I see the trainer in question down south js racing again aswell. I wonder what happened there? I heard some stuff about some staff contamination at Palmerston North so I wonder if this is the same case
  2. Interesting read linked below. The J curve Traralagon track was designed by Sydney University "Experts" to help provide a safer track design for racing than the current ones we use. However, the track is now one of the deadliest in the state of Victoria. They are saying the track hasnt been at fault for most of these deaths but surely the tracks shape is contributing to these deadly collisions that keep occurring on this one track? Will be interesting to see if this trend continues on the track. Could be the experts arent as sure about track design as they say they are? https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-09-21/greyhound-death-traralgon-j-curve-greyhound-racing-victoria/101459204

RIB should be testing trainers, handlers and on course staff for Meth because there is a clear problem in the racing community. If people test positive, instead of criticising or punishing them, the industry should be supporting them getting clean before positives happen. People doing meth is an issue for their own dogs and others at the track from cross contamination and it really does not look good from the outside. Talking to work colleagues about it yesterday as some know i was involved in the industry in the past and they have all said it looks terrible.
  4. If the wounds were bad enough that the dog had to get put down than i disagree here
  5. How does one person with an entire kennel in poor condition get 6 months and he gets 2 yrs? No consistency here at all

Believe this was temporary as Mullane could not go to the track
  7. The article for anyone asking. Apparently was on the news aswell https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2022/08/two-trainers-banned-from-greyhound-racing-after-leaving-dogs-in-abhorrent-conditions.html
  8. See another Kennels has been fined and disqualified for Animal Neglect. How did Trent Agent and Kimberlee Williams only get 2 years and a 2k fine for animal neglect? Surely this should be the worst type of act anyone can be fined for. The review at the end of this year is looking worse and worse every day
  9. Back when I was involved, 50/50 seemed pretty reasonable to me. If you have a good enough dog and they dont agree to your terms, find someone else. I know i few trainers today who charge 150-250 a week

    Cole

Heard Brendon Cole has brought a dairy farm. I dont know how accurate this rumour is.
  11. My understanding is one of them was Ethan Toomer whose father had a positive to meth a year ago and the other is Lisa Warentine. This is what I heard at the track last week anyway. No official confirmation yet
  12. See 3 people charged over 2 dogs proving positives to meth. Never ends it seems
  13. Another great news piece today!
  14. I wouldnt know anymore. Havent been in the industry for a long while now. Its just gutting to see an industry I grew up in and know many good people in be dragged through the mud. Worst part is anyone could have seen this coming from a mile away
  15. Exactly. And thats how McInerney refers to himself. A dog farmer. Anyone who has had any business with him wouldnt be surprised from these allegations. The real crime is grnz havent put their asses into gear and done something about this.
  16. Agh yes the photos totally looked fake
  17. Not even surprised. Grnz just buries its head in the sand and pretends like the industry is squeaky clean. Only a matter of time before this industry is gone... And if you think the other industries are squeeky clean, you will have another thing coming after greyhound racings finished

  19. I dont want to see the industry go but its on its last limbs. Maybe if alot of the corruption and problems was called out sooner, it may have been different. All i see is mistake after mistake by those in charge and is one of the reasons i along with many others will never be directly involved in the industry again
  20. Some people want to see the sport survive past next year. You know. That cut of point the industry has? I dont think anyones individual success or failures trump the industry. What good are my group 1 trophies if i can no longer enjoy the industry?
  21. 2 questions. what does the chief operating role do? This is no way an attack on Liz as shes a good person but what has Liz done to warrant being in this role? Shes a media presenter. This role seems out of her depth if it holds any real importance at all. Knowing the industry and people in it shouldnt be the only reason to get a role. Thats absurd
  22. If thats the boards interpretation, why is the rule not written as such? How absurd
  23. Yes, those figures were just a baseline with alot of variables. Those were just the numbers id go by personally. 15-30k does encompass all costs up until they start racing which isnt a bad number. Youd expect most litters to be capable of making back what you spent on them from the bitch being semenated to the dogs starting to race A dog making 12k a year is from a trainers perspective and can vary greatly. 12k a year for me covered all basic expenses of that said dog on a 50/50 deal. Saying that I'd still need a few dogs to make more to cover personal expensives etc as i didnt operate with training fees.
  24. Breaking in and rearing a litter can cost anywhere between 15-30k up until they race. On a 50/50 deal with no fees, i used to need a greyhound make 12k a year to cover its costs. 6k to cover food, supplements etc and 6k to the owner. I presume this will be more now
  25. Beginning of the end for greyhound racing. Funny trainers have had issues with this track for years with little lee way given but as soon as the media pick up on it, they react right away
