Carter Dalgety- Best Junior since Dexter!

Brodie

Recommended Posts

Well Sam Payne has spoilt the party with a well timed run with 'Anna Love' to take the Junior Drivers race above. (R6 today) and costing me the quinella.

Carter Dalgety with a near perfect drive takes 2nd placing  , heading off Sarah (3rd with 'Better be Sharp')  as they came up the long grassy straight.

So yes , it's a point to Carter sadly, and Brodster getting ever closer to the pace (and the money)

Points Update = Sarah O'Reilly 3 points, Carter Dalgety 2 points.

Anna Love was the best bet in the race by far. Wasn't confident about the driver getting any luck in the straight but was happy to back it at those odds each way. Add in the two top juniors and an easy trifecta.

Morries Girl was way under the odds in that race with Fitzgerald driving and boosted the odds on all the others. I have done well in the past in the junior driver races backing against him as he is normally on a form horse and a very high percentage of the time runs out of the money.

You've done well to back against me in Junior races lately when it was my first drive back in the Junior ranks for 3 years 😂

Personally believe Carter is better now even though he is far more inexperienced and will be more successful in the future.

The head to heads see Carter drawn 9 alley today Brodie,  with Casino Action (Sarah at the Pole-marker) R8 Nelson.

and on Tuesday at Ashvegas Carter drawn the very outside again with Pink Panther Bounce in the juniors. Sarah on Topaz on the second row.

Your boy is gunna have to at his Very Best to Pull off the 2 Wins ??  How good is he ??

Plus I'm giving Sarah a point for LONE WOLF. no Carter in that one but too bad 😉 . Sarah drove a special 😂

points update  SarahO'Reilly 4 pts, CarterDalgety  2 pts.

Carter has done the right thing by Brodster and after Beating John Dunn with AJIRA and costing him driving the Quaddie in the process, has engaged him to drive the horse today , instead of Sarah !!!

so Now the EVANGELIST's of matthew, mark, luke and 'Honest'John ,gamma and Davis are staring down the barrel of a Carter team-play at Nelson today to draw level on the head to head challenge , and send us back to 'church' for prayer lol. 😂 here's the field today Race 8. and the point added for the sensational Carter drive on AJIRA on day 1.

Sorry Gamma, Sarah is very good, however Carter is the better driver the UDR clearly shows this now and he hasn’t needed to go to Palmy for easy kill!

Sarah has more drives than Carter at the mo but young Carter is going to be picking the drives left right and centre soon.

You will admit in the future that Brodie is on the money lol

Anyway it is good for the industry and we need more of them.

Dunn benefit day at Nelson.

I can admit it today matey.  Brodie on the money with a great driving little Carter D. why wait for the future. get in now while the goings good 😊🏆

They just broke 1.53 in the race today we were covering. wow !!. A sterling peach drive again by Carter . not afraid to get into the death seat and be close enough on the turn with Casino Action. then outstayed them all !!!!!  10/10 yet again? cool as a cowcumber. and another easy driving point too . oh dear.........

'Win everything JDunn' couldn't even beat him after cosy trip. 3rd with Ajira. Sarah O'Reilly flashing up late for 4th sending all us 'evangelist's to the wall lol... 😂  (and you only get $750 prizemoney for 4th Sarah 😉) not enough lol.

points now  Carter 4 , Sarah 4 ...............  next stop juniors race 6 Ashburton Tuesday.

To be fair mate, Casino Action was by far the best horse in the field, so he should have won. Stevie Wonder could have got it home. Both Dalgety horses better than the rest in that field. Sarah's drive Evangelist isn't much of a horse, inconsistent and needs a soft run to feature in the finish.

I liked evangalist in that race and i thought it ran up to its form.

Miss o'reilly went back early and as a result the zac butcher driven jazelle, who drew outside her and who hadn't gone forward  either, but hadn't gone back to the same extent, ended up getting in front of her.As a result of that,Evangalist never looked close enough to win.In hindsight, the difference between winning and running 4th was what happened in the first 100m.

Current UDR

Carter Dalgety .4902

Sarah O’reilly .1440

You would have to think that Carter is the better driver at this stage by quite a lot and definitely the equal of Dexter in only his second season of driving?

Best UDR of any Junior ever for 15 drives or more?

Did you watch Gregs interview with Dexter on box seat recently?it may not be long before Carter joins Dexter over there in the future.dexter cleared 1 million last season after tax and who knows how much slings he got on top.why bother even planning a future in Australasia when you can make so much money in north America if you can survive the daily mass shootings

It would appear that with the success of the ozzies and Kiwis over in the States, there will be others that go as well.

John Dunn has also mentioned ithat he may well be going in the next few years as well.

Things need to change but We are not seeing too much being done for the betterment of the industry.

Just having a look at the latest 2 Junior Drivers Races results. At Rangiora last Sunday and Ashburton last Monday Junior driver races.

Seems Carter going ok and running 2nd in both of them. but Out-driven maybe ?? 😂 Outdriven by young Aussie Lass Shannon O'Sullivan. taking victory in both those races. Thought you guys had had enough of Natalie showing the drivers there how to do it ?? do ya need some more Aussies to get ya sorted?

Any excuses Brodster ??😉

Am I allowed to say full blown wrist action Chief?

If the majority of the best drivers can't adapt to it after all this time then isn't it obvious that it is a stupid rule?  Mind you a great revenue source!

The funny thing about the s o'sullivan drive on ardens delight was she was spoken to "advisedly about chewing gum,and warned of the health and safety implications".

If you watched the trackside close up as they came down the straight with a round to go,you can actually see her blowing a bubble with the chewing gum, when carter dalgety is taking the lead off her. Quite funny i thought.

Actually when you think about it,thats the type of thing that could be given a push to get a bit of mainstream media coverage.

"aussie driver shows you can chew gum and drive harness winners at the same time".

All they would need to show was the 20 second montage of the differing stages of the race that trackside showed after the race, while telling viewers to take particular note of the driver in the purple blowing bubbles with her chewing gum while in a duel for the lead, they could stop it at the point she pops it on her face, then the 5 second bit of the end of the race as a wrap. They would have a footnote that the aussie driver was spoken to advisedly about the possible health and safety implications of chewing gum by stewards.

Isn't it the type of thing that may get some coverage. People like to be amused and it would be a good bit of publicity for the sport.

Haven't heard that before lol. Shannon has been fined a couple of times in Aus for 'Noise' . screams like a banshee sometimes like Damien Oliver does at the gallops,  to scare the beejeezus out of the horse and get that extra bit of finish pace .

Just as well the stewards were never at the Test cricket. Mark Taylor , Mark Waugh , Shane Warne and many other Baggy Greens too,  make the milking cow herd of dairy cows look so slow ,the cricket lads could of cleared the pasture in a day. Chewing like mad things lol...
