On one hand it is good…. and i see how they gave $1m to charity and partners…. But i can see everywhere in the world big issues with problem gamblers. I am 60yrs old, as a 18yr you spent what you had, hardly heard of credit cards or personal loans…TABs were hidden down alleyways with little advertising, no casinos, no lotto or pokies. Compare it with today, easy to get credit, online Entain and casino gambling or oncourse, lotto jackpots and pokies…. and huge offers and promotions targeting mainly young punters both on social media and TV, and lets not forget Betcha was introduced for youngsters to get hooked. Going to be some very sad stories coming out over the next few years….

Look on all the Australian racing sites, they are applauding the horse more than the jockey winning cup, and i have to agree. Shit, can you imagine if she ever rode Damask Rose…. Gee you get upset…. After seeing the overhead replays a few times, you would have to say the horse was lucky to have an uninterrupted run on the inside, forget the horse or jockey. Maybe post a clip of other Melbourne cup winners that you think are similar….you will struggle

You may be right, although if you are a restricted punter i am sure you can find a mate to join. I will have a go with a couple mates for a laugh, but have my reservations about the day. Just got off the phone to a mate, he usually puts in 2 - 3 teams by himself, so this year he will put in one team, so i assume far less will be bet on the day.

On that race, yes totally cleaned out. Got a good slice back of a few winners Randwick, but no good Melbourne, plenty of time to get it back

You have never seen a more lucky run on the rails in a Melbourne cup, and probably never see in future cups either. Amazing that with the fading runners coming back on the winner, it negotiated around them. The plunge grey did little, the overseas raiders are not ruling like they once did.

But i did hear somebody from TAB met with customer who wanted to remain anonymous….not sure if it was true he was offered cash out even though it wasnt cash out option

Well, First time in many years, i dont have overseas account to fall back on when TAB shits itself…. Both are very slow right now, glitching already, odds are $1.30 we have issues today.

Didnt bag 2 horses…. said Half Yours false 2nd Fav, and said Buckaroo will finish just outside first 3, always the way when a punter has a good all up…. all been there Chief. As per normal, your hiding and not putting your hand up, shame really. Anyway, i have balls, i am confident the winner will come from below numbers, all paying good money. Mostly win bets, but will be covering other bet types with them…. Numbers- 3,6,8,9,10,16 & 17…. fill ya boots, gonna be a good day with some other winners sorted, predicting my best cup day ever.

Well, here are my views… 1, Track will be pretty good, officials saying Soft6, i reckon better by Cup. 2, Half Yours, false 2nd fav for mine. Dont see it running the trip, Melham will be found wanting giving horse a good run, cant see it in first 6. 3, We all know what the punting gods are like, think it runs 4th to avoid the TAB paying punter a big payout, saying that good luck to him. I think a horse winning in double figures…. good luck all

You are bloody hilarious….remember you hardly bet so i cannot see you getting involved in punters comps… Hopefully other punters on here that have competed in previous comps will give their views. I think it is terrible, will not help on course figures at all, as majority of punters bet on phones, hardly going to queue for self service hub…. looks like we are going back in time.

The punters comp at Addington on Show Day, what an absolute shit show. It seems they can no longer run comps like they used to, you know, pay your money, give you a deposit receipt that gets updated when placing bets…. one reason Methven could not run one…. but wait for it! This year, you need to register as a single punter or syndicate, but you will need a TAB account to do all your bets with, you can not place any other bets on your TAB account that day, only option is to place bets on self serve machines…. how bloody stupid. Seems officials will look at your accounts when needed to view amounts, maybe verify, who knows. Crazy really, was going to enter but not sure, wont effect me too much as i have Betcha, but a few punters from Aus wanted to enter themselves, cant now, joke
