  1. Yeah, yeah....but it seems illogical in the extreme to organise experts from Australia to talk to no one.
  2. The inside portion has been shaved - I think to get rid of the poa. But good point nevertheless.
  3. To add a comment - from left field - I just opened an email indicating a 'synthetic track roadshow' presentation from representatives of NZTR, all welcome to discuss the installation of same at Riccarton. This is to be held on Dec 12th , Wednesday next....only problem is that there are trials on that day. Who is the bright spark who decided the day...and why is it that NO ONE from either organisation - which run the blasted things - had any idea that there were trials?
  4. There has recently been an email inviting 'stakeholders' to yet another meet-and-greet with J.A. What is the effing point?
  5. There have been plenty of comments already about the facilities at Cup meeting, but yes, your dissatisfaction is just more of the same reaction. Those in the corporate boxes, or with access to the Committee room, no doubt found things very nice..but unless you purchased a ticket and sported a wristband, no entry to the members' area. I was told the members area was an exercise in not getting squashed or having a drink spilt over you, I can't comment, didn't go near the place. Out the back with the horses, home when they were done, suited me. Probably fair enough, what do members get as a point of difference anyway? bugger all, I am hearing from former members who are disenchanted with the privileges they have paid for...and as for the poor old public? the young ones looking for the party, were no doubt quite happy, but many others were not. The earthquake damage to the old stand is nobody's fault, but the lack of disclosure to those who had pre-purchased tickets was not good enough IMO, and it seems little effort was made to adequately cater for genuine racefollowers who wanted a bet, and to sit and actually watch a race.
  6. Yes, quite. Re. the infrastructure part, I realise that hinges upon funds generated from the theft of assets....but the allweather tracks were supposed to have been funded through the RDF..in part anyway...beats me how Riccarton in a major city qualifies for that, but....
  7. wrt allweather tracks - you are so right, whatever is afoot, whether something or nothing, we should be keep informed. So far we have been told NOTHING from either NZTR or any potentially involved clubs.
  8. Successful?
  9. Yes, exactly. I have learned plenty from the comments on the situation too. Now it is all done and dusted, I can perhaps share some thoughts? Clearly the decision was made on the basis of a breach of contract....where the second instalment was due on a certain date, and then not honoured. Hard to rule against that fact alone. I could have been sucked in too, by the former trainers affirmation that the leg in question had been checked and all was well. He lied. The vendor maintained he didn't know the horse he bred and reared was a windsucker. Really? He also claimed the mare's leg had been scanned.....he told porkies too. Believe no one. Both vendor and former trainer have gone down considerably in my estimation...well, one has, the other didn't have far to fall.
  10. Sure did.
  11. Sure was...although ( allegedly) some of the behaviour was reciprocated.
  12. The ruling has, at last, beeen delivered. The balance of the due amount must be paid and the horse picked up immediately from the agent. At least, now, the papers will be forwarded to the purchasers [ hopefully? ] and the horse can then be re-homed.
  13. So....stripping 'vulnerable regions' of their assets to give to the rich pricks is all about supporting the same, is it?
  14. Certainly, that was the word on the street.
  15. My thoughts precisely
  16. The level was [ apparently ] very low. The other two who tested ' non-negative ' produced a urine sample in a random testing at the track one morning. Those same two were nowhere near Kenny's stabling, and nowhere near the horse concerned, any more than any one of us who could have administered a friendly pat on the way past the tie-ups at the track. All those known to have been anywhere near the stabling over a period of weeks were hair tested. All negative. For the record, anyone, at anytime, can walk in off the street through the visitor's area. Stables for the permanent trainers can be, and are, locked.
  17. I hope you aren't casting aspersions on Kenny.....he is Innocent of any wrongdoing.
  18. I think the prolonged time frame to bring theses charges is disgraceful...poor old A.E is dead now..! and his D.Q and the re-rating of the horses behind, what a shambles. But the matter of un-supervised and unsecured 'visitors' stabling was going to be a problem any time, more so now that testing is much more sensitive and accurate than in earlier times. It is simply unacceptable for racehorses to be stabled in areas where pony clubs, and even just random overnight stayers, have had horses/ponies, and with no-one charged with cleaning the premises afterwards to an acceptable standard. I realise that all costs money, and is just another symptom of a disfunctional organisation that can't even get the basics right. As was said in another topic, if handicapping/date structures/programming - things that DON'T cost money - can't be organised in a better manner, how could any thinking person recommend yet more funding be thrown the way of these 'managers'.? As for the two caught meth positive with the provisional testing, subsequent re-testing didn't prove a positive - which does not indicate innocence btw, trust me on that score - however, neither of those two had anything to do with Kenny's horses, one is a trainer whose own charges didn't throw positives, and the other is a stablehand - and the same applied there too.
  19. I'm anything but an apologist for Molloy, but I can't recall that he ever claimed to be a top-class jockey. He has ridden some top-class horses, both raceday and in training, which is a very different thing.
  20. I think Yamanin Vital broke 2.00 min in a 2000m win, and he was only a journeyman galloper...they breed some serious horses in Japan.
  21. World record?
  22. Meow....
  23. ....they have to listen first to learn.
  24. Looked disgraceful. Get some consistency, with Aus, or UK, and stick with it.
  25. Disputes tribunal hearing has been held with a decision still being awaited by both parties. Vendor has claimed for the balance due, i.e. the unpaid portion. Purchaser has counter - claimed for training and other costs incurred. As a matter of interest - the horse was found to be a windsucker upon acquisition - this fact was not disclosed at time of sale.
