I had a couple of mates that ran around it sober, they stated it’s a bog and lost footing several times.
On what has happened recently, will be abandoned after first few races. Not before meeting started, just once a few slip. Welcome to NZ racing
Maybe he could have raced handier on that track, although I’m not really knocking the guy. Just stating that in three races he was well supported, yet came in a very long last. TAB would be laffing.
I see they are running it today on some apprentice jockey, that’s desperate
I went to Motukarara yesterday with a group of about 20 people, most follow and are are involved in gallops.
They all commented how well the day was organised, unlimited byo grog yet crowd well behaved, in fact they are returning on the 8th instead of looking around for a gallops meeting. They are pretty pissed off with the Riccarton Cup Day debacle, and 3 that are members are not renewing membership this year.
Just goes to show, they had a record crowd yesterday, all there to watch probably the most average bunch of horses I have seen race at a Xmas meeting.
Feel sorry for any owner that has a hot jock on them over the holiday period. Luckily, I never bet in these as the odds are usually so poor, it’s hardly worth it, and to be honest, they hardly ever win. Craig today got a fav home, and should have won a later race with a better ride.
But most races he settled well back in running, never improved. Strange old day for him
Why not load your bank account details with TAB? Withdrawals are easy, always their next day, in fact I have withdrawn in the afternoon and money has shown cleared in account couple of hours later.
What happened a few days ago was terrible, thoughts are with family and friends.
But we have to ask, why are we having so many female jockeys dying on the track. Not just in NZ, but in Aussie as well. Better rider training? better safety gear? Or what else.
Somebody needs to look into this quick, been going on far too long
Joe must have thought the horse behind him was still trying to win, so I may as well keep going too? Sadly, that was the riderless horse behind him🤭.
Nonsense, makes nz racing look poor
Bad enough that the girl fell off her horse just after the start, hope all is well there.
But FFS, what the hell is wrong with Joe, still in front trying to win, yet other jockeys pulled up??? Did he not see or hear the men on the white horses saying to pull up? God, NZ racing is getting worse each week, it’s a joke
Very sad this girl lost her life, tragic for all her family and connections.
Would be surprised if track conditions had any part to play in it, looking at the race it looked like rider interference caused the fall.
Seems I have mentioned the average riding skills of many Sth Island jockeys for months now, sadly this is the outcome. Some trainers and those that issue riders licences, surely must take a long hard look of themselves.
Well…. Once again the money is up and the team go unbelievable.
No Matter Wat, wow. No doubt Gammalite will just say these horses are primed for the day, rest will just think the blood has improved 😆
Watched all the races today, looks like the club had a good day.
Was it just me, or did so many horses look likely 200m out the totally fade? Usually many run from the back, but not today, if you were not in the first 4 turning for home you had no chance
So if it was that dangerous, why did they run any races today? Any complaints first race, any complaints 2nd race??? If jockeys were concerned they would never have started the meeting.
H&S, ha ha your a funny woman. Didn’t seem to have issues with so many horses falling, but if one slips your all over it.
Once we get more feedback from jockeys that didn’t have issue with track, maybe you will change your mind
This is disgusting….. whoever was talking on trackside said if it wasn’t such a big day of racing, meeting would be called off? What a stupid thing to say, it’s either safe to ride if the race is worth $10k or a million, shit for brains comment.
I can see this called off, all because of a handful of jockeys that probably have shit rides. My contacts tell me that 90% of jockeys are happy to race
Jockeys are getting soft. So what, one horse has slipped, that happens in many races.
FFS, it’s a brilliant warm day, just heard Kylie Williams on tv saying grass is wet, yet ground hard???
Well, hello. Give it a wee while and it will burn off, christ the jockeys are making the rules
