  1. I note that the official TAB Result shows: Enquiry: Track Record on account of the 1:07:46 Dollar to a pound of bullshit the enquiry reveals the timing mechanism is wrong or the starting gates were in the wrong place. I doubt that GOP can run that fast on a DEAD 4. If the time is verified, she will put the frighteners into both the Railway and Telegraph contenders!
  2. Unusual to see half-brother and sister debuting in consecutive races... Shanlane 3yo f by O'Reilly Shanpark 4yo g by Ocean Park Mother Shantaine from same family as Tavago/Grosvenor Good luck to all the connectios
  3. large heart? We[ll see!
  4. Won her maiden today over 1600m at start 4 .No prior form. Started at $25 tote; $42 FO. Full sister to ATC Derby winner Tavago...the family of Empire Rose. I didn't see the race and she won only narrowly BUT ..keep an eye on her in case nominated for Stakes races incl Oaks Pedigree is A1 ..and she is underway!
  5. Hiflyer is out of the Railway. The Mustelid has his ferrety nose to the ground. heading to the Telegraph instead...which suggests a minor injury forcing a delay.
  6. getting very very tired of this endless 'rivalry' and discussions about RC. Take a cue from Frozen, Hesi, and: Let it go, let it go ... BOAY does not need to be compared with or rated against other sites.
  7. Personally, I wouldnt be appointing to a Ministerial Advisory Board a person who left multi-million dollars debts six years ago.
  8. Can anyone explain why it has taken months for this BIG MAC to be announced? Why didn't Winnie announce the formation of said MAC soon after the announcement of the Messara Report? Their mandate could easily have included the coordination of 'feedback' from the consultation with stakeholders in the industry...and they'd have been months further head in their planning by now.. Amazing that they are required to present an interim report by the end of Feb 2019 - how much they gonna get done between now and mid-Jan? Stuff all, I'd say ... so they'll have about 6 weeks to "identify the technical, legal, financial and process-oriented decision points for racing reform and return the industry to a well-managed and sustainable economic growth path." Big job, that...Merry Christmas to the Famous Five
  9. i adopt a very effective IMS (Information Management System) for Trackside TV. It's called the MUTE button...I use it as soon as I hear these voices: Bevan Sweeney, Tony Lee, Cameron Shaw, Mark Cookson, Aidan Rodley. I will listen to: Brendon Popplewell, Steve Davis, Darryl Anderson, George Simon, Emily Bosson and others occasionally. Trackside Radio is appalling whenever Peter Earley, Mark Claydon, Cameron Shaw or Richard Bromley are hosting. The weirdest thing about this 'irritant' scenario is that I have great respect for the style and clarity and content that comes from just across the ditch. They are all professional, focused, intelligent communicators who know their stuff!
  10. Read it and weep, Mardi. if it were raceday i'd expect maybe $1.50 -$1.80 in a capacity field of 14-16 but three weeks away? ridiculous https://www.tab.co.nz/racing/#1979
  11. Just had a quick peek at Fixed Odds for the Sistema Railway. Three weeks before raceday and the favourite Melody Belle is paying only $1.20 to finish in the first three (not sure the maximum field size, must be 16 surely??).
  12. Geez Hesi...showing your age now, bro...how about this contemporary RITA? (Ps Dont forget the Maija account closes 14 Dec)
  13. I reckon Gazzac would disagree with you!
  14. Now I'm no pedigree expoit, but I like to trawl through some bloodlines from time to time. Here's the latest gem, which may or may not be of any interest to anyone! Spirits Aubeer ...winner of Bonecrusher Stakes....mebbe not bred for a Derby distance but ... He is a direct descendant of Secretariat .I mean, on his mother's side, not just a dash of Secretariat through a sireline. Spirit Aubeer's grand-mother's grand-mother's great-granma (!) is Somethingroyal, mother of Secretariat
  15. thats a lot of punting and time to win $1k...$5 to win on Winx in the Cox Plate woulda got you the same result a whole lot quicker.
  16. i suggest we are among the most heavily taxed nations in the world..and we are too apathetic to fight the red-led dingbats who want to tax us even more It's not just Income Tax.. its pervasive from ACC to EQC levies to GST to regional fuel taxes.... and as if all that ain't enough District and Regional Councils smack us all again with rates based on Land Value and Capital plus plus so-called targeted rates for everything from Pest Management to Stadiums and Rescue Helicopters.
  17. thanks for the reminder, Hesi... it would be fab to get a surge of generous donations in the next 10 days, but I'm aware that many BOAYERS will have already donated to this cause, so I don't have lofty ambitions for the total $$$. The point is, ALL donations are gratefully received and this young woman has a long road ahead, which will be costly and painful. Let's help her along the way.
  18. not sure why you BOAYERS indulge Tommy TomTom's rubbish methods. Ignore him. Don't post in response to his nonsense.
  19. I'd say Cromwell is likely to get more meetings, not closure
  20. Senior Business Reporter for NZ Herald ... understanding of NZ horse racing/breeding industry ? Your guess is as good as mine, but I get a little squirmy with phrases like "forbids the interviewer from..". this piece smacks of subtle self-promotion and in particular Winnie-promotion...speaking of which, where's the action, Winston (apart from putting anew track on David Ellis's doorstep)??
  21. just fyi... Joy of Joys ran in the Monstavision-Fast Track$5k Open Hcp 1200m at Ellerslie on Sunday 14 Jan 2018, on a Good3 finishing 10th of 10 behind Julius / Ja Ja Binks / Irish Moon 8.7L from winner. Has won twice at Ellerslie both on a Good3 but has also won on rain-affected ground. Lord knows where their form analyst got the bit about the Railway from!
  22. ELLS (R) 14 Jan 2018 19 days 7th up 10th of 10 OPN HCP $45K 1200m G3 Trld to tn,wknd 200m Mark Du Plessis [R80] 54 (1) Starting price - $3.80 1st: Julius 1:10.40 8.7L Comment: Resuming. Last raced in the Railway. Winner of only start this trip. Respect. this is the form analysis posted by the TAB for Ellerslie Race 3 horse 7 JOY ANNA. Apparently last ran in the Railway ..and ran 10th of 10 after starting at $3.80... on 14 Jan 2018 behind Julius .... hmmmm ..small field for a Railway ..Day.did they change the date from New Years Day ? did they change the winner ?? or did the tab get it wrong (again)?
  23. cheers cichlid ..not familiar with CG's background before Ellerslie position ...but surely inappropriate behaviour would have been reported in this day and age?
  24. Umm..why is this in-house nonsense on this site? As I recall, this site was established to be a mature, sane and sensible alternative to its predecessor ... Time to lift the bar?
  25. Is there any possible reason that this Warriors/RL/Yawn Yawn discussion is on the Galloping Chat thread?
