially halting young blood, I mean Poutamu just moved back to Parmy. On box-seat they said they would be discussing the issue in a couple weeks time, re North horse low numbers, specially Auks. Well there needs to be some solutions put forward. Re-adjustments to current model. Because the current one ain’t working anymore it would seem. Why do I get the vibe that the Auckland club not members but a small selection of others maybe a bit Karrot like 😜 Maybe they need to pull that Karrot out of their you know what hehehe.

Yip makes sense. Even Hughes, I remember reading an article last year in which he mentioned he is picky with horses he takes to Alex. I specially recall him mentioning a horse called Giddy Height, that she might be good enough to go, raced once up there, but nope. I also recall a Chilcott trained horse. I thought at time, yip Alex horse, ran some hard races up there, fast times, then it never really again was the same. Even 1 time at Camb later it was in lead and turning for home in home straight it broke up was a sure winner was out by 2-3 lengths. I think it now races down South. That would be a specific example of what you say re burn out from fast hard racing at Alex. Also Im thinking too those Central Districts peeps, bugger travelling all the way up to Auckland, then on top of that hitting traffic. So that would count most of those out. To travel to Camb for them is a trek in itself but do-able, but Auckland is further up + traffic. No thanks.

Yay Gamms is back 😄 Not really sure. The only things I could think that may contribute are : 1. Traffic getting there if you have to travel. If you are a 1 or 2 horse band, small stable or a hobby trainer. All that road noise on motor-way could scare the horses. Its hectic enough these days & with horses on back just adds to stress. Fri evenings can be the worst. Trucks wouldn’t be so effected but still traffic. 2. Then my mind goes to a pyramid. Top horses there just naturally less of, and the average horses there are more of. Maybe like humans less Olympics athletics, or top level, more of us that fit into the average category. Therefore with Alex, targeting the top is naturally going to have less. 3. A smaller pool of horses in the North than South. If you have an average horse which most people do, would you prefer to just wait for a less stress free race-day, low key & weaker fields, even if it is for less stake money ☝️ I know what option I would be going for, unless I had a special horse. Otherwise be too much effort & not guaranteed a placing. * Don’t they get bigger fields in winter, but in saying that too, don’t they target the South of the Bombay horses, so those know they will be racing more like for like & its lower prize money too. But they come for that. The fillies race looks nice. Darling Me, Enjoy Me, Bettor Twist, La Rosa. Same re Spirit of St Lou up against Copy That 😃

What a nice reply, thanks for that Brods 😄 Oh it doesn’t bother me personally, re you posting about your TAB issue. Remember not long ago in a debate you & Chief had with MG & Mikie I stated I could see both sides. And I still can. Then said I wish I didn’t say anything to get involved. I just scroll quickly past those posts, but read intentively your other posts. Some people I think may doubt you had probs or are a true restricted. After receiving your PM not too long ago answering my questions, I am a believer that you are. No doubt in my mind. Thank you again for sharing. Perhaps I didn’t word things as well as I could of. Losing good posters is a shame. Anyway moving on - Some nice workouts were had at Auckland this weekend. Sales again tomorrow, I read an article about how some people are calling for it to be permantely moved to a week in between, as they are able to syndicate and then go to the next sale with confidence knowing they can spend again. Must be exciting/nerve racking for the vendors & bidders. Go luck to all. Ok. So I'm going to put my thoughts here. Why, because we live in a democratic society. Maybe some agree, maybe some disagree, should people dislike me because of this 1 opinion I hope not. Maybe I got that highly competitive spirit from living in the States ... Next I noticed Self Assured had to sit parked. Work it baby, work it. Also Amazing Dream Had to work twice, to get lead back. Yes I enjoyed that. That is racing and how it should be. None of this be gifted lead because your stable mate is in lead. I also think this site holds a good purpose. Yes I am new so maybe speaking out of turn. However 2 of my good friends - whom I felt bring real value here, have chosen to stop posting. Bringing positive yet objective thoughts. Gammalite & Mikie. Chief this site could have so much more traction. Keep Politics-Covid-and Brodie's TAB issues out of it & you will find this site flourish. Every opinion counts, from Dunedin-Forbs to Whippy to mine to Gamms. Move on get over it if people disagree with you. Debate it out. Apologize and realize we are all here because we LOVE HARNESS. Whippy, your last tip was in trail, race abandoned, thank goodness everyone it seemed was ok. Thinking more on this it could be also done with a single female, & reveal a cutie boy horsie. Also could zoom in on horsie getting maine plaited, getting primed for date time with new owner. Getting ready to look their best. I think this video if done with 3-4 people all coming together all having gifted 5% each could work. HRNZ could even through in $ as marketing costs. These people could also become long time owners & they would bring in their fans & follows friends also. If done right it could be a winner. Aim would be 100k views. It's do-able 👍

Good luck on it tho. * Thought of something else too re video idea, could do same thing, but with a single guy, say that someone wants to meet him. Could have him think its a fan or something. Or maybe even a blind date or something. Have someone say to him, "yes (she), can’t wait to meet you, shes really looking forward to it, she is getting herself all groomed up ready now as we speak". Then cut to the horse getting groomed, include being brushed & having a hair cut 🐴 Then when meets horse, with blind-fold on, give the person a hint. Have them hold a small piece of freshly trimmed maine. Film his response, (could be funny), then do the reveal. If doing others also, to do the reveal all at the same time hehe.

Must be due to the $1 each way 😂 Another idea last Karrots idea for Fitzgerald - could do that video with multiple people, scenes/script filmed exact same, but all at different locations their homes getting ready & in car on way there. Then all at the same time for example meet at horse location at eg 3pm and they all get out of their individual cars, & all filmed walking up with blindfolds to same horse. As they ALL have 5% share in the same horse 😄 Filming could just be homemade on ph cameras & available online editing tools to use. To keep production costs down. That way they will ALL share the video which would result in more views/shares etc 😄

Fitzgerald - here is a 45 second - 1 minute short funny video idea. Just very quickly off top of my head. Get a NZ well - known with a big social media following. Title could be “When you GF plans a surprise for your Bday” Have the wife/GF play along. Plan it with her, (make it a surprise for him), he only knows that they will be filmed for something special she has organised. But he doesn’t know what. So kind of like a hidden video but not. Have her dress up looking nice & film her saying to him, "for your Bday she has planned something different & special". She could say “she will bring along her favourite boots”, she could even grab a whip and say “hmm maybe I bring this” and give him a wink and also she could pick up a blind fold and “say and I will for sure bring this”. Cut to them driving somewhere & focus on his face expressions looking happy/excited - he has in his mind maybe sexy time hehe. Then have him blind folded just prior they drive up the horsey ranch. Keep him blind folded while bringing out the horse. Have her take off the blind fold and in-front of him is the horse. Have her say “I got you this horse”. Then she says “yeah 5% share in this horse - don't you just love him/her" 😁 Zoom in on his face expressions. Hopefully it is priceless. Then a link to the website to pop up at the end of the video. Have him post it and hopefully it gets lots of shares, views and traction to website ownahorse.racing

http://www.ownahorse.racing What a fantastic idea. After reading Ranga’s new post thread, I started sniffing around Facebook found this, along with a great newspaper article - founder A Fitzgerald. They will just have to drive outside traffic to site. Some Karrots ideas to help, * Could look into insta influences or anyone in age bracket 30-50 with a high following on Facebook to put up a couple of posts, and in exchange to keep costs down, as they charge per post usually, they could be gifted a 2.5% - 5 % share in a horse. That way, along the way when horse wins they might do another post on it 😁 * Or get a well known NZ person - with no connection to racing with high social media following to do the same thing. A fun idea might be have them do a short video that is funny, script needs to involve horse/s & be short eg 30 sec max 1 min. Short funny videos can result in lots of shares.
