  1. Seriously Ranga, you have got major problems when you are posting at 4.0 a.m in the morning!!!! Take a sleeping pill!
  2. Ranga, go and get a hobby! I warned you before about calling me a liar. You are a fruit loop! You need treatment that no one on here can give you unfortunately! Refrain from replying to any of my comments or I am gone, Can’t be bothered with your antagonistic BS In 2020
  3. Dickhead!!
  4. So what we are saying is that Mark Purdon targeted Greymouth stakes as well by racing 2 horses in 2006? I still don’t believe that he raced many horses at Greymouth at all!!
  5. Whiteman, America only know about mile racing that is all they know. There horses are bred for speed rather than stamina so that is what they race! Why I am not sure! Went to the Meadowlands a few years ago and racing was yes boring although was worth seeing as a bucket list item! Wagering may be increasing but imagine how much better it would be with distance racing? Look if our clubs want to program racing over a mile then that is their prerogative however if they think It works to retain punters and attract new ones, they are in cuckoo land!
  6. 100% correct. NZ clubs need to abandon this mile racing now! American racing is terrible and always has been racing over a mile and if they continue to run miles they deserve what they get.
  7. When a Sonic Reign can go 1.53 odd for a mile it shows how overrated black print is with 2.0 minute mile rates! Sonic Reign is a less than average horse but won in that time but wouldn’t have a dogs show of ever winning a race at Addington!!! Watched the racing and wasn’t that excited with it however it does allow poor horses to win due to the short distances. If Sonic Reign can go 1.53 imagine times over a mile that good horses could go?
  8. Don’t remember them at all! What year did they race at Greymouth do you know? Certainly didn’t win much or I would remember them! Purdon clearly didn’t dominate Greymouth races back then like he plunders all the big races nowadays!!!
  9. We are lucky to have Trackside but we were told that when they had channels 62 and 63 they were going to accommodate more of the local market. They haven’t done this at all, they try and squeeze in as many meetings from all, over the globe and have next to nothing in The pools
  10. Lol, you have kept box’s of race books going back over a decade of years? Ranga, you disappoint me, I thought you would be able to name all of these horses that Purdon took over to Greymouth and were winning? Must be a memory thing? I wouldn’t have thought that the Rest Home would have sufficient storage in the garage?
  11. Ok so what were these horses that you say he was winning with at Greymouth? He has certainly changed tack on what races he targets if he was taking horses to Greymouth. Personally can not remember him winning many if he was it was very very few!,,
  12. I have selective memory
  13. Ranga, you obviously go back a lot further than I do! What years was he sending horses to Greymouth and can you possibly remember any of his winners. I don’t dwell on past winners, couldn’t even remember Cup winners years, prefer a maiden race any day!
  14. Nelson Trotting Club have been financially short for many years. Clubs that run only 4 meetings a year are hardly going to be financially ok is this day and age. Not sure what happen ended but a few years ago they got picked up in an audit for GST irregularities where they had claimed GST when they should not have and got a bill for $140k to pay!!! If I remember right they were also the Club that hadn’t been paying their Local Body rates as well but may have been another club. Would not be surprised if the racing is not still going in a few years time and the track converted into residential housing.
  15. Was Mark Purdon training in Canterbury when Greymouth track was still open Ranga? If he was I don’t remember him winning races there at all!
  16. Looked at the odds for tomorrow and is there anyone that can see anything worthwhile backing over a mile, as the odds do seem rather short! Sunday racing will always pull in punters that haven’t got much else to do but I really can not see why on earth Nelson has decided to run miles and some stands at that????? Nelson is a club that is struggling financially and is lucky to still be operating and running this meeting wouldn’t be helping their cause!
  17. Greymouth trots were brilliant! Big dividends and no AllStars racing.
  18. Cambridge trots today are going to run at a big loss! Have a look at the tote pools and there is bigger all offloading. When their is only a few hundred in the win and place pools with under an hour to a race there is problems. No way can harness clubs survive when there is a lack of interest from punters unfortunately
  19. Seriously, whoever decided to program mile races needs to give themselves an uppercut!! Standing start mile racing?????? Semi miss away and you are out of it!!! What happened to the 1200metre races that Forbury ran?? Thats right just a blatantly dumb idea.
  20. Harness Racing Clubs are trying to self destroy themselves!,, What is the flippen point in racing over a damn mile? Far too short distance and being so short if you are out the back the front ones aren’t going to be coming back to you!,, Is the blatantly stupid program planning coming from HRNZ or the clubs?
  21. Vintage Rose was an absolute cert in that field the way she had been going! Watch her recent runs over 2200m and she was a moral! Was major overs when she opened up but then again every now and again the Bookies do stuff up.
  22. No kidding Whiteman, that was the point!,
  23. The fact is that they are drab and boring and unpredictable? Not great for encouraging punting
  24. Ranga no point discussing it with you, it is a New Year! Mile racing is drab and not a great punting option for serious punters. Timaru yesterday was far better racing than what Cambridge or Auckland will offer with their crap miles.
  25. Of course you can disagree, at the end of the day the punters will be the voters! Mile racing in the U.S.A is boring and it is here as well. If you are out the back you have got no show unless you are a total freak.
