Anyone notice this? Entain's chequered past.
Newmarket replied to Special Agent's topic in Galloping Chat
Not many times I agree with you, but this time I do. If they are offering such good betting opportunities, why do they need to geo block? Trust me, I’m not stopping betting overseas. Entain specialise on gaming, they won’t give a shit about nz racing, harness & dogs. They will just want people gambling on slots. Keiren, your a disgrace, I suggest you have killed off the average nz punter -
You’re missing the point. When it won it drew outside and went hard first 800m. Last race it had cushy run and offered little, forget who it raced against. Let’s see what it does next few starts, I’m picking it will not win a race in its next 6 starts, will race poorly. Then we can all look back and wonder how it won that race

Raced normal again last night, had a good run offered nothing
-
Opie only looks good because of the average opposition and the best horses he rides. Look at Dragons Leap today, it went huge yet he had it wide the trip. Aussie rider on it wins. O’Sullivan a bit unlucky today, Reece Jones rode the same earlier on. Have to get the top aussie jockeys on these nz runners nowadays, otherwise ya wasting time and money

Many of our good drivers are now getting on a bit, Carter will go on to better things driving. Can see him winning a drivers premiership in the next 5 years
-
Nice reply Special Agent. What happened to the days when winners, or horses that had form reversals were swabbed and was published? I smell a rat..

Any views on blood testing last night?
-
You have your views, I know at times it has raced in better fields and most horses look unlucky when having a cushy run buried on rails, but this nag has struggled to win on the palmy circuit. I like the stipes when they asked the question about horses improvement…Wilson House stated the mare had been unlucky in recent starts from unfavourable draws??!😆😆😆. FFS, it draws the outside gate goes hard first 400m and fights till the end? Mighty Looee the same, I know they went hard but FFS, what’s going on. Not my money talking as didn’t have a bet last nite. Stipes stated Pre Race Blood testing? Is that all horses, some horses, which horses? Anyone know
-
Well, what about Superstar Legend winning that first race tonight. Be interesting to hear Mickey Mouse’s views on how it improved to win? Hopefully stipes will ask the question, and horse should be swabbed twice for everything!

Hardly a surprise that jumping races are on the decline, has been for years. Last several years the standard of jumping horses have been very poor in the Sth island, bit of a joke really. With the pathetic do gooders wanting jumping races outlawed, will decline further in NZ. Jumps racing in NZ will not exist soon, that is the biggest cert ever.

Doug Mangos was more of a gentleman. Mind you, Nikki does my head in too.
-
Wow, Now that was a huge run, 3 wide forcing the pace, 2 inside runners gone on turn. Horse only got overhauled late in the race. Didn’t have bet in the race, but Lilly butchered that nag in a 5 horse race. Wonder what trainers and connections think after these types of crap rides, it’s not like it’s a big field, could easily ease back and get good run. Smart riders finished 1st & 2nd, good on them both.
-
Yeah, he looked good when he timed his run, but he certainly lost just as many charging home too late.

Steve Little-Horse trainer in the 80s, any idea what he is up to? Brent Smith- Owner/ Trainer of Armalight, he sort of fell off the radar once this top mate retired? Matt Heenan-Brother of Michael Heenen who trains. Matt was a punter who drunk at the Swamp, any idea where he is now?
-
Yeah, as for turnovers. In the 80s, you never had overseas gambling sites, casinos or sports betting. So never gonna be like the golden years
-
Just to add Unhinged, I like your interviews and I know your passionate about the harness game. But my views don’t change on that track yesterday. Let’s see what Geraldine offers Friday,
-
Yeah ok, wet weather I understand. But that track not been cut for awhile, must know it grows pretty quick in winter. How did oncourse /Tab figures compare between Mot last Monday and yesterdays meeting? Just for the record, Methven was I big fav of mine early on. But trying to work out form will make you broke. I had 6 horses yesterday that I thought were good bets, none in the money, luckily I stopped betting. if they are out Friday I will post on here, then we will see if my form is right!!
-
Luckily Unhinged was not in charge of lawn control at Qe11 back then, would still be out their now with a torch trying to search for pups trying to poke their heads above grass🤭
-
Haha, I’m only a punter but somebody who has seen plenty of grass racing over the years. I was with a few other punters who also stopped or reduced their wagering during the day, I know you are part of the methven club gang, but would have thought you would want feedback. Take ya crocs off, try running on ya mowed front lawn, then try running on that jungle type track yesterday!!! Christ, if you couldn’t see the grass was to long yesterday, you need specsavers.
-
That track today was a total joke. Only a handful made ground from the turn, main reason being the grass being about a foot high?? WTF is happening with the clowns at Methven, used to be a great track but now it is laughed at. Maybe talk to those that turn out the Motukarara track in tip top condition each meeting, track is mowed at a good level, not like todays shit. I stopped betting after race 3, luckily I did as the horses I liked struggled.

The RACE by Grins. Big race on Friday worth $1,000,000.

The guy doing the yapping with the whale was a bit over the top for mine -
What do you expect from a Michael House runner
-
Well, Here I am waiting between races, 41 minutes pretty poor but I assume it’s not the clubs fault but the fact we have 2 gallops meetings on.Anyway. I have heaps of time to post. 1, Is it time to put the guy singing to bed? Went to watch a race from grandstand but that guy was screaming, sounds the same every meeting, every song. Think he sings at rangiora too. Past the use by date for me. 2, Kids Kartz? Had first race and number 1 called BOOTS. Well it was hardly walking under hard driving, then it comes out again and does same. Not a good look,

Talking about the Derby crash, looking back you would have thought race should be called off.
