Not too sure how much homework the NZ TAB Bookies do to set fixed odds? There are many horses racing at Adding tonight that are at ludicrously short odds, that even the poorest punter wouldnt be enticed to, you would think? OBSESSION for instance in the last race is at $2.20 to win?????? Why on earth is it that short? Yes many tipsters are tipping it out and it is trained by Amanda Telfer and their team goes very well! However on what it has shown in 2 trials at Rangiora since it came down from the North Island, surely you couldnt support it?? First trial was not that flash and its last one, it did win but basically beat non winners and didnt go very quick, so can not see how it could be $2.20? Not a strong field at all but there are one or two others in there that warrant your $! Could it win, of course as Telfer wouldnt line it up, but jeez have to grow a leg on what I have seen recently!

Reality is that nurses were forced to take the jabs, or they had no job! All that Pfizer has done is weaken the nurses immune system and the fact that so many have caught it just shows what a waste of time it is, and is going to affect their health in the future. It is so ironic that all the nillers in government that promoted the shite, have tested positive! And yet the majority of the Purebloods, including myself have had nothing!

Thanks Harrison and Gammalite. So I personally believe that the trainers should not be using carts that the horse is not used to! Think it is less than average when the Owner and Punter are relying on the trainer to be professional and put a sulky on the horse that ensures that it doesnt hit anything. They must surely be well aware of the needs of the horse due to its action and not swap carts and hope that it will be ok! Surely this is a gear issue that warrants a fine just like other gear issues? What I do know is that it happens far to often!

So often you read in the Stewards report and elsewhere, that harness horses get fired up due to their legs hitting the wheels lr discs to the sulky! Does anyone know why this happens? Surely the horse doesnt have a change of stride length from race to race? Has the sulky been put on wrong or has the hopple length been altered? Very hard to understand what has happened and you would think the regular driver would be able to see somethi was wrong i. The warmup even if the horse was not at full stride??

Gamma, firstly whether you think $500 is a big bet depends on your income/ asset position! If you can not afford to wager $500 then you probably wont! As to punting amounts, I know that I will get enough collects to always be able to make money, so whether I offload $50 or $5k is irrelevant. I reiterate that I do not consider a bet of $500 @$1.75 to be worth announcing on Trackside! You are probably right in the loss of enjoyment thing due to wagering! I got pretty sour when the betting restrictions were initiated by the NZ TAB as I believe that all punters should be treated equally. You are totally correct in regards to having not answered any questions in your harness greats quizz. I knew quite a few of the answers but yeah I do not dwell too much on races of decades ago. Prefer to look to the future than dwell on the past. There are some good punting races tomorrow at Addington!

With respect Gamma, everyone is at different levels . Hard to recover from a $500 loss? You get back on the horse as they say. It is not hard to make money on harness racing, the hardest thing is getting on! I do not need to do it for financial reasons, It is the challenge!, If the NZ TAB allowed me on for more then maybe I would lose the interest of the challenge lol. Seriously in this day and age $500 is hardly a large bet! Yes it is more than what most wager but it is hardly a significant amount! The NZ TAB need to be encouraging wagering as it is he punters that are going to keep harness racing going in NZ! The punters that wager a few dollars each week are going to move on and there are not many new ones coming through! Let the punters on for what is reasonable as they put the odds up, so take them!

Not sure how the NZ Fixed Odds systems works nowadays! Doesn’t seem to be a pattern to when they alter fixed odds at all! A fixed odd can be say $10 from the time the odds are put up until not long before the race starts! Seems very weird that if the horse is worth a go the punters have not had a go well before near race time????? What I do know is last night at Addington the Presenters were quoting the large bets that were on, that was the reason for slashing the fixed odds! Bets of $500 @ $1.75 lol lol lo lol lol unbelievable!! Shit $500, WOW, I wouldnt be wasting my time if that is how some punters offload! How on earth is $500 a big bet??????

You are correct! Although the horse has been previously trained by an Amateur trainer, it has shown nothing for years. There was a lot of money go on it by the look of it for last Sunday’s race. Yes it won a trial at Rangiora, but it was flat out to win that against a couple of poor horses! Personally wouldve had to grow a couple of legs to be competitive in that race as it has absolutely very little speed or toughness. There should never have been any questions asked about Pocket Call’s performance as it is not a racing proposition in NZ.

Walt, the truth is that the Pfizer jab is not a vaccine and never will be. The reality is that people were conned into getting it becausevthey called it a Vaccine. Paleface, you are correct the stake money for harness racing has gone backwards hugely compared to Australia, Horses are able to be place much easier and there is little prospect of things improving in NEW ZEALAND with the decisions being made by hierarchy. Hopefully things can be maintained here as harness racing is an exciting industry when things were going well here. There have been many decisions made that has been detrimental to racing and I can see many participants pull stumps in the next few years!

Totally baffled as to who would have been stupid enough to be backing POCKET CALL? Totally hopeless for a long time and was not worth racing it, although the trainer/ driver wouldnt exactly rate in my top 10 drivers. Yes it won at the Rangiora trials but it was full out to beat the other couple and they are both pretty poor horses. On that trial run unless it improved a ton, then there was very little chance of it being in the money. Matt Purvis is a very good trainer and always improves horses that are not going very well, but personally can not see Pocket Call being a profitable venture as it is one paced and is well past its best, by the look of it.
