O M G SPITFIRE

I've said it before,and i'll say it again.O M G SPITFIRE.

Showed keenness to take a foward position from the mobile second row, ending up 4 back the outer.

Midrace lead changes promoted Spitfire to a rare one/one position.

Set alight near turn to come three wide into straight, was soon within a length of leader, then kept narrowing the gap, surging to the lead in shadows of the post.

Showed his maiden win to be no fluke, and again, full credit to Amber Hoffman.

Gammalite, are you tempted to get a Syndicate of Mates together to buy The Spitfire, and get him trained in South Australia, where he could campaign around Globe Derby for several more seasons before retirement!😜

Have raced several kiwis purchased through John Devlin (R.I.P) and the South Auckland Bloodstock Agency back before children days, and I actually feel quite bad about it.

So many good horses from NZ sold off to Aus over the years (planeloads over the years) leading to the ALLstars having nearly all the best stock left behind to race in NZ, and therefore dominating . Don't feel good that I was contributing towards that, and the small numbers left racing now in faster class.

So NO WAY would I buy Spitfire and deprive the locals there in NZ, the chance to see the mighty beast in action.

Seriously, if there is not a look into how this Averos Spitfire can go from being a total dud to winning 2 in a row from a new stable, then things are not right!

As I said before, Andrew Faulks must be wondering how on earth a horse that he had in his stable and was nil, could go to another stable and win 2 in a row?

Has someone checked the freeze brand, as the horse that has wanted to win his last  2 starts, is not the same horse that couldnt in its previous few years of racing!

You can not say it is the beach training as I believe The horse would’ve been on the beach with Andrew Faulks?

Good on the new owners and it shows that perseverance can sometimes pay off, however this improvement in this horse does not seem right!!!!!!

Oh dear.  Here come the conspiracy theories!

Chief, no conspiracies, just amazed at how a professional trainer can not get close to a win with a horse in several seasons and now we have  2 in a row with a horse that wants to try!

It happens.  He looks a happier horse and his condition looks better.  As I've said before he always looked capable of winning a race or two.  He wasn't so far away that some minor changes be it gear, feed, change in training miles or environment would have been enough to make a difference.

It might have been as simple has keeping him a bit fresher and not doing the traditional boring jogging miles day after day.

Some trainers tend to not individualise their training and feeding regimes enough.  The top stables will analyse bloods and determine what is wrong.  For example today I read an article that detailed how you can determine if the training you are giving a horse is not optimal by checking the ratios of certain blood components.

well and truly off the money with this

almost as bad as your twirl moment

Ranga, the horse shouldve been retired when it was not good enough to run a place.

The new owners are having fun but the owners who previously owned it lost a packet!

Excuse the alzheimers but what us the twirl moment?
