  1. Really.!!!.We are talking the Racing Idiot Unit here, and the Police who have a history of cock ups. ex. Dot Com. Could be a lot of egg on face here potentially. I say could. Sad in a way it has come to a head right at the time of the Messara recommendations for our Industry.
  2. My thoughts exactly.
  3. Two scenarios here. They either have info on all stables or are looking for a link . Or they are blanket covering to throw everyone off the real or perceived perpetrators if indeed there are any. I suspect the latter.
  4. No one's listening obviously Flag. Is there a 3rd site I can visit.
  5. OOhhh, thats right Fathers Day at Forbury. Like a three legged dog on tranquilizers we seem to have wandered off Track again. Kinda reminiscent of another site I was on a while ago that left a bad taste in the mouth.
  6. What was the original Topic ???. Geeze I've forgotten, with all this oneupmanship going on.
  7. Your safe Brods. He said " some" on here. That's plural, could be any of us. In fact I feel rather proud of the fact I may have inherited the " title " of expert. Yeah, I think it fits quite nicely.?
  8. Didnt think we had experts on here . Just run of the mill, joe blogs punters.
  9. Thats IF the Govt work at it. These are recommendations only, lets not forget this. Sitting on ones hands comes to mind when dealing with Politicians faced with major Transitional changes such as these. Dont hold your breath.
  10. That's the one a hundy each way warrants. Huge money, and way overs considering. Good onya guys
  11. It will be I interesting to see how Sam Ottely gets Immortal Change away tonite, after Munroe walked it off the gate. Tonite we will see if they were pulling the stripes tit or not. Tab have it incredibly short in the market.
  12. 1 Malik 2 Saying Grace 3 Ohoka Johnny Hasnt won on the course , hasnt won over that distance and no 9. Everything says no. In which case it wins.?
  13. Well the Aussie Banks own us, so I suppose it follows in logical order that our once proud racing heritage now goes down the gurgler ,as we become nothing but a satellite state. Lovely. Mind you Govt doesn't have to act on any recommendations as is the Govts want. However I can see Peters already like a dog after a bone ,and at least we have movement in some direction.
  14. Dontcha just have to laugh at those that said this year's NZ Cup would be boring because of a lack of depth. Well the lack of depth has had a bang on effect, and given some exciting horses from other quarters a chance to take out NZ,s top harness prize. Bring it on. Still sticking to Ultimate Machete should he start. Perfect grinder for this type of race, along with Chicago Bull.
  15. Someone should stick those stewards in a race of their own behind a nag. Might give them a clearer picture of what a bunch of twats they are.
  16. No he feckin didn't. He restrained it to the rear from the outset, it was going slower than a one legged dog on tranquilizers and even if he couldn't get to the marker line he made no effort to keep up. Did he think he was on Lazarus.
  17. After that I give up. Very weak effort. Pro Surfer looks good, coming wide and sitting parked, pretty comprehensive win. Another golden cross of Bettors stamina and Cullen speed.
  18. He ran the quickest last sectionals by a country mile. Has a big motor. Only problem is I have no time for Monkey Bones horses. Might have to bite the bullet as we have a young Monkey Bones in our stable.
  19. How the hell does that run in Race one at Adders and the drive by Munro not get queried. As one of the favs you would have expected from barrier 4 some sort of urgency to keep handy at least. It was fair dinkum walked off the gate to last place. It might not have gate speed but that was pathetic. To then finish on for 5th would have had me yelling abuse over the handrail. I didnt back it but had it marked down. Thats my rant after R1, hope this doesnt set the tone for the evening. Not the rant, the piss poor driving.
  20. Race 4 London Delight. Two recent runs have been off very wide draws. The golden cross breeding wise and must go close from the ace.
  21. A lot of conjecture about her ability on here, compared to some that have already graced our racetracks. Personally I think the mark of a really great horse is the ability to win over multiple distances. Kingston Town for me wins hands down in that department. Does that detract from Winx, no I dont think so. The best horse of her era over certain distances by a country mile, at home , but surely the rating she has been given as the best mare in the world is not factoring in some obvious glaring ommissions. Still a pleasure to watch even from a Harness nut.
  22. No cant agree. Horses (generally speaking) back when I started going and watching were raced quite extensively for quite a long career. In fact i remember horses having 2 starts on the same day quite regularly..I still think the breed has become weak genetically. With the advent of better training methods , equine health , equipment and veterinarian knowledge one would think today's harness horse would be almost foolproof. Not so. Like the deer with no eyes, I really have no idea.
  23. Anyone considered the genetic factor. ?. Our gene pool is very small with the advent in the 60,s of Artificial Insemination . Have a look at some thoroughbred lines and you will see inherent weaknesses eg wind problems, joints, etc. The harness horse is and has been considered more robust over the years, but is there a genetic factor in all this.? Im not an expert , but coupled with this and modern training methods which may keep the athlete right on the edge its probably no wonder.
  24. I'm sure he would but Brodie is over here now. We shall deal with each problem as it arises.
  25. Nowhere did I say mile racing was good for NZ. We have an ingrained racing format here which has been around for the last 100 yrs. It would take a monumental paradigm shift to change that. However, mile racing does have its place. And I respect your opinion if not agreeing with it at the same time.
