  1. Legend. We should have done some all ups on some of our picks. The TAB would be broke and the National debt paid off.
  2. Not as much as I would have liked. First up on grass is always a bit tricky. He shows some potential this bugger, and i will be following him closely.
  3. Bugger, I looked at that happy. Gonna stick with Prestonpans. 20 and 5.80 race 9. Lightly raced but not sure how he will go on the grass. Before blowing his last start he led up a strong field at Adders before peaking late.
  4. Did you get to a trot meeting Brod ?
  5. Yeah but they don t run near world records at Timaru, Brods. Why don't you just treat yourself to a night out at the local track, while you are there. While you are at it , strike up a conversation with some of the locals and gather an insight into why they love mile racing. We can then listen with all ears on your return. ( hopefully) .
  6. Thanks Basil appreciate that.,no I hadnt found it. About to watch it . I hope Brodie watches it too..??
  7. Anyone got the replay site?. Did the usual and went to bed with 30mins to go in the Rugby thinking that was one of the worst performances I have seen. ?????. Really ..

    Anthem

I've said before he is one of my favs, he doesn't know how to run a bad race againsted any opposition . What incredible place money. Hehe$$$$
  9. Donny and Marie Osmond ?. I think I'm going to throw up. Adam Lambert is talented but as camp as a row of frilly tents. And was it a hologram show for M Jackson?. Not really a place that's on my bucket list to be honest.
  10. Yep same here with emails, But we are talking very small investments , so probably explains free $5 every now and then.
  11. That was a monstrous run by that horse.
  12. So much for that , but will stick with Prestopans. Good effort first up againsted some big boys and he showed some tow off the gate. I think he will go places this horse.IMHO
  13. I did a double take tonight looking through the fields at Addington. In race 10 there is a horse called Itsthefinalcountdown. A 5 yr old by Sokys Atom. I have looked at his progeny produced and apart from one 8yr old ,one has to go back about 15 yrs to find a horse racing by this prolific sire. Most go back 20 or 30 yrs. Probably the equivalent of a 150 yr old siring a child. Unbelievable .
  14. Agree. They should increase the 5 to 15 bucks, I might be tempted to have a go more often. ☺️ They are probably only using up what Brodie has lost over the years.
  15. Mines at 60 cents so I must be related.?
  16. Just to throw in a curve ball. Race 5 Rachmaninov. Due for a win , and doesnt get a better chance here. Race 6 ( very impressed with this horses progress) Prestopans , might not win but great place money.
  17. Ive had my TAB account for less than a year and have had about half a dozen top ups with $5. I hardly ever bet now apart from the yearly visit to the Jewels, and only opened one because my daughter gave me 50 bucks for xmas and suggested I indulge. They also give out 10 bucks if you top up with 20, and that was presented last week. Desperation??? My thoughts are that it makes their stats look better without divulging the real story behind it. Someones losing money is propping up a flagging Industry.
  18. Brodie. Price fixing??
  19. The funny thing is even allowing for advances in equine training , nutrition and equipment, times have come down real slow. The 1rst time a sub two minute time was posted was way back in 1899 by a trotter called Star Pointer, and they were running 1.53 back in the 60,s.aka Bret Hanover. Once again I will reiterate that Artificial Insem introduced in the 60,s has narrowed the gene pool down so much that we have generations of clone horses. Every now and then we get an aberration. Don't forget Happy the Little Brown Jug is raced in heats on the same day. So they have to be tough and cleaned winded to run sub 1.50s within hours of each race.
  20. Here's a question Happy. How do you think McWicked would go over 2 miles or in a Victorian Cup . Think he would get 3.56 or near it. I know it is never going to happen , but it might put into perspective the talent Lazarus is. As Basil so rightly said the breed has evolved to run fast sectionals over a mile at least. Lazarus has nothing to prove to anyone frankly, as he has posted world class times over a range of distances. One in a millennium horse. Enjoy.
  21. Thanx Flag. He's a bit suspect from a stand but he got into his work well and finished it off nicely, and barring accidents he should be in for a great season. As for Monty, it's not a bad field and 40 is a way back first up. He would have to have everything go his way, but first 4s definitely. As an aside a full sister to Dark Horse was born the other day and we hope we can add her to the barn. Two excitement machines??.
  22. I don't know if you have noticed , but the whole idea is to run " time". And our maiden would be half the length of the straight behind running 1.54. You are watching the top open class free forallers Brodie, and miles have been the fare in the States since Adam was a cowboy. Get used to it, and if you find it boring don't watch it . If anything is becomming boring , it's yr banal comments.
  23. Burned early, held on from the swoopers. 1.48.4. Lets face it he is a very good racehorse, period. And he is doing us proud as the Wonder from Downunder,.
  24. Hang on. Here is an admittance of guilt in a nutshell. You dont condone their actions. So in a sense you have tarred them already. You havnt any evidence they have undertaken any "actions" to be charged with in the first place. So logically with that statement if they are exonerated I can call you up and berate you for not condoning something that never existed. Kind of an oxymoron. I will stick with Galah here. Contrary to my moniker my name is Rees, and a an owner.
  25. Come on , if he had a virus he would miss a lot of trackwork. You dont just bob up again and run 1.49 off the bat, with limited prep. Bloody hard bunch you lot.
