  1. Neil Brady passed away recently in Australia. What a colourful character he was. Franco Ice one of my Fav nags. RIP
  2. Not a good look…. No doubt more will come out in the wash
  3. He was pretty average today. If I owned Certainly I would be peeved with his ride, last and boomed home less than length winner…. Wow
  4. Now that I have asked about gallops and harness trainers, let’s see what we come up with here. A J Perucich- Of course known for driver / trainer of Stormymorn, but I am sure he was also a jockey but I know nothing about this? Anyone shed some light, can’t be too many that have been a jockey and won a race, then trained and driven several group trotting races? Somebody mentioned A Cowan, I know he was a jumps jockey and trained and drove harness horses, but don’t think he won group race. Any others spring to mind? Ta
  5. Oooops, sorry you’re right, Tony Shaw. What happened there, also where is Tony nowadays?
  6. What’s the goss on this one? Also what happened at Westport, I’m missing out
  7. Good one Gamma👍 Whats happened to last race, still not confirmed?
  8. I suppose Yulestar is the one that stands out for me. Nolan was a gallops trainer at the time when Yulestar arrived, from memory was a bit wayward early but once it started to race well it progressed into a great stayer. Add in Todd Mitchell who up until then had not been associated with anything of note, then you have small town trainer with unknown driver winning the big ones. I flew over to Brisbane for the Inters that he won, bookies offered huge odds for him, sadly only had a saver on him as thought he was up against it from draw. Gaps came and he powered home to win. Did Mitchell and Nolen fall out after this, sort of remember something happened. Then horse went to US, won a few early but then battled in low class races, not sure if he was sold or not, but really those that had him at the end got a bit greedy.
  9. Mike Stormont trained gallopers?
  10. Maybe connections saw the pic with the white stuff and think it should be fun having her over?
  11. John Vincent has also dabbled with gallopers a few years back. Seems a huge increase in Canterbury Harness trainers giving the other code a go, not so many other way around?
  12. Good one 👍
  13. You could say, that once Tony Lee departs, George retires, Matt Cross takes up offer elsewhere….we will have the worst bunch of race callers NZ has ever had.
  14. Ok, I don’t usually go for these comps but pick an option out for me, ta 👍
  15. Try and post 15, that would be good
  16. Never met the guy…. But seems a nice genuine bloke
  17. Shad, Brodie can you think of a Harness trainer that has trained a good galloper that has won at least 5 races?
  18. Think he had a winner before Xmas at Riccarton
  19. It seems we have always had Harness Trainers dabbling in Training gallopers, recently with Mark Jones and Michael House going well in this code. I would have thought Mark Purdon would have trained a winner yet, but not close yet. My question is, we do not see many Gallops Trainers having a go with the harness horses, but when they do they don’t just win a race, they are top class horses. Below are a few I can remember, others will know more! Harnetts Creek- J Parsons Dillon Dale-Don Dwyer Yulestar- L Nolen What other good horses can anyone remember, either code dabbling on the other side, maybe there are some good gallopers that harness trainers have trained 👍
  20. Wouldn’t worry too much, whatever happens close to the beach there appears to be no consequences
  21. He should be calling instead of Aaron. I heard him today at Cambridge, he gets excited every race, something is charging home with a chance of winning, but if ya sitting at home watching you know otherwise. Nonsense, caller. The guy at Mot today not flash, I know he is filling in but we could find better
  22. Looks like TAB For Ever is… Mick Guerin? You type of prats should not be doing TAB surveys…. They need to be completed by your average punter
  23. You’re a funny man, well I assume a man. Paint chipped off seats and bird poo…. poor state of toilets??? Listen to yourself, recently at Motukarara they had many new portaloos avail, even emptied half way thru day. Yes, facility’s are outdated but that never bothered the 1000s that turned up. I can assume that you are a white collar type…. No doubt attending tennis events in posh areas with your similar young mates. Funny you mentioned getting a $10 free bet for answering questions on day???I thought you work for the TAB??? I smell a RAT
  24. Rockburn should have won race 2 Hastings today, Kennedy made run too late. Punters are backing all his rides now, good opportunity to get better odds on other horses. Time will tell, he had a stellar day recently where everything fell in place same as other jockeys, but I see him as a good jockey but nothing special
