Basil, you are totally incorrect on several scores. I have not mentioned anyone’s name whatsoever, and do not intend to do so. Bronson clearly has issues that he needs help with. He is a young man in a competitive industry and how the hell is broadcasting his name in lights in a bad way is going to help him I am not too sure. As I said previously he has not physically abused anyone or ripped anyone off financially! The old saying goes something like “sticks and stones may break your bones but names may never hurt me” The Charlotte and Sheree never lodged any complaint with the RIU apparently! Someone with a vendetta has contacted the journalist with this story that he can sensationalise because of the racial abuse that Bronson was supposed to have said! You are correct that racing doesn’t need negative press at all and yet this journalist is happy to print this gutter journalism and how the heck he can live with himself if this drives Bronson out of the industry I can’t comprehend! Look, everyone will have an opinion on this, and no the girls shouldn’t have to tolerate verbal abuse I agree, but there is undulating circumstances that haven’t been mentioned. Also who reported it to the journalist even though no complaint from the girls was made? Bronson I am sure will have regrets and probably knows he shouldn’t have said things verbally to the girls but to have it brought out in the media for everyone to see is well over the top and does not help a young man who is trying to make his way in life in a very hard industry. Brodie, As you know tells it the way it is, and I personally believe that a bit more compassion should be shown to this young man that needs a bit of help rather than trying to destroy him emotionally and financially. The journalist should hang his head in shame for printing that crap!!!!!

Happy, I am not into ruining people’s reputations sorry! Who broke the story to the media? What else happened that night? Gutter journalism is not my forte! Story should never ever been printed, why ruin a dedicated young persons career for a few words in the heat of the moment?...
-
Totally agree that Bronson should not have given the girls a gobfull. I remember seeing the race and after the line I couldn’t tell, whether it was lighthearted banter or serious! There actually is a helluva lot more to this story than was printed by the media, and who reported this story to the media is the interesting point and is really garbage journalism and didn’t need reporting. FFS there is abuse to malr and females everyday In the workforce and socialising and that isn’t reported is it? Is it due to the racial comment on the football field that has brought this up or is it someone holding a vendetta against someone???? Obviously Bronson Has a bit of an impulsive nature which is not uncommon amongst many of our young nowadays! Seriously though how would you appreciate it if your child who is trying really hard to make a name for himself in the harness industry makes headlines for the wrong reason??? Bronson does not have the might of a big harness name behind him so will battle to make a living out of the industry and after this, who knows he may give it away? Brodie personally believes that there is far more to this story than what has been printed and didn’t need to be made into headlines. Sorry, but FFS twice he has impulsively used words that he probably wishes he hadn’t, but FFS he didn’t use any violence against anyone, he didn’t sexually abuse anyone, he didn’t rip anyone off financially etc. and yet he is hung out to dry by this journalist who has not written both sides of the storey. Anyone can have a crack at “The Brodster” because I can stand up for what I think is right, but poor Bronson Munro has been dealt a severe blow to his career and life by some pretty mediocre comments. Many Of us have been subjected to BS and abuse from people including from Fart Too Much and Scoobs and yet it isn’t put in the media!!! Firmly believe that Bronson Munro has been shafted when it wasn’t required to be! Someone has stuffed here bigtime and the journalist needs to do his job and think more about what he writes before he presses the print button!!!!

Totally Rangatira, but you could probably drive me to drink! The fact is that Blair’s book of drives was not a helluva lot better than Mathew Williamson’s book of drives on paper. The fact is that Blair is a gifted and talented reinsman, The fact is that the Williamson’s would never have been at $5 in the Drivers Challenge if Dexter was taken out of the Fixed Odds market!! The fact is that both of the Williamson’s drive the Forbury track very well and are often favourites to take out drivers challenges when they drive down south, that is the point I was trying to make. As I say semantics only and got nothing to do with the original posting!
-
With respect Rangatira, I do not set the markets for fixed odds for harness racing. It is not an exact science and most of the time the Bookies are just guessing and if there is a big punt then they either restrict the amount and then adjust the price. The fact that any other driver may have been 5 times less likely to win than Blair has nothing to do,with it as the market was framed around Dexter clearly winning. Matthew Williamson had a very good book of drives. He had 2 wins which have him 6 points as to Blair’s 11 I think! Matthew also had 4 fourths so he was close up several times but no points. Had the fourth placed horses tried a bit harder then he would have finished very close to Blair even at least drawn. Matthew Williamson and brother Nathan have won numerous drivers challenges over the years including a Forbury and I would be sure that there is no way that Blair would’ve been as short as $1.12 or thereabouts. Only semantics anyway as it never happened.
-
I obviously do not set the odds, but Blair would not have been as short as $1.12 Nathan and Matthew Williamson both had a good book of drives and there were others as well.

Always hate the old shagpile carpet?
-
Borntobeastar, pulled too hard outside the leader, which is never a great thing! Driver says that Ashburton run last week probably flattened her. She will be back!
-
Are you keen on redheads??
-
Are you sure about that Rangatira? There were other drivers who had good books as well like Robbie Close etc. He wouldn’t have been anywhere near as short as that!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I thought people hadn’t noticed,
-
Welcome over from the dark side Westview!
-
It was flat even when it got checked and then showed absolutely nothing in the straight! Why Tim would start it in the Cup I am not sure because it has no chance and I am sure he is scratching his head about how it is going. He is a great miler when at his best but is not in the same class as his stablemate now!
-
Happy, you can not do that!,,, The Animal Rights activists will be up in arms as cruelty to horses!
-
Flagship, wouldn’t say dead just yet, but certainly not looking promising while Scoobs and Farty are at the helm. Probably need to appoint liquidators in the future though!
-
If Borntobeastar trots all the way, she would have to win the way she has been going. She is by far the quickest in the field and has a bright future as she is only a 3 year old. Last start overraced and had them covered until about 100m out and wasn’t beaten much by Flyinover and she won again last night in good field. Wouldnt back her at $2 odd though. Fields are abit small to get good odds but there definitely is money to be made on a few of the races.
-
Brodie on the money once again CrossCodes. My Field Marshall showed that he is not very flash at middle distance. Yes he was checked but was battling at the time and showed that he would have absolutely no chance in the NZ Cup if Tim Butt was silly enough to bring him over, but I think you will find that he will only be concentrating on the shorter distances. As for Let It Ride, geez he has improved a ton since being in Oz. Yes he always showed p,entry here, but what a win tonight!! GOOOOOO BOOOOOY YEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAA Go the mighty ALLSTARS shit, sorry he not AllStars.
-
The thing with Blair Orange is that he drives so consistently and seems to know a horses ability or limitations. Very rarely does he have a poor drive and clearly does his homework.
-
Resort but I believe it has gone through to the keeper with you , on this one! Notging too hard for Brodie! To get money invested on the Drivers Challenge all they had to do was take Dex out of the market, Blair as favourite and then whoever else that had a few drives in and then any other driver. Doubt whether there would’ve been that much invested on the challenge initially!
-
When there is a stinking hot favourite take them out, Then frame it from there! They can do anything with a bit of thought,
-
Ok I will own it if that makes you feel better! I did say probably didn’t I?
-
Rangatira, sorry but what part of what is the point of the TAB Bookies offering a drivers challenge market when there is a stinking hot favourite at$1.06 do you not understand?
-
Of course I shouldn’t be restricted! The point of the posting was that with such short priced favourites in the market it totally stunts wagering on that event. How many clowns took Dexter at $1.06? No one in Their right mind! How many took Blair? Hopefully quite a few but surely they need to be looking at things to attract the most wagering?? I didn’t actually say that Dexter was going to win the drivers challenge either, it was just the ridiculously short odds not worth taking!!!
-
Just take Dexter out and then Blair would be the favourite and adjust it accordingly. Pointless really when something is so damn short, defies any sort of logic as you would have to be a bit simple to back Dex at 1.06
-
Yes I know I have brought this up before, but I am hoping that someone from the TAB is reading the posts on this great site! The Drivers Challenge at Forbury tonight has Dexter Dunn at $1.06 to win it and then B,air at $7.00 Clearly they think Dexter is going to win it so is there anyone who would wager enough at $1.06 to make it worthwhile so it is hardly a CHALLENGE! Some might back Blair at 7 but they are probably dreaming if they think they are going to collect! Why on earth don’t they just take Dexter out of the Challenge it would make it far more interesting and the TAB is going to get more money on as it is hard to see anyone with much nouse investing! Same with Fixed Odds win and place when there is a totally stinking hot favourite that would need to fall over to lose like we have had a couple of times recently!!! Makes too much sense though for the TAB, so prove me wrong TAB and start taking the stinking hot favourites out of the Fixed Odds betting!! !
