  1. Unfortunately talking about what tracks are going to close, who is getting redundancy is really a red herring! I don’t think people in the industry including Winston Peters, realise how dire the situation has become due to mismanagement! If this was a private business it would now be in receivership and I believe that is what will eventually happen in the next year or two. Unless the government is going to continue to throw money at Racing in NZ then yes It will go into receivership or management of some sort. The $70m includes $20m for the artificial tracks which I think is money down the drain now!! Of the $50m there is another $26m or so to go back to their Bank as some FUCKWITS borrowed And now they also have a $17m yearly contingency, not sure whether this is each and every year, if it is they have to get out of this quick smart. Effectively they have roughly $20m left from the $70m and how much of this is going to dissappear in redundancies, probably most! There is no radio coverage, next to no presenters, no form guides apart from online, next to no tracks, but yes we will have wall to wall racing from Oz, Dubai, Japan,Budapest, Zimbabwe, Argentina, Tonga, etc etc. We can bet on our iPads and into a self service machine and no,TAB agencies!!! The stakes are going to be $5k on a very good day as turnover is going to be dwindling! These big wigs who draw these exorbitant salaries have stuffed the racing industry as they have no idea on how to run a successful business, as most have always had their noses in the public troughs!! We will all have to get another interest! Some won’t agree with the Brodster but as you all know, I am always on the money” unfortunately on this occasion!
  2. Greg, these closures are probably needed but Addington will be the only harness track with racing in 5 years time. Racing down in Southland will go into oblivion as well as there won’t be enough owners and trainers racing for sufficient money to make it viable. Not sure what your reason for supporting RITA but geez there have been some blatantly stupid decisions made and blatant selfishness with the taking of massive amounts of salaries being paid to employees well beyond what they should be entitled to. There have been good opportunities over the past decade and yet they have stuffed the industry big time.
  3. The cost cutting will stop for racing in the next couple of years without doubt. The last cost cut will be the big wigs pay, as there won’t be any racing but there will be sports betting. There is no way in hell that harness racing will continue indefinitely as it is on the road to Self destruction with all these cost cutting decisions. I would say that Addington would be able to keep their stakes up a wee bit due to the rent they must be receiving from their commercial ventures they have? Dont believe that owners will want to be racing for $6k stakes next season but that is where I see the likely level is likely to be for many of the races. Auckland, are knackered and won’t recover and next few years I am sure the track will be sold off and put into housing. Depressing but reality!
  4. Business is not going to get back to normal for a long time and many won’t make it. Business was compulsorily locked down for 2 weeks too long unnecessarily and for what good? There hasn’t been any community spread for weeks in the South Island. We have been out and about and called in for a coffee at a well known coffee franchise and have had discussions previously. Straight up, it was no busier than under level3 for them and that wasn’t flash. Still had to pay rent and other costs and stated that it had put them back several years and business is stuffed at the moment and doesn’t think it will pick up until November. No staff laid off as yet and hope wont have to, but unless it improves there will be no business to survive. Racing is totally stuffed in NZ, and I wasn’t aware that there were so many incompetent decisions being made by the big wigs and they should be cleaned out and fall on their swords for stuffing the industry for the many thousands involved. If anyone believes that the 70 odd million is going to be a godsend and assist rac8ng to be strong again, then they are pretty deluded. Roughly$25 million left after paying the Bank and of that $25m, most of it is gone in the first year due to the $17m of running the amazing betting platform!!!! Racing in NZ R.I.P.
  5. Gobble gobble, sorry should’ve said baa!
  6. Dimentia care patients?
  7. I thought taxpayers go to barristers and solicitors?
  8. Ranga, wasn’t aware that people from rest homes were going into TAB’s?
  9. Galah, he has been a total drain on the taxpayer all of his life. His claim to fame, the Gold Card, wow
  10. At least the TAB is open and people will be able to collect their betting vouchers that have been burning a hole in their wallet while they are still trading! Do you think they will still be honouring the betting vouchers lol No I personally won’t be giving details of the Brodster, if they don’t want punters In then the punters won’t go in!! I
  11. A bit rich coming from Peters who has been a drain on the taxpayer all of his life. Doesnt even know he was getting too much Super from the taxpayer and then has the gall to sue the taxpayer. He loses in court and then the taxpayer has a bloody bill of over $1 million for his failure and this fellah is the saviour of racing? Yeah right!
  12. Happy, and you believe this BS? The 70m will go nowhere. Stakes are going to go south and owners are going to pull out! Watch this space for the demise now, if they couldn’t make money when business was going well, they aren’t going to in the future and with a Communist government in power!
  13. I won’t say unbelievable, because it is believable going on previous decisions! I have been saying for years that the TAB don’t care a rats arse about racing as it has been costing them money! Sports betting is where they have been making the profit and they have to make a profit to be able to pay salaries of $750,000 and the other 130 odd who were on over $100k!!!!!! Racing has deteriorated so badly in recent years and how you get to the stage where RITA owes money to the Bank where it can’t afford to pay it back, it is totally effed! Sadly turnover is not going to increase sufficiently with the current economic climate taking place.
  14. Nowornever, the NZ TAB won’t beat the Brodster! Personally don’t need to be investing on Harness Racing, it is the cha,Lange that I used to enjoy. Fortunately financially have everything well and truly covered by good investment and if they only have online wagering then the industry will be in dire straights and won’t survive. Do not think the 70 million will be a god send as 20 mill was for the artificial tracks. Think they owe plenty to Banks and so there certainly won’t be much left over to pay the clubs for racing and the still massive salaries of the overpaid bigwigs. What they need to survive is an attractive package to attract wagering and to have that they need to have horses and I can see ownership numbers dwindling significantly unfortunately. If Harness disappears then maybe the dishlkckers are an option? Yeah/Nah!
  15. You called the Brodster “Uncle Scrooge” for some strange reason, that is why I pointed out that your name calling was very inaccurate!!! Not too sure how you got that I was benefit bashing? What I was clearly pointing out Whiplash, was that Ardern wants to reduce the so-called inequality of wealth in NZ by making the wealthy not so wealth so that the gap is closed. Surely, it would be far more productive for the country to encourage the people without as much wealth, to increase their personal wealth, whether they were working or on welfare? It is the Communist way though to control the people is to have them reliant on government! As for running for parliament, give it a miss as I am not one to have my nose in the public trough! I do believe I would certainly be a helluva lot better than every single one of the current government bar none!!!
  16. Whiplash, if you are calling the Brodster Uncle Scrooge then you are well off the mark big time. I spend hundreds of thousands of dollars each and every year on things! My point is that communism is all about control and Arderns ideology is that people shouldn’t have wealth or they are able to. Are their own decisions. To close the inequality gap in wealth she would rather ensure that the people with wealth loses their wealth rather than the poor increase their wealth thru their own efforts! It is the Communist way.
  17. Greg, yes he had knowledge of thoroughbreds, but nothing with harness or dogs. It was the constant shite that he continually spat out that was not needed.

Don’t think Winnie would be wanting to be listening to Comrade Ardern. Brian Tamaki certainly isn’t, even though he is normally a tosser, Inactually agree with him with not following the 10 people rule, and Ardern bringing in the new rules this morning. Ardern is a Communist and the sooner the sheep realise this the better as she is so dangerous.
  19. Holy, I am aware that the Mad Butcher ships have been struggling for years, doesn’t make it right that he couldn’t sell meat online!!!! Well aware that there are 500suicides per year in NZ and it is going to be a helluva lot more this year and coming years as the fallout from business failures and people being laid off plays out. Dont intend getting into a further debate Holy, but seriously the additional weeks in lockdown for business has proven an absolute over reaction hasn’t it and has now ensured that a lot more businesses will go to the wall. Might be incorrect but as far as I am aware there has not been a single positive to the virus in the South Island for over 2 weeks whereas business could’ve been operating. The death toll is going to be huge from the effects of the extended lockdown and for what?.
  20. Get rid of all the clowns that have justified the stupid costly decisions that have been made and continually will be. The trough should be lowered and non performers moved on! Reality is that the punting turnover on racing will continue to suffer unless the product is promoted and new punters are brought onboard.
  21. Holy, because what the Chief states is a truthful statement. No point debating it again, but what I will state is that Chief has got his screwed on the right way and has a heck of a lot of common sense. He is stating his opinion which is fact based and seems to be a common sense unbiased opinion. Did you read where the owner of the Pukekohe Mad Butcher passed away in the ,ast few days a week after his business went into liquidation due to Arderns extended lockdown. He was trying to sell online but was not allowed to so he was forced to go broke. He was on TV1 a few weeks ago stating his position but made no difference he could see no way out! This is just the beginning of the fallout from the unescessarily long lockdown and stuffing of people’s financial position. Thats right we were told to stay at home and save lives!!! BS!! Killed this young fellah and she was not being kind.

Form is temporary, class is permanent as they say! Refreshed and ready for post Covid form. Wont be offloading stRaight away as there will be no form to follow, but rest assured I am back! Question has to be asked though? did Winnie run this past our esteemed leader Ardern first before he was allowed to say anything???
  23. So by the look of it STEVE DAVIS has gone as well? Gee that will be a heck of a loss won’t it????? Some liked him though, I thought he was great too on mute!
  24. So on that basis, why are the big wigs that have made stupid decisions, not fallen on their swords or acknowledged their shortcomings. If this was in the private sector these managers would be down the road, but as per usual the punters and taxpayers and horse participants are going to wear it. All the while these big wigs will be drawing their $10k per week salaries.
  25. The turkeys at the top of RITA are very conspicuous by their absence! Where is this CEO of RITA, where is this clown Saville who will be on $750k close to that? What have they done for the benefit of the TAB and racing? Haven’t got a problem paying those salaries if the are worth it and add value, however they are have not shown any of it and should be on jobseeker benefit
