  1. Good picking, thought it was a win chance 600m out, had it easy in front but battled on ok.
  2. Only thing weasel, when he won last at ricc, it was a real bog. Not sure track will be as bad. But I do agree, good chance
  3. Totally agree. Seems a bloody good guy too.
  4. Good luck for next season Reefton,
  5. Maybe that’s why Paula Bennett had her puku stapled, and a heap of Botox epoxy, she needs a pay rise??
  6. What did you all think about speed duel race 5 tonight? Also, if you backed Sex On Fire, did you feel a little peeved you didn’t win? Seemed a lazy drive until late.
  7. Another surprise, Dunns appeal to be heard next week, they lodged an appeal against the level of the fine?? I would hardly think a fine of $7k each is to severe? If they lose appeal, will costs be added?
  8. Actually purchased whole set of racing annuals about 2 years ago. Still in garage, will have to get them out and have a read, Have read most of the harness annuals.
  9. Yep, I agree with Globe. Let’s all just concentrate on those bewdie harness horses, not many sleeps till the jewels!! Could be a big day for you Globe, wherever you finish.
  10. Barry, I must be an average punter. I quite liked Gentil Tonton yesterday at Roto . Horse won same venue in July last year, heavy 11, with similar buildup. It did carry 3.5kg less than yesterday, but handled the track well last year. So yesterday, so called same track conditions, couldn’t keep up after 400m? Punters need more info, you need more track ratings, should have been heavy 15!, obviously yesterday’s track a heap worse than previous year, winning time reflects that. Thats why it is far easier doing form in Aussie, where metro form holds up well, you wouldn’t have 75% of the field no chance half way thru race. Good that you see benefits Barry, but I think more would agree with me than you. These tracks need work, decent drainage, it’s a sham.
  11. Girls race at Timaru was competitive, best horse won.
  12. Silent Shadow went ok, will pick up one soon at good odds. No chance the way he was driven today
  13. Colleen Negus has had her share of bagging, but she has a pretty handy record. 38 starts, 9 x wins, 5 x 2nds, 2 x 3rds. Compare that to Sheldon Martha, 88 starts, 7 x wins, 13 x 2nds, 13 x 3rds. Sheldon has had some pretty good horses to drive, think all his wins have been courtesy of the Dolan stable. Maybe he needs to drive a bit more confident. When he first started driving in these races, I thought he would clean up. Certainly not been the case.
  14. Quite like R2 rites if Zhou, r6 Leo’s gift, r9 crimson prince, longs got of day, r3 silent shadow
  15. To be honest, it was hard watching both nz venues today. Seems we get bog tracks about 8 months per year?
  16. Good to see this horse back in the winners stall. Surely, the jockey must get fined, I thought he was gonna jump off!
  17. Thought the same.
  18. Chief, many old race goers would struggle with the tech side of the world. It was a struggle just to get the folks to use mob phone, never mind smart phone. Go back 10 years, I was in 4 weekly betting syndicates, 2 family, 2 work. I used to pay $10 to each per week, as did others. 10 in family synd, 20 in work synd, everyone, which we split up just before Xmas. We used to bet over $30k a year, not bad really. The older members, that ran them, pulled out. They couldn’t get the form in their trusty newspaper, then trackside got pulled free to air. I know what everyone is saying, I love looking on line, or printing fields, but I know for myself, you tend to do far more betting by yourself nowadays, rather than associating with others as much as previously.
  19. Agree, canceled paper couple of years ago, do same as you. But many older folk don’t have wifi, so these are about the only ones buying the paper.
  20. Yeah, I’m not complaining really, just asking the question. Works both ways, I’m sure we have all collected too with this sort of driving.
  21. Thought Hail Christian was a good bet tonight, but luckily I changed my mind. Reason- Dex & John Dunn had front line draws, sure enough Betters Heart steams to front, only to hand up to Billy Badger. Now I’m not saying anything dodgy is going on, but does other drivers in a race alter your way of punting? The 2 Green runners in race 7 Alex tonight was similar, stablemate burns to front, only to hand up to fav, which controls the race and sprints home to win. Should the stipes ask a few more questions, or is everybody happy with the sprint home tactics.
