    Paid $155 here in NZ. Staggering really, it’s not like it had a cushy run and popped through to win. Came from last out wide and beat the best Aus/NZ horses. Makes you think at times…

    So what, one horse wins plenty. Have a look at the hundreds of others high priced buys Ellis has been involved in.. .. if you had taken a small slice of all of them…would have lost heaps.

    You only hear the good stories about this stable…. Talking to a few people at Riccarton races last week, 3 of them said they would never have a horse with the stable again. One syndicate had a horse racing in the Nth Island, gelding showed a bit of promise earlier but was disappointing. Syndicate asked if they could race it from a good stable in the Canterbury…. answer a BIG No… obviously scared of another trainer improving the horse

    I’ve stopped looking today, they could never get 3 horses in right order in running now…. So no chance 4 horses in order… as well as back to front depending on left/ right track. pretty bad really

    Watched an interview recently on an Australia racing show, they were interviewing Jayne Ivil. She said she wasn’t a very good apprentice rider, stated Aus probably wouldn’t have given her licence, yet NZ did. I assume that is what is happening in NZ, desperate for riders so anyone gets a licence. Love her honesty, she seems to know abit about racing too
