Whoever decided to program a 1609m mobile for trotters, GIVE YOURSELF AN UPPERCUT! What another stupid programming decision to run a race at Addington on a bloody bend! You have once again seen that no race should ever be run over a mile at Addington !!!!!! It is lunacy and if you think it is a worthy distance at Addington you are deluded! What is the point in starting a race at the worst possible position on the track, of course you are going to get horses breaking and others disadvantaged! Seriously????
-
You are totally correct, the race is now nothing like it used to be with the best horses all starting off their season. To be fair though if AllStars Stable had their horses ready to race it would be even worse, as they would clean up as usual. It is a bit average though when they are racing for $15k and the non winning trotters are racing for a few grand less. Anyway if you are having a go tonight good luck, hope you get plenty.

Who Would’ve Thought?? Addington half of the field!!
Brodie replied to Brodie's topic in Trotting Chat
Reality is that you only need to look thru the fields of the tighter class racing at Addington and see the stake money earned by the horses. Many earn say $100k for example Prince Teka has won a bit over $100k for 115 starts and nine wins. Yes it is owner trained but imagine if it was trained by a fulltime trainer all the stake money would be eaten up by the training costs and doubt there would be anything left. Yes a lot of enjoyment for the connections no doubt which is all it can be as you couldnt do it for the financial purpose. Not hard to make $100k legally without the effort and length of time involved racing horses nowadays. -
Who Would’ve Thought?? Addington half of the field!!
Brodie replied to Brodie's topic in Trotting Chat
Michael House continues to train what seems to be a helluva lot lf horses. Most of them seem to have come from other trainers and I am wondering if there is some type of training for a percentage of the stake money arrangement going on?? If there is, I can not see how it is profitable for him with the cost of everything nowadays! If a horse was in work for a full year without much of a break, it would cost approx. $30,000 I would estimate. Therefore a horse would need to be winning possibly 5 races in that year to break even! You can see why syndication is becoming more popular and going to be very difficult to attract new owners, with the increased cost of living! Michael House deserves credit for keeping fields up in size not only at Palmy but Addington as well now! -
Michael House has bailed out the Manawatu Club over many seasons with providing heaps of horses for racing! Now who wouldve thought that he would be providing half of the field at Addington On Friday night. An eight horse 55-64 race over 1950m has four Michael House trained horses running! There has been a fair bit of racing recently but is it a major worry for harness racing at Addington when Mr House has to provide half of the field or the race would not be run and the other 4 horses included in another race? Bear in mind that it was suggested I believe that Michael House is looking at going over to the gallopers Darkside!

SpatchCock, I do not live in Auckland and only been to Alexandra Park the once! So why was the Alexandra Park track designed for horses to run righthanded?? Do t see the grandstand being an issue as how many people actually go to watch the racing there nkwadays, and Addington used to have a public grandstand halfway down the straight! Surely wouldnt be that hard to alter the track as the current one doesnt work! Remeasuring is hardly a difficult task! Stables location hardly any issue! As for getting more cash, could be an issue but defies any logic how they could lose money on development over the last decade!! If Auckland dont attract more people to wager on their racing, the racing will be goneburger!

The Maori language being shoved down our throats is just WOKE BS and needs to stop!!!!!! Why do we need to have it as it has absolutely no benefit to anyone! No one knows what the Dickheads are saying so what is the point and it is not a language even used very much by Maori! Who ever hears Maori speaking Maori in the street and it ks not a language spoken overseas as well! Changing street names and public services and buildings is just utter BS and no one knows what is what or able to pronounce the names. If you want to learn the Maori language then go for it but stop forcing an obsolete language on everyone in NEW ZEALAND!
-
It would probably help. There are even men that are officials at women netball ffs Seriously things have gone down hill with all this WOKE BS! I do worry about what is going on and being taught in schools nowadays that it is OK to be a bloke and dress up in women’s clothing FFS! The kids havent got a clue what sex they are as it is a free for all, you can identify as anything you want!!! Absolute lunacy and parents with kids at school need to speak up against it before your son comes home in DRAG!!!

You are correct that it has lost confidence. Went pretty good first up and now it has galloped 3 of its last 4 starts. It has gate speed but didnt show any today but seemed to gallop as Katie pulled on the right side rein. I see it has to trial satisfactorily behind the mobile once before it races again! Horse will perform ok at a trial as early as this week and be back next week no doubt. Needs more than a trial to gain confidence I would say, but it has got enough ability to win a race.
-
Mr Cock, why do you say that? Instead of coming on and being antagonistic, kindly contribute with the reason you say that if you are able? Please explain why Alexandra Park is the only main track in Australasia that needs to race right handed????? There is an issue with the track for horses racing on it so why can it not be amended to be consistent with the rest of Australasia ? It is well known that a lot of horses have trouble racing at Auckland!!!!!!!
-
Got no idea what Katie has done to this horse. Previously well mannered over the last 4 starts she has had a SHOCKER! Today drawn 2 you would’ve thought she would’ve sent the horse to the front, but NO! Horse paced away and then if you watch the replay, it appears that Katie yanked on the rein then Watch Me galloped once again. No I didnt back her this week as it was in a tougher field than it has raced the last couple of weeks. In fact I didnt bother at all today as The fields were more even than they have been for awhile on the Sunday and no value seen. Watch Me needs to be sorted out before it turns up at the races again, and would actually suggest Katie puts on a driver that can control the horse as it is just not fair on the PUNTERS!!!
-
Lol yeah I was being facetious when I mentioned men would be playing netball next! To be fair you probably could be questioning their manhood!
-
Agree, rugby sevens, netball etc seems to be odd being at the Commonwealth Games. This inclusion of women in sport is just WOKE BS! World gone mad when women want to be paid as much as the men!! Too many women doing interviews and presenting mens sports on TV . Women refereeing rugby league, gone too far now! What next there will be men playing netball! Great that women are playing their various sports and a few sports are worth watching including beach volleyball! However they do not bring in the sponsorship amounts that mens sports bring in and never will. Women’s rugby and cricket aren’t really worth watching but each to their own.
-
What is unbelievable Freda??? Why can they not change to lefthanded racing with alterations???
-
So basically you agree with me Kane! To be fair there is a heck of a difference between a standardbred racing with a sulky on and plenty of gear and a galloper with a saddle oN racing on a bigger grass track!!! Not that I follow Ozzie gallops but there seems to be left and right tracks in most if not all States! In NZ the only track raced on for the last few decades going right handed is Alexandra Park! The truth and reality of the matter is that punters are not being enticed to wager on Alexandra Park as the racing is pretty boring! When the biggest city in NEW ZEALAND, Auckland on a Friday night and the only meeting on with comingled pools can only attract $6 to $7k on the win and place pools, there is a major issue!!!! Punters do not like the racing and currently there is no way that they are running at a profit! Why do they race the wrong way around when every other harness track race left hand including all of the Ozzie harness metropolitan tracks???! Auckland needs to do something to entice the punters or it is Doomed!
-
The racing at Alexandra Park is awful on the whole! Why do they race right handed??! What is the reason that they can not race the correct way around with an alteration or two?? Surely if they can put a man on the moon and save thousands of lives from Covid death they could right what is wrong??? This would entice more owners and trainers to race at Auckland and improve the poor racing there! The punters are abandoning wagering on Auckland in big numbers, and without them Auckland surely is not economical to race at with the stake money that is being paid out there?
-
Geez I am missing Michael’s posts! Not!
-
Where is “The Spitfire” racing not the same!
-
I know heaps that have tested positive for it as well, and in 99.9% were at least double jabbed! The jabbed always get it worse symptoms as they get weakened immunity and there ks also Breakthrough Covid from the needle. I am a PureBlood therefore my immunity has not been compromised and no I have never tested positive to kt! Most I know who have been jabbed says that there js no way they are having anymore of the shite in them. Makes you laugh when they say it is LONG COVID that is giving people the health issues they now have!! ffs Wake Up it is from the NON VACCINE they call Pfizer!!!!!!
-
Not that I bet into the group races or the bigger stakes races, but handicapping would actually make the races more fair! Part of the reason so many owners sell their horses overseas is that it is difficult to make money racing horses in NZ. If the top horses were handicapped in the stands it would give more horses a chance.
-
Not much the government says! There is just so much information out there about the Pfizer toxins and the effects of taking it into your body, but you wont see it on mainstream tv!!! Problem is that most that have been sucked in by Ardern and Bloomfield just do not want to believe that they have been conned and likely to have been damaged from it!
-
Gamma, not picking on them, just pointing out that the owners clearly felt that taking the money from a sale in their opinion was going to be more lucrative than racing them in NZ! They all showed good ability but it was not going to be financially viable to continue to race here, so they were sold like hundreds lf horses each year. None of them would have been that competitive in a race such as the Dominion! Good to see that there is a market to Oz for owners in NZ that feel that their horse has a brighter future over the ditch!
-
Yes there are some champion horses bred in Oz for decades! However the average standardbred NZ is superior and always has been. If you put the non winners in Oz against the Kiwi horses they would be totally outclassed. You only have to look at the results every week that shows our past its best horses making the oZzie ones look mediocre. If this was not the case then why do the Ozzies bother to keep buying from here??
-
Whose second Group 1 Spatchcock?
-
Put it this way Ranga, everyone that I know that has tested positive have been DOUBLE JABBED with the toxins! The truth of the matter is that everyone that was coerced or stupid enough to be jabbed has weakened immunity plus are having health issues they did not have before they were jabbed! Is it not interesting that the media is advertising health problems that we have not seen before on TV like Shingles and Heart Problems? Reality is that unfortunately people are slowly going to realise that health issues are due to being injected with toxins rather than a VACCINE! Pfizer have published a report that points out the massive no. Of issues due to be jabbed with the experimental toxins that they called a VACCINE but never was or ever going to be!!!!!
