just wait til the bleeding heart liberals getta hold of this ..a fine and an anger management course for the strapper and/or trainer ..worst of all, the horsey horse horse that inflicted shameful violence on a poor bloke's foot gets off scot free !!
-
and another from Te Teko today .... Comment:Mixing form so hard to follow. Win came 1200m but needs reasonable footing. This was the 'helpful' form assessment for Fastellie who then wins in the Heavy10 slop just before the meeting is abandoned

..is not having to hear Aaron White say: so and so is "PICKING A PATH THROUGH PONIES"... Aaron, think of something else, mate, this pet phrase has become very very tiresome to listen to ..to the point that I will put the Tv audio on mute.

Tony Pike and Bruce Sherwin's DISGRACEFUL behaviour
Weasel replied to Thomass's topic in Galloping Chat
i reckon Mr Pike is a gone-burger anyway. whatever is done to transform NZ Racing will not be effected in the next 2-3 years..so any young successful NZ trainer (a la Pike/Marsh and others) SHOULD have their eyes on the prize ...and the recent news from Racing NSW makes it very clear that OZ not NZ is the Land of Milk and Honey for thoroughbred trainers. the cleverest ones will, however, keep accessing NZ-breds, esp those with 1600m-2400m Group 1 and 2 potential. -

Shad, well done mate ... but you're supposed to advise us of your brilliance before the race not after an 80-1 shot comes in!!
-
Well, I sent SLB 2.0 a pm as requested and didnt get a reply...and if that's an indication of customer service (commission-based or not) that's disappointing.

They seem to manage a track and weather report at all the ODI cricket games. . Why? Because it's important - ie potentially crucial to the tactics of the teams and possibly the outcome of the match...in horse racing, it is even more crucial.
-
A suggestion...why cant the relevant track info be presented by the Trackside host 30-60 mins before the first race and posted on the 'loveracing' site? It should be mandatory and standard practice at every TAB meeting
-
This is a very disappointing approach by NZTR and they need to know! I hope they read these forums. They are simply using track managers to promote a raceday instead of giving punters important specific information about the state of the track. "currently a Dead 4" says brad, without telling us the Time and Date of 'current'. For mine, if the video is not created on the morning of raceday it is a complete waste of time and money. So, NZTR please ... record each video on raceday morning and upload on as many platforms as you can as quickly as you can. show the time and date on the video itself give us the penetrometer readings give us the Rail position, including how it differs in placement from recent meetings

Dont give up on Aongatete Express or Blue Valley..neither looked likely at any stage yesterday but both will improve from the run..more ground, pref right-handed and wetter ...
-
I am not sure how long ago the video was publicised...but surely TVNZ/ TV3 / Prime / TRACKSIDE (for goodness' sake!!) would and should be all over this. I was in touch with Maija at the end of January and I'm pretty sure she was still in a wheelchair then ... for her to be actually riding a horse again is breathtakingly gutsy. Brilliant.

Right now I am one Mighty Happy Mustelid... Ihave just caught up with the update on jockey Maija Vance, who was dreadfully injured last winter in a race fall. BOAYERS donated hundreds of dollars before Xmas last year to help Maija'a rehabilitation. Her spinal cord injuries were so severe doctors told her she was unlikely to ever walk again. Maija Watch this jaw-dropping, inspirational video: and good on all you BOAYERS who helped her when it mattered most. We did good. Take a bow. https://loveracing.nz/News/27781/ComebackKid-MaijaVance.aspx Weasel D:

Te Rapa R10 #2 Blue Valley Saw the video of this Lope de Vega mare's recent winning 1200m trial. Already a winner overseas and has the Hickman/Autridge factor .. ie broodmare eventually but likely to be good enough to win a few first to offset expenses, a la Igraine for Trelawney. FF $9 and $3 is decent each way value for what is likely to be a quality mare who has shown she is 'forward' and has drawn handily (4).
-
Te Rapa R4 #9 Aongatete Express $35 and $9 FF overnight. Resuming after two trials and has won at this distance so could surprise fresh up. Will benefit from the run and is a bette rbet 2nd 3rd up, but this horse is a good wet track stayer in the making, IMO,. and is worth a bob each way at these odds ..especially as the track is a Dead 5 now but its raining in the misty murky foggy Waikatooooo. One to follow through the Northern winter

Princess Jayne Ivil talks the Mounting Yard...and stuff
Weasel replied to Thomass's topic in Galloping Chat
Extremely articulate, astute assessor of a horse's characteristics/demeanour, and knows how to get to the point without waffle.
