Galah, a standing start is a stand or is it a moving start? Yes there was a bit of mucking around as the drivers never know what sort of start it is going to be! They should be all on a level playing field for stands or get rid of the stands if the starter can not start them correctly. The Brent White trained gorse was back from the tape and was moving very quickly when we got the riiiiiiiight!! Some horses were standing still and others playing up and yet it is a start????? They are a shocker, and need to be rid of like Auckland has already done!

Personally think it was a first class drive from Matt Anderson! The horse is no champion and dint know how he couldve driven it any better? The only question out of that race is how much better Brantley went? To be fair though, there have been several horses go good after leaving the previous trainers barn!

When it is at Addington Raceway!! FFS race 4 at Addington today was meant to be a 2000metre stand! If this is the best that Addington can dish out on a Sunday from a starter, then geez they need serious help and punters should vote with their feet! Absolutely ridiculous that the favourite, is allowed to be in a full blown run up rather than any semblance of a stand! If that is the very best that he can do, then he needs to be in the retirement paddock!!! Seriously, why should punters have to put up with this shite, time after time???? no I didnt have a wager, first race I watched all day, and just pathetic from Addingtons starter! Waste of time having a go from stands at Addington as it is just A raffle, and punters need better than this!

I note that Regan Todd has come out of driving isolation, and is having a drive At Addington on Sunday arvo. He is driving Elo Louise in race 6 from the stand. We all know that Regan is a very good trainer, however he is only going to be having his 3rd raceday drive in the last 5 years, and his first for 3 years! I am not too sure why Regan has basically given the raceday driving away, as he used to be a better than average driver! Maybe it is that he prefers to put lighter drivers on and just concentrate on the training? Hope he does well with the first drive back!

Normal transmission has resumed! 2 races with AllStars horses in and they have filled the first 3 places in both races. This does not bode well for owners who are racing for peanuts already and not getting much of the peanuts!

Dont want drugging of horses, no!! There has always been drugs in racing over the past 40 years anyway. Has any harness driver caused a smash and then been tested and found positive? Not that I am aware! Personally believe that some need some stimulus in their system to wake them up!

Put the overseas shit on Trackside 2 including the Ozzie gallops and the NZ greyhounds Have the decent Gallops and all NZ harness on Trackside 1. We dont really need to be seeing the greyhounds walking to the boxes as no one is betting on a dog by the way it walks, efore a race. We also dont need to see any unfit security guard walking alongside greyhounds after the race!! I have asked before but still unsure why on earth the Greyhounds in Wanganui need to be chaperoned by a huge security guard??

Whiplash, seriously, the way you have been behaving today seems to be showing that you are on something pretty strong! There is no need to to bring your gutter talk to the discussions at all, very unbecoming! If you have something of importance to say, then do it without all the low class language. What I do know of Matt Anderson is that he is a very approachable, hardworking, successful, well spoken, talented horseman. What I also know is that we need many more of these young people to be retained in harness racing! What I also know is that they can be easily lost to the racing industry, as to still be working training and driving is a hard way to make a living! Yes he may well have broken the law by having possession of a banned drug, however I would suggest Whiplash, that you would be well aware of people who are equally as guilty as Matt Anderson! Personally wish Matt Anderson all the best for his future, whether it be harness or otherwise.

For the compulsive gamblers in NZ, with money still, we probably need more meetings to offload on. Had a count up today and there are only races from 40 different courses! Must be easy to follow form from all around the globe with meetings from everywhere! FFS 40 different courses and just as many tomorrow by the look of it! Of course the TAB want the smaller punter to continue to wager on them, even though they have no idea what they are backing!!!! The NZ punter has only so much money to be Offloaded each week, and I would think that this saturation of non beneficial racing is just going to drive the punters away!

Dougie, you hit the nail on the head! Dick Caskey’s horses did run places and win despite the way they looked and paced or trotted. Torle was one of his best, you never knew if it was pacing or galloping. Averos Spitfire never has and even if somehow it did win, there wouldnt Be another one!!! What thrill would owners really get from watching their horse finish down the track every start? then receive the training bill for thousands, knowing that there was no way of recouping any of it?

Whiplash, I would guarantee that Noodlum or not too many others have ever bothered racing a horse for 46 starts and is still racing as a near 7 year old without ever paying a dividend. I have no problem with you wantIng to defend a 7 year old gelding that has never paid a dividend after 46 starts! Did I ever say it had no right to be racing if the owner wanted it to? I posted the question as to why someone would want to still be racing the horse? Is there a story behind this or what? Why would an owner want to pay bills and watch the horse never go a good race???? Anyway no point debating it with you anymore as you clearly have the need to support a horse that shouldve been retired 3 years ago!

So the owners feel that Averos Spitfire is worth persevering with still? I am prepared to back myself, and say that this wont be their 3rd group 1 winner! As for being in the Black, wouldnt think so?
