  1. FFS , Ranga, “The ”Brodster” has never left his prime! Keep up!
  2. Galah, I believe you are right on all counts. Firstly no Lionel Dobbs is probably not one of our most promising drivers, however it totally appears that the Stipes have once again gone for an easy target! Can not for the life of me see anything that Mr Dobbs did wrong in any way. Mono Gamble gallops and Kens Dream had no chance whatsoever of avoiding it! What on earth was Mr Dobbs to do? Pull the horse up to a standstill? Ne didn’t appear to have any opportunity to do this and there was certainly room along the inside for Kens Dream to carry on! Just another shocking decision by the Stipes and hammer another more or less amateur. Clowns!
  3. The suit is brought out every year for an airing. And No, he isn’t gay, if you were thinking that lol!
  4. Probably a hangover!
  5. Hope you are correct, but if you can only get 7 horse fields when you are putting up a minimum of $15k, it is telling us something!
  6. Globe, to be fair they shouldn’t be running miles at Cambridge or Addington or Forbury or Anywhere! Hope you win though, as he deserves it, but if it trots Oscar won’t be beaten from 2
  7. And Allstars win all the big ones!, Merry Xmas to you too Flagster! Don’t over indulge ! Wait for it, Ranga will be on with a picture!
  8. Globe, I hope you right in that Auckland HRness Racing is going to be around for awhile yet. Personally don’t enjoy the style of racing up there but NZ harness to survive does need it still going! However, I can’t see it surviving unless things change dramatically and not sure how that is going to happen with the finances being in a dire state. How can you run a successful meeting with an average of only 7 horses over 7 of the races? Stakes are very good with a minimum of $15k but clearly there is not the number of horses required and new owners aren’t really coming thru. Young trainers are few and far between because the costs including land etc. just makes it too hard ! Auckland will need to drop the stakes by quite a bit to make it semi viable and then there will be more drop out of the industry. Merry Xmas everyone!
  9. Yes Blossom, I do think!!
  10. I think the 20k he would miss out on over the next month is massively overstated unless Matt is driving several horses in each race!

Was in the Harness Xpress. I was going to post all, about it hours ago but did not because everyone knows my opinion on the blatantly stupid whip rule already. I appreciate it is the perceived force of the whip rather than the no. But that has been my point previously that a no. Should not be in the rule!!!!!! Jamie Keast has always been known as being fairly vigorous with his whip action but that is not to say he is inflicting anymore hurt on a horse than some of the other drivers. Harness can not afford to lose any trainers or drivers but we will have a drop off in participation from all participants in the coming years, from punters, owners, trainers, drivers and junior drivers. There is not a lot being offered to participants at the moment, punters are getting screwed, owners are getting a hiding, trainers are struggling big time and the JCA are hammering the young junior drivers. RIU should be renamed as it is not appropriate. Jamie Keast, you will do better away from racing anyway.
  12. To be fair, hardly Terry Sullivan, Mr Asia! Matt Anderson made mistakes and he will be first to admit it. I don’t condone drug use however I don’t believe you can hang him for what he did as he wasn’t doing it to make money as far as I understand rather catering for demand. FFS, this hopeless government we currently have are going to have us vote next year to see whether we want to make MARIJUANA not illegal, so go figure. We can all walk around in a total daze and that is all good! Those without sin can cast the first stone as they say!!!!
  13. FFS Ranga, differently. Are you just a Wanker for the fun of it??? Sorry, Chief, had to be said!
  14. What an absolute waste of bloody time and money this operation Inca is! The NZ justice system has charged people then drop charges and then they leave it to the RIU to charge???
  15. They aren’t getting my business at the moment!!!! Cant be bothered with the Tossers!!! Still won’t stop me pointing out that what they are doing is just not right ethically, morally and any other ally!!
  16. So on what basis are they refusing punters? The fact that there rules may refuse to accept any bet without reason doesn’t make it right!!! Anyway, easier money to be made investing nowadays than trying to beat the fixed odds markets and restrictions. Punters and race goers are going to continue to give the racing game away and there are bugger all new people with any money coming in!
  17. Happy, yes I can not see Auckland Club getting out of it without selling more land which is probably a Franklin training centre. There is no way they can maintain the stake money that they Currently offering and there are fewer owners, trainers and drivers than there used to be. The amount of debt has put them in the shite totally!
  18. It is just blatant BS that the NZ TAB is allowed to treat punters differently. Are you allowed to treat people differently due to the colour of your skin? Are we allowed to treat people differently due to their religion? Are we allowed to treat people due to their age? The answer is no we are not allowed to and yet this monopoly the NZ TAB is allowed to differentiate and segregate some punters from the others due to being more successful. The NZ TAB will only let some win a pittance whereas other punters are allowed to lose as much as possible. Just because this is what they do does not make it right and I hope they get done by the punters each and every day but we know they won’t, because they will continue just to take wagers from the punters who continue to lose. I don’t need that crap but will certainly continue to point out the practice that they restrict who they want to.
  19. AllStars will send some over early and race in some of the other races before or after the inters. You would seriously doubt any other NZ horses would bother to go. Why would they want to have a heat at Bathurst???
  20. I doubt that there are very many new punters coming thru, certainly not enough to replace the ones that are being lost! There are possibly more sports punters that are betting more but unfortunately for the racing industry they are being diminished by the actions of the TAB! No one except the odd plonker on here, could support what is going on! Wait for it, Ranga, what have you got?
  21. Same bloody thing Greg. Being pedantic is not becoming of you.
  22. Greg, I thought you said earlier that there was no Racing Board now, and yet you have just quoted it???? Racing Board, RITA, don’t care what you call it, whatever needs major changes to make racing viable going forward. Keep up!
  23. There needs to be major changes within the infrastructure of the Racing Board and TAB. The overall costs need trimming significantly and turnover needs to be encouraged rather than discouraged. The salaries being paid to many of the employees are grossly exorbitant for what they are doing as without the punter they have no job. Blatantly ridiculous when employees are earning far more than thePrime Minister of NZ, not that she is doing a good job though! The TAB wouldn’t worry if harness racing wasn’t around as the hierarchy are only concerned about yield.
  24. Yes there would’ve punters paid out on the pathetically low odds on the fixed odds, But you also have to realise that they would’ve made plenty on all the other horses that were backed and lost. FFS even if the Bookies did lose a net $500k for the night, hardly that significant when they have employees that are on salaries of at least that amount and for doing exactly what??
  25. Greg, you are totally incorrect! NZ Bookies want certain punters to bet early when there is nothing at all being held by the Bookies. Bookies will take $10k off known losing punters as soon as the final fields odds come out, but if you are a restricted winning punter then doesn’t matter what you want to back, you are restricted. Greg, you are clearly not a winning restricted punted by the TAB or you would know what actually does go on!!! Even if there was plenty being held by the Bookies on race 5 at Addington, I couldn’t get much on!!!!! Do not go quoting stuff that is written overseas as being gospel as to what treatment I have had to endure while I was trying to invest!!!! You haven’t got a clue Greg! ’
