Joe Bloggs
Sad to see the owners of this horse offered a substantial donation to Starship, the children's hospital foundation in Auckland only to have it refused? It was in the region of $575,000? Hello, what lowlife scum would do that to sick, crook and dying children, some woke, useless virtue signalling ill-informed hospital executive.,,,,that's who. Never in my life have I seen behaviour like this, front page news in this mornings New Zealand Herald, any thoughts team?

Chief Stipe
Apparently the declining was due to a contractual clause with another sponsor of Starship. Which begs the question how do they accept LOTTO donations? Anyway Muscular Dystrophy NSW were the eventual beneficiaries. Gary Chittick said this morning on Newstalk ZB that there were some very very happy recipients in the birdcage after the race. A $1m was distributed to charities. Freda
I didn't think the NZ public would be silly enough to put them in the second time. How wrong I was. I could be wrong again...perish the thought.

They are all green as grass and woke as as well where we are pale and stale(and some of us male) It's like the silly bitch 'influencer'(who I have never heard of I might add) reckoning she got offered money to go to the Melbourne Cup. The do gooders will be lapping the story up(and no doubt they will be at the gate of Riccarton Saturday week as well) I had an Uncle - a bit of a racing man - Kevin Doolan. When once presented with some new theory being paraded as fact he was heard to comment 'You don't seriously believe that f#*%^*g bullshit do you?' 1 1
curious
It's gone to a good cause in the end but that is insane. I know and have worked with a number of kids and families who have been substantially helped by Starship and it has been my primary choice for charitable donations the last 5 or 6 years. That has come to a halt as of this morning. So, a five figure annual sum they will no longer get. I hate to do it but if they start screening donors for involvement in gambling and racing, they probably won't want it anyway. 3 1

Crusher who was hated by most was the leader, after Bill English and Simple Simon was sent packing then Muller fell off his perch. We had some MP down your way pulling out his dick taking a photo and sending it to young women. We had a former President passing on confidential medical info to some MP who put it out in the public domain. Then there was the sex fend who stood for a seat the North Shore, the rent a crowd, Crusher picking on the fatties. Gee no wonder the Tories got a right old spanking at the polls. 1
The Centaur
News media just can't get it right. Firstly it was a partnership conflict. Everyone knows who the partner is but do you think the media will tell us. NO!. The media get plenty advertising from LOTTO so they aren't going to say anything nasty about LOTTO Then the story changed. Starship didn't want gambling money. But that didn't sit right with LOTTO after all the they ARE a gambling outfit. So the story changed again they didn't want racing money. No doubt someone would have told them the late Queen was a staunch racing follower. So the story is back now with a sponsor i.e. LOTTO that is competing with racing. If a reporter was diligent enough he would point out that the money is coming from overseas and from a non gambling entity i.e. a racing club. They are not competing with LOTTO. Just goes to show that the huge salaries paid to these dumb twits has always been excessive and a waste.

Although the TAB isn't an exemplar of efficiency but LOTTO makes them look world leading. Correction: LOTTO only returns 55% of what it collects. Chief Stipe
With regard to LOTTO there is an opportunity here for the Racing Industry. Where are all the industry CEO's and Marketing teams at the TAB and the codes? Come on go full on aggressive noise and pull back some revenue!!! I bet my bottom dollar that they'd do this in OZ! nomates
I've heard on the grape vine that the CEO of Starship has been short listed for the next Head of NZTR , apparently has all the qualities that NZ racing needs to keep driving racing into the ground , dumb arse decisions . 1 2

All The Aces
The joint statement from the Starship Foundation and Waikato Studs reads: "The Starship Foundation welcomes donations from gaming societies and the horse racing industry, and has long been the grateful beneficiary of donations of this nature. Donations are the life-blood of the Starship Foundation and every single dollar enables Starship Children's Hospital to deliver world-class healthcare for children. "Mark Chittick's offer to be involved with and become the potential beneficiary of the charity component of the Golden Eagle Race, came in at 3pm and required us to make a rapid decision by close of business the same day. As with any charity, due diligence is an essential part of our responsibility to accept donations. In this instance, considerations around the size and off-shore nature of the donation regrettably could not be resolved within this timeframe. "We are tremendously disappointed that we could not meet the deadline and become the beneficiary of this incredibly generous donation. If we had had more time, the decision may very well have been different. "We have spoken directly to Mark this afternoon and he too is disappointed at the outcome, but acknowledges there were time pressures involved. He would have loved to be involved in the Golden Eagle with the Starship Foundation as the beneficiary and he remains a huge supporter of the incredible work the Hospital does for children and families in need," the statement said. "Both the Starship Foundation and Waikato Stud have a huge amount of respect for each other’s work and industries and intend to work together to build a partnership in the future.” Waikato Stud principal, Mark Chittick. Who we can assume is probably LOTTO.
