preponderancy (or preponderance) looks like youve typo-ed your way into a new word Chief...we know what you mean ...and you are right
-
drew 8 of 9 (that's one from the outside, Thomass), so why obvious that he'd lead or race handy? Makes sense to drop back save ground, save energy, find a gap in a small-ish filed and storm home. Brilliant ride. Well done to the connections. SSounds to me like you're talking through a big hole in your pocket put there by the (unbeatably sharp???) Sword of Osman

direct from Brad Waters' article Police have confirmed they have arrested Weir and two other men and taken in for questioning.

unlikely to happen based on the 95%+ 'BOAYRemain' and the 5% BOAYExit trend... check the Tavistock stats (the Gosepl according to Mustelid Maximus*) in the Breeding section!! Maximus is the name you gave me, if I recall correctly.

..and Winona is Sydney-based but will come to NZ for good rides. I see she rode a winner yesterday at 120-1 odds
-
She and Gai had a falling out, so Winona transferred to the Snowdens, winning the Sydney apprentice rider championship (2014-15);; apparently she is makig a comeback after some difficult months recently following injuries sustained in race falls (incl 2 broken wrists. Had 2 rides on Karaka Million night; finished 4th in the Concorde (Rikki Tikki Tavi) and 6th in the 2yo feature (Beauty Diva).

Nineteen ...na.na.na.na.na NINETEEN jockeys suspended at present ...including 5 of our most experienced hoops ...Bosson, Innes, McNab, Thornton, S Collett ... good news for Danielle though...hoping to get a clearance from the Med Feds at the end of this week. Apparently she can only ride one neddy at a time, though!

Really? A media report disagrees..do I believe them or you, Thomass? Hmmm...let me see.... Her father John Calvert rode until increased weight brought his career to an end, while her aunty is successful 1980s apprentice Cathy Costin.

Ditto. I have no angst or interest in RC simply want Chief to know that if his site is being compromised by planted content/trolling/idiots with foul language that at times verges on defamation, he need to take a strong hand (without compromising free speech principle). BOAY is a superior site in every respect..and I don't want to see it ruined by this nonsense. R E S P E C T is all that's required from all posters.

Overall the general strategy seems to be shut down the venues where people actually want to go to the races. I disagree. The general strategy seems to be to 'stop the bleeding' (which comes from propping up unprofitable/unviable clubs and tracks) and allow some Clubs to keep racing at better venues. Sadly, the low population base of the upper South Island and the nature of the terrain makes travelling and related costs very high relative to other parts of NZ.
-
Worst thing you can do is close BOAy down ...just plays into the hands of RC and its trolls who like stirring up trouble for the site....hence the need for judicious moderation of troublemakers!
-
As an aside to this subject, I note that two of the 6 races on an Iconic programme have a stake of $70k - incl the time-honoured Group 3 Concorde. Woulda made sense to bump those 2 races up to $100k wwouldnt it? Yje look rather pathetic aloonhside the 4 richer races!

Just fyi... Maija has sent me a text, as she did when the first instalment was sent to her. "Oh wow, thanks. That's fantastic!" she says. A good start to her long weekend, esp with a winner for the Vance stable at Pukekohe.
-
As promised, the entire balance of the funds raised by BOAY members has been transferred today to her personal account. Total amount paid to Maija is $636.07. THANKS TO ALL WHO CONTRIBUTED...YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE. SURELY YOUR GOODNESS WILL BE REWARDED TOMORROW IN PJS SUPER-DUPER COMP (UNLESS YOU'RE UP AGAINST A ROCK STAR IN WHICH CASE THE GOOD KARMA WILL BE DELAYED A WHILE) A payment has been made with the following details: To: 01-0286-0256449-00 From Account: 12-3099-0086230-50 (BOAY 4 MAIJA VANCE) Amount: $136.07 Details to appear on their statement: boay 4 maija xxoo go maija

some of these West Coast S. I. races look like something out of the Wild West. You are right to note the terrible standard and seek redress form the authorities. If you're serious about getting it fixed, I suggest you contact NZRB formally, or Health and Safety HQ. NZRB is unlikely to respond to post on this website (or any other), however accurate they may be.

Shhh...i understand there's a Super horse at Ellerslie paying about $9 FO for a place...Shhh...no names, no pack drill...

I recall being at Flemington for Cup Week and Derby Day was stifling hot 29-31 degrees on the Saturday...and I froze my buns off in the back of the Hill Stand on Tuesday as the weather turned very very cold very quickly...the day a horse called Subzero won the Cup! Omen bet if ever there was one.

I see this former champion apprentice jock in Sydney is in NZ for Karaka Million night and has some rides. Anyone have any views on her riding style/recent form/reputation?

Obviously the broadcasters in Oz do ...they are focused on providing a quality product to their viewers, to hold their interest (for longer), improve customer satisfaction etc... in stark contrast to Trackside who adopt your care-less and apparently churlish attitude

Ask yourself a question: why does the production team televising Sat races in Victoria, Sydney, Queensland Adelaide and WA show the official photo within seconds of the horses flashing past the post?
