  1. Oooo, those stilletos must hurt the feet.
  2. Hmm. Very. I have $6.10 left for our racing Mecca tomorrow, Timaru. Big day on the punt.
  3. There is a way of navigating around that VC. My son in Perth showed me how . There may be some on here that have enough tech savvy to do the same. The comp may end up for only those really serious and with enough time and money to spend . That may limit it to a small few, which is fine. I watch with interest the comments of Mardigras , Curious and co.
  4. Bit of fun again. Will reinvest my 10 bucks with one each way again. R1 Aveross Ferrari. (Eventually they come in) R5 Mighty George R7. Divinia Bellezza R9. Pats Dragon R11 Countess of Arden There is always Cambridge , Happy.?
  5. Apparently my son who just arrived at Ceduna picked up a Brochure for the Worlds longest golf course. Starts in WA and finishes well into S.A., 1300 km. It's part of a scenic drive that splits the holes into roughly 65km apart. Sounds like a whole heap of fun, as long as it isn't 49 degrees.?
  6. Actually will update that. Top temp in Ceduna was 49. It is still 38 at 8pm tonight. Yeeesh
  7. Just as an aside, and nothing to do with racing. My youngest son and family are moving from Perth to Melbourne and are driving across after having sent the furniture ahead. Get this. They arrived at Ceduna just a while ago to stay the night. The temperature is 48 degrees . I just talked to my daughter in law who hails from Brasil and she said they have never experienced anything like it. 48 degrees. Holy shit that's hot.
  8. Well I made about $2.50 on the day. Long way from $68000 tho.
  9. I was on a single figure hcp then and that course was brutal. After my local course and others I had played on, those greens did my head in. With torn rotator cuffs now, golf is a distant memory.
  10. Went to Rangiora once. Not to the track but to play golf. Greens were like glass, literally. On in regulation and 3 or 4 putts invariably. Never went back.
  11. Gonna spend 10 bucks. One each way on these portfolio horses, just to fill in the day. R3. Diana Harbour 14s ff R4 Pembrooke Blue. 10s ff R6. Aveross Spitfire 65s ff R8. Senorita Margarita 13s f2f R9 Linton Shard 28 tote, surprisingly 9s ff. Bit of fun untill some real meetings come along.
  12. Yes it makes up for the disappointment of seeing Dark Horse injured once again, albeit only a slight tear in the opposite leg. Mark Noonan our manager said Phil was very pleased with the run. I think he is a much stronger horse this time in and will give the AS with Winterfell and Kings Landing some grief come Jewels time. Never to late Mardy .
  13. Good ,then use what little nous you have left and lump it on a certain level winner. Might take you longer to make the same gains but with less risk. Then we have two great outcomes. First you start making money, second you stop whinging on here. Win win I would have thought.
  14. Correct Kakama. Even while trying to find value outside the AS horses in a race it is more prudent to lump on more on a $1.50 fav and know it will win. Most don't like to spend that much money, so the biggest whingers are those that bet smaller and lose trying to find value. And I include myself in those doing that ,at times. One learns from experience.
  15. Mate , I'm subsidised. Being over 65, I need you to keep working , so I can enjoy the subsidy for longer.?
  16. ,A step up , but Phil has a high opinion of this bloke. Would love to see him win this.
  17. Correct. How dare they cast aspersions on our beloved Wairarapa. Great day out and usually well supported for a battling club.
  18. Ok ok. Let's get down to the nitty gritty here. No one on here has yet demonstrated the technical or other reason the AS keep producing top horses. Mostly because most if not all of you aren't privvie to their pre training / training/ nutrition regime , and of course coupled with that their buying power. My take on it as I am in the same boat as most of you , is unlimited access to top stock and probably the ability to discard those that don't measure up. I fail to see that they are so far superior to some other trainers that they can make a mule run 1.52 mile rates. I personally think it is a combination of all the above, and rather than criticise , I kinda applaud them for creating the Empire they have, however you may view it. Being an owner I have seen our horses finish second to the AS barn on many an occasion. Are we getting out, No. Does that make Phill Williamson an inferior trainer. No. And Brods, there are a shit load of owners out there( 40 in ours), it wouldnt make one jot of differrence if they were here or not.
  19. Yeah , the quote " you Kiwis put up with " kinda said it all. Yes we put up with a lot of B.S. including retarded posters like you.
  20. I find it annoying when just numbers come in. Can't we be a little more enterprising.?
  21. No , not tonight. That was pure fluke, caught on the right night. But then if you are not on you don't win anything. To be honest they aren't popping off the page at the moment. There has been a couple I have missed over the Wesport meeting, they just didnt excite me enough to back them. Some good place divvies to be had tonite though.
  22. That's all we can do Pete. Hope. It does spring eternal sometimes. Hopefully tonight at the Ribbon of Light.?
  23. And it doesn't include Jacks Delight ( sorry Robert) so that narrows it down . Some New Year money comming up I feel. On another note. How pathetic it is to see 4 /5/6 win horses starting in one of our most prestigious and iconic races, no matter how good some may look. Indicative of the horse flesh leaving our shores.
  24. Brods, you are missing some great value at the park tonight outside the logical AS juggernaut. Stuff Winton. Email me for them as you probably have no idea. They include one of Roberts and one of Harewoods. Two fairly astute fellows.
  25. Seems to be my lot on the few bets over this period.. Fifth, fifth and filthy fifth.. Not bad for a 3yr old filly, three races in a week or more. Will stay on my Black Booker list will this one.
