  1. The thing is that Darren’s horse still won despite being had on! The sooner HRNZ or The Stipes damn well stop worrying about SAFE or Animal Rights people the better! Seriously why should harness bow down to these groups when they haven’t even been worried about the HARNESS whip???? They are more concerned with chickens, pigs etc! Basil, or anyone else, can you please enlighten everyone as to what the current whip rule is in Australia? Bearing in mind that HRNZ panicked when Oz brought in the no whip rule, which we now know is never going to be enforced in Oz because the drivers will not accept it and secondly it is downright dangerous!
  2. Taku, he wanted to hold the lead at all costs, so he was tapping the horse continuously to maintain the lead! Clearly the Stipes do not expect a driver to be using the whip to maintain the lead despite another horse having you on for a distance! Hammer him with a big fine is the way to go so it can teach the young upstart that is on Fire a lesson and cut him down a peg or two! Lets suspend him for 6 days the next time we can nail him on anything, if not the first day, then the second day! We can not have young drivers breaking our blatantly stupid rules and we need to try and justify our huge salaries.
  3. Totally agree Counter Punch! Far better opportunity to make money when the fields are rough!
  4. Opinionated, always correct etc.etc.
  5. Basil, you plonker, I have never told a porky yet on A blog site! Name one? When the whip rule for harness was brought in there was no issue with it from SAFE whatsoever, They jumped the gun due to what the Ozzie’s were doing and they overturned their rule because it was stupid. HRNZ left with egg on their faces! Change it back! Basil give up as you have no legitimate case or defence!
  6. It was on the media, distinctly remember it being said by a lady from Safe!
  7. Not sure tomorrow, depends on the driver! Will he whack hard 10 times which is just fine? Will he tap it for 11 times and get fined or suspended? Does he know how to count to 10 while he is concentrating on steering the horse in the straight? Must be very easy thing to do, count and concentrate, and if you stuff up by one tap then you should get fined or suspended, to supposedly appease S.A.F.E who didn’t give a rats about the harness whip at the time! The fact that it was amended has probably brought it to their attention! Harness Racing in NZ has a lot more pressing issues than Trying to hammer the lesser light drivers in NZ! Way to go Stipes, you are classics, yay we can count to over 10! This is what justifies our existence and our high salaries, because you couldn’t make it in driving, so you became Stipes! Harsh, but true! Get HRNz To amend the stupid rule before you lose more out of the industry.
  8. A lady from SAFE stated that the harness whip was not on S.A.F.Es agenda! Not made up at all!
  9. What you mean Happy, never should shoot in the dark, as it can get you in trouble.
  10. Oldwhiteman, stick to your wheelchair racing!
  11. YanKiwi, retarget my energies to what? The RIU are enforcing the rules that HRNZ brought in without thinking clearly and they have changed the wording now from what it started out as! FFS, the rule is a blatant nonsense the way it is enforced with the no. Of hits etc. S.A.F.E. We’re not even damn interested in the harness whip, they said have said that! There are horses in every race that probably get hit harder than the horses that are affected by the drivers who get charged for the no. Of hits! NZ cups have been won by drivers that have been charged with excess whip no.s, but they didn’t care because the fine was insignificant in relation to stakes won! Look I appreciate it that they are enforcing a blatantly stupid rule that was brought in! Does everyone agree with every rule that is brought in, in everyday life?? There is a 30km per hour rule in some parts of town, whkch is a totally ridiculous effen rule, and does everyone follow that? Even the police don’t follow it, as I see them going a damn sight quicker than that! Hopefully commonsense will eventually prevail, otherwise harness in NZ will continue to decline as the young ones will not bother!! I am expecting the normal Miller’s to come on and have a go at Brodie, but don’t give a rats, as “I am on the money” as usual!!!
  12. Seriously, what the hell do they get out of trying to destroy the income and livelihood of drivers that are trying hard to win? The Stipes are really not doing the industry a service at the moment, and need to pull, their heads in and realistically! Any clown could do,a better job than what they are showing! Personally have no gripes with any of them, just believe that they are acting totally unrealistically, and without any common sense quite often!!!!!!
  13. Yes, well, done once again Stipes who have Just hammered Darren Keast who has just had the most amazing start to his training career! personally haven’t been a big fan of his driving record until he took out a training license and is totally on fire! All his horses went amazing on the West Coast circuit and his driving was so much better as well! The Stipes deemed it right to stand down this very promising trainer /driver for 6 racing days for his drive on Midas Touch who he wanted to win with!!! The stiles say that he hit the horse excessively according to the blatant stupid rule of 10 hits inside the 400metres! Well effen change the effen rule HRNZ because it is so effen wrong and if you can’t work that out then you are down right incompetent!! Admit you brought the rule in without the support it needed and the approval of the drivers concerned! Why the heck do you want to drive our young people out of the industry that is clearly struggling at the moment, and amidst operation Inca etc. If you watch the video of Race 1 on the second day at Nelson, Darren Keast is not hitting the horse excessively at all, in fact the effort he was putting in was less than other drivers in other races! Brodie speaks on behalf of many of the drivers who have been fined and or suspended for this rule that needs an OVERHAUL and AMENDMENT!! Take the no. Of hits out of the blatantly stupid rule that is current!!! Basil, don’t bother!!!
  14. Straight from the horses mouth basically! Yes, as Brodie stated, Feel The Money is a very good mare! She will be back, and look out! Good win yesterday Nigel by your other horse up In Nelson, Tuapeka Trick! Keep up the excellent work you and Brenda are doing in trying to het new owners into harness racing!
  15. Joe Kidd, totally agree with you! Robert Dunn when interviewed stated that Feel The Money had more ability than the winner of that last race Spot On! FTM and that doesn’t stand for Fart Too Much had poor draws both days! Huey Lewis went good both days from far better draws. All you can do is win which is what Huey did, FTM had to do plenty of work from the bad draws. FTM may not have backed up that well from the first days run, but she did actually run the last half far faster than what Huey Lewis did and she was wide without cover! No need to debate much more as your opinion against mine and Joe Kidd and the proof will be in the next few months.
  16. Of course he got plenty of wins from those horses, but how many more with a decent driver that wanted to win! The fact that his horses always go better when they come up to Regan Todd’s does say something though
  17. Fair enough on today’s run Long Owner! Dont think Feel The Money backed up after tough run the first day! Put it this way I still maintain that Feel The Money is a better horse than Huey Lewis!!! Huey went better today than the first day and Feel The Money went better the first day than Huey! To be fair she probably should’ve finished stronger today but she was 3 wide without any cover? Proof will be in the next few starts won’t it!
  18. Old Whiteman, he deserves serious bagging! His willingness to win or put his horses into a race has to be questioned! How do you class him as being an excellent horseman? If it is his ability to want to win as many races as he can, then you are seriously deluded!
  19. Longowner, sorry but don’t agree with you that Huey is a better horse than Feel The Money!!! Feel The Money would’ve won for fun and won by several lengths if she had lead up!! She has gone some tremendous races in her short career. Show day 3 wide without cover from the 800m and only beaten by Mossdale Rose who had cover and home in 55 last half. Kaikoura win was just outside the track record and she won with a leg in the air! Auckland didn’t suit her. She ran 3rd behind Elle MAC and Bettor Joy I 3 year old fillies after doing more work than those two! She is as good as any of the horses in Nelson this weekend including the ones in the Cup!
  20. Who really cares, yawn fest and no money to be made Maiden races will be more interesting
  21. Not mad, just want the harness sport to survive!,
  22. Export the AllStars to Oz, I told you that already.
  23. Flagship, agree re the classic racing but still need the passing lane lol
  24. Would rather have an interesting race of slightly lower class horse than the pathetically boring race we are going to have tonight! Purdon will totally dominate once again! yawn!!!!!!!
  25. At least we won’t get “Ribbon of Light” or if we do Aaron is pretty confused and probably needs attention!
