There is a very interesting and informative article on Brian de Lore's website www.theoptimist.co.nz. I recommend all BOAYERS read it if they want the 'big picture' of what Winston is up to here. He says all the right things. But talk is cheap and we've waited many moons for the new government to do something significant. In essence, though, this is the month for specific action to be communicated to the industry - and Winston is saying get ready for important info to be announced before Budget Day, 29 May. Given the appalling recent half-yearly report from Allen and Co, and the ongoing problems with the underwhelming and over-pricy new website, there had better be a truckload of good news and $$ committed to the industry, starting in this year's Budget...and I fully expect heads will roll and certain talking heads to be 'gone by lunchtime' (July?) as RITA takes over - hopefully with 2 new appointees who have a thorough and profound knowledge of our racing industry.

Interesting wording from the Stipes Report ... J Moody advised that the inside section of the starting stalls had moved due to the failure of the handbrake on the tow vehicle ... Failure of the handbrake!! Does this mean the handbrake had been applied by the driver of the tow vehicle and it failed? Or does it disguise the possible truth, that the handbrake had not been applied in the first place?

these gems are not hard to find ... BOBBY DEE ran 4th in the NZ Derby, surely the right form for a race like this; Only problem being that Bobby Dee ran 6th...still wouldnt let an incorrect form guide stop you from finding a winner! very good effort i thought, stuck at it the last 50m when looking a bit vulnerable and came again. Certainly would like to see it race over 1400m+ Worth following..

I like Vendima a lot today, as long as track doesnt get beyond Dead5. This horse looked very very smart two summers ago when winning 3 in a row in fast times and with a powerful finish ..have there been injury issues since? Only had 13 races for 4 wins ...if it is 100% today coud easily come over the top of them after an economical trip (inside draw and tends to get back). On the drift from $19 to $21 to $23 ...

have a look at Warrnambool R8 #4 Husson Eagle FF $11 and $3.50, in from $15 Winner of 6 races and over $1M. Fresh up record is good...Paddy Payne knows how to win here! Not badly drawn and should give you a decent run for your money at value odds. MM

why be argumentative for its own sake TC? Why not say: poor form (!) TAB...you've spent $50m+ and this is what we get...where's the field/Form guide for Kentucky carnival? Last Sunday for the big meeting at Sha Tin. the amount of info available for punters was pathetic, yet John Allen and co say they're offering a state-of-the-art platform thats worth the dosh and all the delays/frustrations of the pasy year! If you want 'Tucky form, go to: horseracingnation.com . They'll bombard you with information in the last three weeks (I know, I get their emails!)

The form analysis for Mr One Eleven, racing in the Galleywood Hurdles today at the 'Bool. Its form sequence is: 83111 so the genius analyst states: Shooting for four wins in a row. BRILLIANT..WHO WOULD HAVE KNOWN?
-
Definitely one to follow through the grades... he had raced 4 times in NZ (2 x2nds, then 2 wins) before going to HK...looked a good horse in the making ...dam Valpolicella won a Champagne stakes and Manawatu Classic and is the mother of Valanova, Vavasour, Celebrity Dream and Rondinella .....

Is he weighted out of rich rich races in Melbourne, Perth or Singapore next spring/summer?

I have just read the article in the Herald, and the fact that the costs are substantially mitigated by HKJC and Ascot is surely very helpful...more importantly, last year's King's Stand winner Blue Point (Godolphin) also ran last in the Chairman's at ShaTin. But Blue Point returned home to race at Ascot, where he'd won over the straight course the previous season....a far different scenario than what faces Enzo's Lad. I'm not saying it can't or won't be done...but I wonder whether this extra trip is good for the horse. We know it's good for the connections. https://www.racenet.com.au/news/blue-point-the-king-of-speed-as-lady-aurelia-wilts-20180620

Even if it's 1000m with no turns it's still "right-handed" ie he prefers to lead with the other leg!! Methinks there's a lot of confusion and emotion in this decision - understandable, and I don't blame them for wanting to have a go at something special...but why Ascot? Timing?? Why the Northern Hemisphere? At least Singapore is left-handed; I guess they must have worked out all the pros and cons ...

brave decision, based on his failure last night

L Allpress | Cambridge 27 April; careless riding; suspended 5-18 April inclusive. i presume that is supposed to be 5-18 May, which would be good news only for Johnathan Parkes and fans

10.Ripcord (4) JRyan Elliot(58) TKevin Myers Had one trial this time in before debut first day. Go on that This is another 'ripper' piece of form analysis! RIPCORD has "had one trial" ... but no details of where it finished, when it occurred, what it beat.... and it has 'Debut first day" but no placing beside its name, so no idea where it finished on debut. Click into Recent Races ...no info available at all! And we're told to "go on that"! (Its trial?? No info. It's debut? No info...) BRILLIANT !!

This is the commentary for BRUZO in the first at Blenheim today. It is running in a Maiden race, but it won on the first day...so I assume its for Maidens at time of nomination or whatever... can someone explain why it says: "Stepped up in class after bold maiden run." Stepped up in class after bold maiden run. Have to keep safe

well, gentlemen, it's quite sad that a thread about another site's appalling (but entertaining) thread is the biggest dose of excitement tonite in the racing world. I have to admit I have trawled thru the pages and pages of posts and larfed my Mustelid head off over some of the comments - and CT's mind-boggling narcissism, vanity and name-dropping is worthy of a short self-published novel ... but really..must we descend on this site to discussion of another site's LCD )Lowest Common Denominator) garbage??

3 RACES, 3 WINNERS AND MOST PLACEGETTERS FROM INSIDE DRAWS FORGET THE FORM...JUST FOLLOW THE INSIDE DRAWS!

STIPES REPORT Michael McNab | Out until further notice. Does anyone know why?

Mustelid Musing #148 Since this thread has drifted so far off course that it is no longer about Thomass, why not close the thread and STOP THE NONSENSE?

Magic of the Sun wins the feature race today at Avondale for the McKee family. Winner by Per Incanto from Sunstrike, a daughter of Sunline.

Danger Will Robinson! not only is He Who Has Been Moderated back, but They Who Departed With Their Noses Out Of Joint are back. What does this mean? Probably not a lot...but this Mustelid wryly notes: Hesi can't resist the temptation to plug his own site, including the name of a new recruit Thomass is a lot more pleasant//tolerable when he can only communicate via emojis 5 pages of posts on the subject line 'Thomass' - who'd have thunk it? LOL, Narcissist heaven...hang on, if he ever has the duct tape removed from his keyboard, it could get messy! MM D:

Danger! Danger! Warning Will Robinson ....three of the last four posts have mentioned He Who Has Been Moderated by name, and the fourth implied him .. The Narcissist will be luvin' the attention and hoping to prove a point ..(ie that BOAY needs him).
