Mehe, don’t intend to get into any to and frying as just can’t be bothered. Yes we needed to be locked down, but the govt. was slow in locking down the borders. They have made many mistakes and couldve done things better including the way the wage subsidy was rushed thru without a lot of thought. Hospitals should’ve been doing surgeries now rather than having surgeons twiddling their thumbs! We should’ve been allowed to go to open spaces outside rather than being coupled up as more chance of catching the virus from affected people inside. Reality is that there has been about 1500 positives including probables and really no deaths caused by the virus to anyone without any underlying conditions and old age!!!! You can be a sheep if you want and go with the flow and believe everything,personally I like to think about things! Anyway, just hope things go good after we are out of home detention but I believe the cure of being locked up will be far worse than the disease!!! Anyway, Ozzie trots on !

Brodie does get the facts! There are far more deaths every year due to the normal flu! 800 deaths in NZ every week and not locked down! Will be heaps of deaths due to the consequences of being locked up! Generations will be indebted due to the lockdowns, The situation should have been monitored and when numbers were what they were, things should’ve been amended. Telling us everyday the no. Of positives and probables is a waste of time when most of the positives had very minor symptoms at worst, many with no symptoms. The random tests in Queenstown, ChCh, Waikato and Auckland had ZERO positives! The fact that many positives have no symptoms shows that it is not a killer virus at all! The virus strikes vulnerable people in Rest Homes but the standard yearly flu kills them every damn year without the country being locked up! You can believe what you want, your prerogative but the fact is that the modelling of having 28,000 dying from Covid19 just shows what a load of BS it is and stating g it is because of the early lockdown is a cop out! Adults have to be locked up but it is ok for school kids to go,to,school, that is because the virus in NZ is no worse than the flu. Are we getting locked up again when the winter flu hits? Why haven’t the hospitals been doing operations when the hospitals are so empty? So much scaremongering by the government and media!!!!!

Noodlum, there are more killed every year in NZ from the flu every year. There are about 800 people die every week in NZ from a variety of things and we are in lockdown because we have a few elderly frail vulnerable people pass away with the instruction not to resuscitate? When influenza hits and people catch it, are we all going to be locked down like this every year because vulnerable people have been admitted to hospital? Seriously, this has been overplayed by a leader that is power crazy! Australia haven’t been in totally lockdown like us and yet their death rate is less tha. Hours percentage wise! Oz was told that they could have 150,000 deaths and they have had just over 70! The damage has been done to the country due to the decisions that the government has made, although so many have been totally brainwashed by this virus!

God help us when the yearly flu virus hits us in Winter! More people will be infected by influenza and kill a lot more from this. We have a stuffed NZ economy because of this!

Prey tell us why horses can not be fast worked at the moment? If someone wants to,work their horse at any speed they like, why can’t they by now. They are hardly likely to be spreading any virus to anyone! If it was the fact that all these trainers and drivers if they weren’t hurt, would put pressure on the hospital, then that is just BS! Hospitals are barely half full and nurses and doctors have never been so quiet!!!!!

Frustrating is the word I would use Ranga. How We allow one Person to dictate to us all what we can do or not do is hard to fathom. There are just so many businesses that could be operating now and yet we put up with this lady of no business acumen whatsoever dictating and killing more people by her actions than this virus will ever do! Financially doesn’t affect us but it will affect millions

Businesses should be open already. Not a single death in Nz to anyone with normal health Ranga. How they can be counting the deaths of 90 year olds with dementia who they are not treating as Covid19 is unbelievable. 8 from the one rest home and all the others were over 70 with issues! We are closed down for business for this? Are they going to close again when the flu20 comes? Lets just all stay at home and this socialist government can just support everyone indefinitely!

Very difficult to decide what was the weakest of those 4 cup fields! However, Monkey King came from 17 and went as slow as any of the 4 races. The deciding factor for me is how could the pony Lord Forbes run in a NZ Cup and be only 6 lengths from the winner????

Seems an absolute crazy situation that Oz haven’t missed a single days racing and we are having none! Racing to most of us would be classed as an essential iNdustry and it is BS that the TAB can not have skeleton staff in a wee BUBBLE working out of the TAB office. How can anyone have any confidence in this Government to help business get back going?

Graham Bruton several years ago purchased a horse called Glass Half Full off Michael House. Possibly the last horse Graham owned and looked extremely promising but very erratic. Dont think it raced after it raced on Cup Day a few years ago, I believe. Think it may have broken down , but does anyone know if it was ever brought back into work as Graham would’ve paid a lot of money for it? ,

The crazy thing is that there a a lot of people who are crying out for the lockdown level 4 to be continued for longer??? WTF??? The so-called experts were stating that there was going to be 28,000 deaths here and something like up to 150,000 deaths in Oz. We have had no deaths in NZ or Oz to anyone that has not had underlying issues as I understand it and the average age would be in the 80s in NZ and most with dementia and havent been resuscitated due to instructions. Personally on the financial front it doesn’t affect us, but for most invested into the racing industry, it is going to affect them and that will flow onto the racing industry! Are we going to be able to ride this out if lockdown is extended and business doesn’t happen? NO!!!!!!!!!!!

I think they have got a lot more to worry about than paying someone a wage. Been watching the tote pools on win and place and they are extremely abysmal, but with all the agencies closed here and in Oz they must be losing a helluva lot of money on every single race. Ozzie still racing and yet we are all closed and yet we have not had a single death that has happened to a single person that had reasonable health to start with. We used to get the tote divs. to be paid Appearing on Our TV screens very quickly after the race has finished. We now don’t get them for ages after a race! Anyone know why the change has occurred??

Oz has certainly got it right! Harness NZ certainly made a major stuff up by bringing in stuff a blatantly stupid rule that had no logic to it whatsoever. How do they expect a driver to count up to 10 ea who,e concentrating on driving their horse? HRNZ change the rule back to what it was And admit you erred badly!!!

The Ozzies clearly saw the light and have certainly not banned the whip as they originally wanted to do! They now have no number of hits with the whip in their rules, which is what the ru,es in NZ should be as well. It was just plain stupid when HRNZ brought the rule in with no consensus of support whatsoever and now it is such a confusing and hard to fathom rule! There are injustices involved with the way it is monitored or not monitored! The ship rule is just as Stupid as the other plainly stupid rule they introduced in regards to being able to lodge a protest when there as been interference!!!!!!

Does anyone know what the whip rule currently being used in Oz is, or is it a free for all. Some of them are hitting at least 20 times which is good if you have backed that one. Most drivers are not as meek and mild as our ones are. After we get racing back I imagine our drivers will be wanting to make u for lost time, to try and get some money back!!!
