  1. I assume he has a liquor licence for his venue? How the hell is that possible, he has a list of convictions longer than his leg…
  2. Avenger had lovely trail…. Gutless. Really is strange how a team can go so well one week…. Same team go so poorly next time. Luckily I have left well alone this stable today
  3. Well, According to The Star Newspaper, this will be in front of the judge soon. No doubt will try for name suppression ….who would have imagined 20 yrs ago how the Harness industry could become so bad…. It’s a disgrace
  4. Well, do think we should … Bet On Red today,
  5. Don’t Stop Dreaming very unlucky, put in a few rough ones 200m out certainly cost it the win.
  6. Think quad was paying $1600 with Victor…. Ouch
  7. Fantastic gentle guy. We had a pacer in the early 90s with Tim Butt which was hopeless, but met Murray several times at the stable and he was great to talk to. I had my favs in the harness game around this time, always great to go to Zollis and have a pint with the Butt boys and others….but here are my 4 fav guys that I used to love catching up with at Addington or Twiggers… Derek Jones Brian Glidden Murray Butt Geoff Dunn
  8. Yeah, comedy isn’t it.
  9. Another jockey off race 9???
  10. Well, looking at that Race 8 I doubt that will be the end of racing there today. Pretty shit track, average riders etc. Watched plenty Aus racing lately, hardly ever see a jockey fall. Yet in NZ, hardly a day goes by without someone falling off somewhere….
  11. Good field indeed. Can’t really remember but seemed the horses that were interfered with down the back was about the time Camelot started its run.
  12. Yeah, that is a good race the last. Thought Watermelon Sugar at $6 f/odds was a good bet, first decent draw for ages but downside is it’s a tough field. Only $30 on it to win, 👍
  13. The Chase…. Every chance for 3rd… no more tips for me
  14. 😆😆😆Fernz Goldy, oh dear how bad was that
  15. Well, I havnt tipped a nag for ages, but I think I have a couple tonight. R1-Fernz Goldy R2- The Chase
  16. For those that piled the dough on Victor Bravo in the last….i feel for you. Tailed off, driver showed less vigour than I do brushing my teeth…. stormed home far too late… I liked it but not at its tote price….
  17. Gee, Stable been on a roll lately, but apart from the first runner they have performed terrible. Not many times do you have a $1-40 runner settle in trail, gets a run then doesn’t pay a Div. Let’s see how they go 2nd day, but for now… DONT BET ON RED….
  18. Mmmmm, you do know it is summer and there is already an issue. How about March or April, always moisture when a cricket match comes to Auckland..
  19. CWJ would have stayed on even after a night on the juice…
  20. Mmmm, first post didn’t look like it was posted, but looks like I posted twice. Maybe delete this one chief, ta
  21. Yep, there was a buzz a lap from home as the driver was nearly getting his arms pulled off. You may remember, did this horse show a positive drug test later on back in Aus…. I thought it did but may be wrong
  22. From memory this was my first NZ Cup that I attended, only this one was special. Had a mate that knew a first starter called… Blue Water! Was told to keep it quiet as they expected it to pay $20 plus on the day. Now, was told it was smoking up the tracks and connections were pretty sure the filly could beat the boys in the first race at Addington on Cup Day. Well, that was good enough for me, took majority of my money hidden in my sock in drawer and popped into TAB on way. Put $150 win and $250 place on it at a time I was earning just over $100 per week. Met the lads on course thinking that in a few minutes my life would be changed and would have to buy more socks on the way home….Well, don’t think I can find video of race but if anyone has one I would love to see it, but here is my memory of it…. Settled fairly handy then Keith Whall punched it out to the lead…. With about 400m to go I was getting excited….had 3 lengths on field…sadly driver went too early and was run down for 4th😬 Looking at result many years later I forgot what a great field it was…and it seemed nobody kept a secret because it went out 2nd fav…. Seems those that owned her was into banking so must have got on. Walked home after Cup feeling very deflated. Horse was very over rated, won the DB Fillies in a sedate 2.03 only due to a great Jack Smolenski drive. Took months to fill up the sock…
