The late Carl Middleton also from Methven was more than likely a son of one of them. Carl was a good trainer of trotters and a decent bloke from what I heard. Yes I did like your comment, then I thought that Paul Nairn wouldve worked out how to train The Ginga better than Alan Clark, as he is a brilliant trainer of trotters. I sincerely apologise if you were offended by the removal of the heart, nothing at all personal, Mehe! It is Xmas/New Year time, and we are all meant to be KIND!!!!!! Davis
16 hours ago, Brodie said: Yes, the Middleton’s, Graeme and Colin, I believe, always had 2 year olds up and running for the first 2 year old races back in the 1970’s and 1980’s. They could run as 2 year olds but didnt go on with it as older horses. I think it was Gordon Middleton mate? His son was Carl who specialised more on trotters and didn't race 2yo as much as the old man did.

I see at motukarara today Tuamata VC was late scratched by the vet after rearing and falling to the track as they lined up. The horse seemed fine afterwards but at least the punters were protected by the late scratching as horses that do that never seem to go much good after. Race 4 at auckland tonight just run. False start, then 2nd start aborted because kelvinz luck falls heavily on the track pre start. What happens, well kelvinz luck passed fit to start after falling. Why would any vet with any sense say falling to the track heavily pre start would not effect a horses performance. As expected it ran poorly. Why would they start it, don't need to give the activists any more fuel for the fire, remember years ago backed a horse at kumara, had been trailing well, got away from from the jockey and done a lap, refunded my bet, the horse leads all the way and wins, elvis was its name I think,by golden elder, was many years back.
