  1. Many reasons for harness decline Forbury. There has been a lack of promotion to get new people into harness racing for decades and is now even harder to attract them. The existing enthusiasts and punters are turned off by the actions of both the TAB and HRNZ decisions, so much needs to be changed or the industry will continue to suffer!
  2. Alexandra Park track is stuffed from all of the rain Forbury! Going to be awhile before anymore racing at Auckland. Great to see big fields at Cambridge.
  3. There has to be some system that encourages Juniors to get drives so they get experience. Maybe more Junior drivers races being held but it won’t work in the North as they haven’t enough going ones with licenses. The point is that there are several Juniors that are far better than many of the Senior drivers and will continue to get heaps of drives. This is great that they can get drives but yes it does come at the expenses of the other drivers. Maybe the concessions should be for Juniors under say 30 wins or such.
  4. The handicapping system they operate with at the moment doesn’t work. when you have 10 win horses racing 1 win horses seems crazy. Yes it keeps some horses racing and earning money but it also drives owners to sell overseas.
  5. I am sure Mark will be a good trainer of galloper’s and it is likely he will eventually have quite a few in his stable. Gallopers are not that hard to train and he is looking to take things a lot easier as he isn’t getting any younger!! No doubt the galloping enthusiasts will not agree that training gallopers is easier than harness.
  6. Well done if you got onto him. I dont bet into the tighter type races xo havent been following him at all, however Looking at how he had been going snd opposition I couldnt have had him.
  7. Brodie always gives the honest truth !
  8. To be fair though, she had a nUDR over .3000 last season and was in the first 3 on 41 from 95 drives, so that is really Good even if she is driving the AllStars horses. Do not really think Purdon would put Olivia on if he didnt rate Her?
  9. You aren’t rating Donnelly?
  10. You could not back Warloch at all with the way it had been going! Same when it won at Kaikoura! Form book is thrown out the window when horses that have been going poorly, actually come out and win!!!
  11. Why on earth would I be looking at the TAB website for gallops, Ranga???Wash your mouth out!
  12. Have seen the Option no. On Trackside Ranga!
  13. they are brought out far earlier and they did have option no.s
  14. Seriously, they are meant to be Bookies. The odds are always in their favour and if they continue to drive punters away then harness will suffer bigtime. They need to either step up or open it up to competition from overseas, as their current performance is very poor. Nowornever is probably on the mark when he says that the bigger punters are pretty rare now! A big bet worth mentioning on Trackside seems to be $200 now!
  15. Where is this race being run?? NZ? They are almost all Kiwi horses, doesnt Australia breed Standardbreds over there??
  16. So why are the gallopers headies treated differently?????? If you can not get decent money on, then they may as well wipe having them again!!!!!!
  17. Great that the NZ TAB brought back the “Head to Heads “ for harness!!! However, what is the point when you seem to be able to invest on them on your account???? Do not believe you can take them Or Power Plays at agencies, pub tabs or on course as there does not appear to be any OPTION NUMBERS!!!!!! It is pretty clear that the TAB is not interested in attracting punters money or they would be providing OPTION NUMBERS to enable punters to GAMBLE!!! If Brodie is wrong in what he says, I would be delighted to be proven that I am not on the money!!
  18. It would appear that with the success of the ozzies and Kiwis over in the States, there will be others that go as well. John Dunn has also mentioned ithat he may well be going in the next few years as well. Things need to change but We are not seeing too much being done for the betterment of the industry.
  19. Current UDR Carter Dalgety .4902 Sarah O’reilly .1440 You would have to think that Carter is the better driver at this stage by quite a lot and definitely the equal of Dexter in only his second season of driving? Best UDR of any Junior ever for 15 drives or more?
  20. World has gone mad with this BS that we are money launderers and/or sending money overseas to support terrorism!! Most people are going to have trouble keeping their families clothed and fed this year
  21. Ranga, so you believe that money launderers are offloading and risking their dirty money on harness racing gambling to win small amounts??? $1k nowadays is next to nothing and insignificant to any money launderer, they wouldnt waste their time, and yet the NZ TAB is happy to lose big turnover for no gain!!!!
  22. Personally havent heard of anyone being restricted on Sports Betting but I am sure that if someone was consistently winning on Sports, they would be restricted! Trying very hard not to comment on the Covid19 BS on BOAY this year as anyone with any intelligence is now aware that the Pfizer so called vaccines have done far more damage than any good, and most were conned by the one that abandoned her team of 4,999,999!
  23. no problem with NZ trying to stop money laundering from criminals or like! However the $1k limit on racing is total BS and the limit needs to be raised to a far higher amount! Money launderers are not going to waste their time with putting bets on of say$300 to potentially lose it on horse racing! You are seriously deluded if you think think the AML limit of $1k is not harming the racing industry! Never have and not going to play their stupid little AML GAME!!!!
  24. BGP are great for racing Gamma! However, they are allowed on for hundreds of thousands and yet others are allowed on to win a few hundred? This Anti Money Laundering Bill excuse they use to ensure that the NZ TAB knows everyone that places bets of $1k or win $1k is a load of BS!!!!! Seriously, they reckon that someone that puts on a small amount and wins $1k is potentially a money launderer???? it is all about total control!
  25. all I ask is for the TAB to play fair! They restrict everyone to the same amount or have no restrictions! When a group like BGP can get hundred of thousands on and others are restricted to microscopic amounts is certainly is not a fair playing ground. They should take the good with the bad as they are a gambling monopoly in NZ for racing. I am up for the challenge but they aren’t which continues to be a disappointment!
