Michael if it really is Michael House! Forums are for discussion and peoples opinions and mostly people use non de plumes. Why on earth do you require someones name so that you will talk to them? If you are really who you say you are, you will be aware that your name is bandied around as being the informant! Whether you are or not does not affect too many on BOAY. however I would have thought that if you werent the informant, You would be wanting to stringently deny such fact, otherwise the rumour will remain

From what i have heard on the grapevine, Mr Holden is only very part time and this is not what Harness needs! Ken Spicer appointed Mr Holden as a friend rather than on ability and this is clearly showing HRNZ! If you want harness to continue, you need to be doing something about it before it is too late! Where is the big announcement?
-
What has happened to the announcement from Phil Holden that was promised to be last week, in regards to stakes?? Harness NZ is paying someone a large salary for a part time temporary CEO that has already shown that he is not up to standard!
-
If I was MH I would be lying low!
-
Wouldnt waste my time either on Friday! Has become boring racing which I didnt think was possible. Can not be bothered looking much more and no doubt the odds will be pathetic as usual on openingz, Has Phil Holden done his speech in regards to stakes allocations yet or was it just more spiel???
-
In case MH wanted a name!!!!!
-
The injustice is that how on earth is it allowed that maidens and unraced horses are racing for the same amount as horses that have won eight races or more????? Why would you bother owning a race horse in NZ unless it was solely for the enjoyment of racing a horse for the fun of it, without worrying about the costs?
-
Michael, it is a well known rumour in the harness industry that Michael House is an informant to the Racing Integrity Unit, and you must know that? If you are not an informant, then I wouldve thought that you wouldve dispelled the rumours that many are circulating! And yes, I am “ the Brodster”, the one and only!

Happy, you keep beating me to these postings! You need to get more of a life, lol! Yes a 12,500k race with the one stable with all the starters! Surely what is the point of it when the same stable is going to get all of the 12,500. no point running it is it, when you wouldnt know what horse they want to win or place? Unfortunately harness racing is not looking too promising going forward as owners are not going to be bothered supporting the industry, as there is no way you are going to be able to cover costs. Punting is not worth the effort at the moment with the severe betting restrictions! When they announce on Trackside that $400 @$1.30 is worth mentioning, then you certainly know that the TAB is heading to extinction with racing!
-
I would rather see horses that have actually changed location, as soon as it happens and not weeks later! Too flippen late advising the punters after the horse has already won!
-
Winning horse certainly did move around and did affect the line of Four Starzz. That horse was certainly a cert beaten for a place, didnt record it so can not look at it again. The thing is years ago their were enquiries and gorses were thrown out, nowadays the stipes and JCA do not seem to want to know about relegations, as it involves sork! Far easier to fine drivers for tapping a horse 11 times so they can collect fines!
-
They actually did show a head on, on Trackside!

Most people in the country wouldnt give a rats about the whip in harness racing? Animal rights groups arent even worried about it, and yet some plonker brings in the 10 git rule that just makes no sense. I dont condone overuse of the whip on horses at all, but putting a no. On it Is just so illogical. Basil are you possibly the plonker that brought it in?
-
Happy, sorry I can not fathom either why people would be backing it? Would be into an option lf would Faith No More gallop though! Seems like a well named horse!
-
Totally correct Longowner. I certainly dont want to see horses flogged. However the 10 hit rule is just blatantly irrational and was rushed thru Without enough consideration and is blatantly stupid. HRNZ needs to change back to what it previously was and it worked!
-
Correct Basil! Just as we know that you support the stupid rule! Ask the drivers if they support it? Racing is losing its enthusiasts big time due to several things and stupid rules dont help
-
It is 10 strikes inside the 400 metres with a couple of exceptions. even if you are tapping them with the whip they seem to count it. It is just a bollacks rule with no sense to it

Zambia is up against race winners, and is still a maiden. It has gone some good races but also some average races. I appreciate that it was a bit u lucky last start down south, but why it is favourite even against a poor bunch is slightly puzzling? Fields are interesting tomorrow, but the ones I like are unders at the moment and not worth the effort. Good punting to all that have a crack! Bring back the head to heads,

What on earth does an i formation has been lodged? Just watched Bob Butt’s use of the whip In the first on Fighting Fire, and he got fined $300 for excess as well! Lol These drivers are winning their races and getting fined for cheating as the Stipes say they are being excessive with the whip, even though not one of those drives punished a horse!!!! If they are cheating then the horse should be disqualified as it is getting an advantage!! They are not going to do this as they can collect revenue from this diabolical rule!!! This plonkers rule needs to be GONE!!!!!!!
-
I think that mark on the inside of the track is the 50metre mark. They are probably saying that it trotted early after the start even though it was pretty rough. The horse obviously was the best horse in the field as it was a big run.
-
I note that Mark Purdon and Olivia Thornley were fined in race 2 Last night for excess use of the whip. $300 and $400 fines for what? If you watch the replay, you will see that neither of them were a actually hitting their horses with much force at all! This 10 hit rule that Edward Rennell brought in without much support or common sense, would have to be one of the most stupidest rules introduced into any business or sport!! It is long overdue that HRNZ changes the stupid rule back to what it was previously, and was working! Phil Holden, you havent done anything yet, how about seeing sense and overturning it, but why would you want to do anything that is for the betterment of harness racing, when you get paid for just being there for a few hours a week? Are we still awaiting the stakes distribution that we were promised to happen this week?
-
Westeros certainly hasnt got its mothers ability. Gave Korbyn Newman a very difficult drive, and has got absolutely no early speed. Would need to improve a helluva lot to win another race, however you would think it would not be having many more starts. Why on earth the TAB had it opening at $4.80 to win is mind boggling?

Question? Why are Fixed Odds opening odds So short??

Happy, we may well be the minority, however the people that I have known for a long time that are enthusiasts, are just not bothering punting nor going oncourse. Racing is struggling and can not see the lefty government bailing out racing again, as Peters will not be around with cap in hand, The Greenies want rid of the pokies as well, so that will stuff Auckland. Racing is on the ropes u fortunately and wouldve been on the canvas, had it not been for the handout from the taxpayer! Where is Phil Holden’s announcement? -

I actually thought that Addington racing twice weekly would be good, as kt ks a very fair track. However Brodie hasnt been on the money on this one! The Bookies are posting shorter odds than they should and so I can not be bothered. Yes we need different tracks for variety cos Purdons domination is tedious, they may as well just pay them out -

Happy, I am the same, can not be bothered with their pathetic odd setting! Sods Law,I really liked but at $2.05 into less than $2.0 for a horse that had not placed on an allweather track in 15 starts, is blatant buying money! The TAB Bookies are being absolute tossers with their odd setting, and are Not Driving Turnover!! The tote turnover is so low now as punters just can not be bothered and will get worse as the unemployment rate climbs in the next month or so. The racing with the AllStars involved is just a borefest with the team driving and also filling all the dividend bearing placings that they have several horses in! When you have your best trotters and pacers racing with 5 or 6 horse fields, you know things are just not flash! Do not think the harness racing industry is going to flourish going forward unfortunately, and we seem to be waiting for Mr Phil Holdens speech arent we?
