Yes it was in the article yesterday, about the Stratford course being closed, it mentioned Mot. being one of the tracks on the hit list amongst many others. Kapiti T.C. Race at Otaki on Friday and Sunday as they normally do this time of year. I beleive that normally they have pretty good sized fields but this year the numbers are pathetic. Nine races and only about 64 horses lining up at this stage, so on average only 7 per race! Michael House has taken approx 9 up and has one in every race! Maybe he could win the whole card? The Thing is, it Must have been touch and go whether they raced If House hadn’t taken up 9? There is no way that this meeting could be profitable for the club and the TAB, so what is the future of the Central Districts Harness? I note from an article today that Motukarara is a course that looks like it may well be closed down at some stage!!! Interesting times for racing in this country!

JJ Flash, Cross Codes, Newmarket to a lesser degree and one or two others have come over from the Darkside as they are now totally bored with RC. They are only trying disrupt the premier racing site Bit Of A Yarn because the other far inferior, almost destroyed site is almost history. The ones who are trying to destroy this site need to lift their game because you are clearly transparent in what you are trying to do! Go back and totally destroy your own site and then put your feet up and just watch how this site continues to improve without your waste of time input!

Clint Ford does not drive very often as we all know, as the Tomlinson’s seem to do all Ken Ford’s driving! Not too sure why Clint drives Marcoola as it is basically the only one he does drive for the team! Ken Ford is a massively underrated trainer of trotters and the whole family is an asset to harness racing in Canterbury! Yes Marcoola is an extremely good trotter and deserves A Good Driver and I am sure that Clint will stand down if he stuffs up in Australia!

Clint knows the horse and personally think that he has done a very good job of driving Marcoola! There are a ton of other drivers I would sack on other horses before Clint Ford on Marcoola!

Yes he would’ve been one of the first, if not the first! He ran in at least one NZ Cup when the fields were even and decent! Won at Westport, Reefton and then Greymouth. They closed Greymouth and then you had to win at Westport both days and then Reefton I beleive, then they canned the bonus for some reason!

Problem for racing is that if the new punters coming thru get into solely into sports punting, then racing will not see the money! It costs heaps to run any racemeeting and if not enough is wagered then meetings won’t happen eventually! Burying your heads in the sand won’t help either! Hopefully Racing will improve but no punters and no racing, end of storey

Happy, you are correct in regards to the betting movements with Fixed Odds! You can put buggerall on for a place and they cane both the win and place odds! There are some things that are ok with the new system but it ain’t $40m worth that’s for sure! TAB only interested in getting young ones into sports punting, that is why the live betting appears first, no other reason!

What is the point of trialling once. It will go to the trials where there are 2 or 3 and do everything right and be back racing and breaking again! The other maiden is a lunatic that has got no hope in hell of ever winning a race, and Don would be better off jumping out of the cart and putting a decent driver on it! If it can’t trot then, sack it and retire it!!
