any longshot tips for today 10 to 1 over

The two Moroney- Gerard horses in Races 1 and 2 today have both been working very nicely in the past weeks and will relish the step up to 2000 metres today at Hastings.

They have been training alongside for a few weeks and my gut feel is that both are ready to improve today. They certainly look well enough and a gallop they did last week indicated that an investment should be considered.

Nothing ventured - nothing gained.

Hi Docker. Had both rated in the $8s. Cha Siu Bao 1.5L from winner outran his chance. Kachhi did about what he was rated 7.6L.

Kachhi well back, took the short way home and was making ground well before fading. Cha Siu Bao right in the finish.

Good stuff Docker. I like that your odds varied quite a bit from the 'TAB' odds. Always give you opportunity.

Good stuff Docker, thanks

2 questions and excuse me if they seem a bit goosey, as this is all a learning curve for me

You rated True Enough quite highly, it was paying 20's, surely that was your bet, at 5.50 a place

Why did you not rate Maktoum higher, unlucky last start and raced in stakes company last season, for some reasonable runs

Hi  Hesi

Yes True Enough was the punt. The horse had winning form early in its prep carrying a similar weight over a similar distance on the same track conditions.

[07] X240X True Enough - Has won from draw 4 carrying 59kg over dist
1560m at start 2 on a Dead track. Stats this race: draw 11 wgt 59kg
dist 1500m start 1 track Dead.
[07] X240X True Enough - Has won from draw 5 carrying 59kg over dist
1600m at start 3 on a Dead track. Stats this race: draw 11 wgt 59kg
dist 1500m start 1 track Dead.

Maktoum - I did not allow for the fact its 3rd last start was group one which the TAB market was reflecting (i think). I do factor when a horse drops back but by a large degree does get pass me at times. (something I need to fix)

Cheers

Race 7 #7 Masque is one I have been following. Steps up to 2100m today at Ellerslie, should get the extra distance and currently at $23 & $5 on Bet Easy FO. Not a strong field and justifies at least a place bet.

MASQUE (R Elliot) – Raced wide until improving forward to sit outside the leader passing the 1200 metres.

Interesting prices there to say the least Docker....

I hint you'll find it was Maktoum's very unlucky run last start...not to mention its overall form in  Black Type races...

The first up price while winning was incredible value

A one win horse who performed outstandingly in a G 2 3Yo race....after being unluckily caught wide...before winning a trial..won at 10's!

That didn't pass me by but it's in the past now!

You know the BP ftf

You tipped into it...evidently

BLACK TYPE form in Australia is GOLD back here...

BELLE ran 3rd in a G3 there...back here with an extra year of maturity

Home it rolled

HK, AUS is SUPERIOR FORM...just as NRTH Is form beats Sth Is....almost every time

Ink it on your noggin if you keep forgettin'

Is it a BLUE print ... or a GOLD print? I'm getting confused.

I've used Bazz's narrative....

"Two pots of gold...follow Teds tips...and if a neddy opens at 8's and drifts...just get on"

Pretty much word for f in ridiculous word...

...and you two were lapping it up

Comedy GOLD

You can redeem yourselves though...

Condemn that nonsense now and retain whatever semblance of 'gravitas' yous Fellas have left

If Ted understands the process of finding winners at value, then it's fine. So if they were value before and they drift, that would make them even better value.

It'd be like taking barryb selections and more so if they drift. Barryb has done the hard work for you.

Compared to down in grade and blinkers on which is the idea of a dunce. Since generalisations in relation to all the horses are flawed. They only work after the races when they  win.

I like backing barryb's tips when he gives us the prices he's taken. He's done all the work and I just have to find or wait for a better price. GOLD!

So far almost double my ROI on US racing :) And I hadn't bet on NZ racing for yonks.
