Reefton, I'm sorry you are still missing the point. It's not about changing the result. Showing the official photo from which the judges determines the winner gives all the stakeholders closure on the event ...whether its $1 each way on the loser in the photo or if you're a part-owner of the winner (or loser). It's not only OFFICIAL, ITS EXCITING. We can see for ourselves how close it is at the exact point of the finish. All part of the thrill of racing.
-
Not the point..the point is that the photo finish to this Group 1 should have been shown on Trackside as a matter of priority as soon as practicable after the race..exceptionally close, as we all knew at the time but the photo should have been up there immediately. They do it in Australia at all metrop meetings within seconds...shouldn't be too hard, should it?
-
If the speed that photo finish shots are made available is the biggest problem in NZ racing then we have f all to worry about. I am not quite sure why seeing it is so important. ITS A SERVICE TO PUNTERS AND STAKEHOLDERS IN THE INDUSTRY ..IF I WERE CONNECTED WITH FERRANDO I KNOW ID WANT TO SEE PROOF MY HORSE HAD BEEN BEATEN A HAIRLIP...

I find it highly ironic that Thomass believes this to be true, but does not apply it to his own behaviour when posting on this site. Insults, personal abuse, offensive language and images posted ...causing needless negativity and irritation to many members. Practice what you preach (above), Thomass, and we'll all be grateful for your contribution to BOAY,.
-
So, Chief, here's perfect example of the case in point'. Is it Ok for Thomass (or anyone) to post offensive images such as the sexual one posted yesterday (17 hours ago)?
-
Chief, no-one has any problem with Thomass posting on issues affecting the industry ...as you mentioned ...but unless he is 'reined in' on the offensive language and subject matter, you are going to lose the goodwill of many genuine BOAYERS who've had a gutsful of it ...including Hesi. It's your call.
-
totaly agree ..and a perfect example of how this site should be MODERATED so that offensive comments are not published. The comment is probably libellous.
-
I had the interview with him on mute but the pictures still irritated me! He cant stand still; mighta made a half-decent born-again pastor.
-
In brief, moderate the site so that abusive comments and personal attacks are not posted. Kee[ the standards high and therefore the site's credibility.
-
I assume you have something to do with this horse, Shad...if so, well done you! Had a couple of $$ on him and didn't expect the win to be quite so commanding. 29th win by a Tavistock horse this season, only the 7th by a male; only 4 (of 29 wins) have been beyond 1600m !! (2 of those 4 have been by Shantav at Gore)

See below (ex Race Base) Enzo's Lad's time yesterday 1:06:95 is 7th fastest since 1996. No surprise that Trentham and Riccarton dominate...Ellerslie appears 3 times in the Top 100 !! As noted by Fred, Trentham and Riccarton 1200m layout are dog-legs, therefore conducive to faster times. Hesi, I totally 'get where you are coming from. I have suggested on several occasions that action be taken to prevent Thomass from ruining sane and sensible conversations in threads. Abusive language, for example, is completely unnecessary and if a stronger hand were taken by CS I dont think anyone would see it as compromising the 'free speech' principle. I hope you guys can sort this out - because BOAY is much better than RC and your rivals will be enjoying apparent division in your ranks. I'm sure you and CS can find a sensible solution.

strong 2nd today LEFT HANDED at Rotorua on a Dead 6 over 1950m ...doesnt have an explosive sprint BUT might just be competitive over 2400m against her own age and sex

Calling Witless Winston and the idiot Journalists
Weasel replied to Reefton's topic in Galloping Chat
I haven't thought this through in a substantive way, CS...but top of the head thinking includes: how and how often is the racecourse used? how many people are directly and indirectly employed by/from its presence its importance/usefulness to the wider community cost of upkeep (R&M) relative to its revenue-earning capability the number of alternative facilities within a small radius of the venue As a comparison, let's look at Auckland ...is there a compelling case to keep Avondale when there is already Ellerslie and Pukekohe for training/trialling/racing; the Avondale infrastructure/services are appalling (though the track is fine); and the Avondale land is worth truckloads. Selling Avondale and applying the capital for industry-wide benefit makes sense, unless you are a member/supporter of AJC (or you are skeptical about whqat would happen to the $$. How often is Reefton used? Is it financially self-sustaining? What are the consequences (for employment/community etc) if it is closed? -
Calling Witless Winston and the idiot Journalists
Weasel replied to Reefton's topic in Galloping Chat
A decision about a racecourse's long-term viability cant be decided by a simple comparison of on-course turnover on one midweek holiday raceday. I'd have thought that was bleedin' obvious. 'Reefton' has a vested interest in highlighting the turnover figures for last week's raceday, of course, because they help his cause (keeping the facility). -
good point! I expect the answer is that the green tick and message is an automatically generated response sent to everyone who clicks on that option. Where they've sent to (and if its been successful) is clearly the issue for many frustrated account holders this week!

and maybe she'll get beat in the Telegraph like she did in the Railway.

Chief, a mate of mine is still waiting for the email for password reset. I'm wondering if you have changed email addresses since you opened your TAB account ..i know he has done so at least twice, so they may have replied to you but you dont know it! To get the trainers, sires, jockeys info you want, go to Extended Form and the field for a race is presented similarly to the old site (thank God). One 'blip' though in Extended Form that I've found so far ...weights are not listed! So if you want to do serious form analysis using Extended Form info, you cant see at a glance the weight a horse is carrying!

I spoke to Maija Vance today and transferred $500.00 from the BOAY Fund to her personal bank account this afternoon. There is a current balance of $136.07 which I hope we can add to in the next 2 weeks. The account will be permanently closed on 25 Jan, when the remaining balance will be deposited into Maija's account. Feeling generous? Feel free to contribute. Account number and fund ID is: 12-3099-0086230-50 BOAY 4 MAIJA VANCE Cheers Weasel

Trainer Index for Wanganui JC, 10 Jan 2019 Them's their words, CS, not mine, cut and pasted from the PDF you despise! So you are clearly at variance with the TAB's idea of what constitutes an Index. Why not ask them to supply it other format(s)? as well.
-
Re; Indexes ..trainers/jockeys/sires. The only way i have found thus far is: Go to PDF Format...scroll down to the date/race meeting you want (eg Thurs 10 Jan Wanganui ...) and there is a Jockeys/Trainers/Sires option (link) on the far right ... nowhere near as convenient as the old system but at least you'll get the info you want (for NZ Gallops, anyway!) D:

Gerday! Saw this 'lockout link info (below) and thought it may still be useful for you D: If you have been locked out of your account you can quickly unlock it again by resetting your password. Follow our easy instructions here: https://uppingyourgame.co.nz/site-lockout/ , and make sure you have the email you registered on your TAB account handy before you begin.

This $126.00 deposit was received into the BOAY 4 MAIJA VANCE FUND on 8/1/2019 ...new total is $636.07 including an awesome contribution of .07c net interest. Account Number: 12-3099-0086230-50 just in case others wish to add to the fund before Karaka Million Weekend (ACCOUNT CLOSES PERMANENTLY 4pm FRI 25 JAN 2019)

Shapren up. foxy boy ...Hello It's Me was disappointing in the Rich Hill..seemed not to want to 'let down' in the straight so there will be some diagnostics done on her and a week or three in the paddock....possibly back in the autumn if all is well, she likes some give in the ground but he last two runs have been puzzling for connections who, like you, have been forced by despair into a booze-addled state!
