  1. I strongly doubt that, with NZTR approach to racing in this country.
  2. Of course you can come from anywhere at any track depending on the track/tempo, but you cannot tell me youre not at a considerable advantage jumping well and putting yourself in the first 3 in a race at the likes of Kumara , that imo makes for boring racing and thats mostly what I saw yesterday. As for praise Kumara RC gets and has had more than enough praise compared to its peers , apart from the novelty factor etc at Kumara much of it is no more warranted than other country/picnic venues that's the point I'm making. Many let a piss up in the countryside distort their view.
  3. Trentham imo is the best track in NZ or rather has the potential to be the best track in the country, this of course may well change with the introduction of the new Ellerslie surface which at first glance looks amazing. But I agree with everything you say regarding the facilities and the running of the club, my recent visits have not been as pleasant as the in the past. I go to the Oaks meeting every year with a group of people and that day has lost all of its impotence imho.
  4. I think people have always appreciated those things, thats always been the case , there has always been a demand for them. The point I'm making is its now quite acceptable for Trackside,NZTR & In crowd to give country picnic racing the thumbs up in public.
  5. Trentham doesn't always play like that, Kumara does however.
  6. More interestingly why is there now a culture of acceptance of for these country/picnic meetings?
  7. Yeah about the only race of the day where the jump & run wasn't at play, but clearly the play in the nuggets was set up for the winner.
  8. It is certainly interesting how the picnic locations are now all of a sudden getting high praise from everyone, especially those on trackside. I'm all for the picnic locations and the Kumara crowd looks great & can be replicated at other venues, but the track & the racing there looks awful(jump & run or no hope) & I think Kumara get away with it because of the novelty gimmicky factor i.e. Nuggets, in the middle of no where , I'm guessing byo etc.

    DRONGOS

Couldn't have said it better myself, tired of the nonsense from these brainwashed fools like T4eva, the racing industry will soon pay the ultimate price because of ignorant views like this. Every year that goes by the Summer racing gets worse and worse and every year the only ones put up as successful are the country clubs giving the people what they want, unfortunately we are doomed with the decisions that have been made.
  10. Ride on Waitak incredible! Can NZ hold on to him?
  11. Like I said , it's all rigged in club land depending on what club you are or from.
  12. 5% is wildly excessive, especially in NZ where it appears to be a rehoming programme for only those in the club.
  13. We all know why that horse was named top 2yo , as I say you'd have be naive or have stars in ya idolising eyes not to .
  14. What a load of garbage, working together NZTR style isn't working together as such ,it's submitting to the whims of NZTR, entities(read stables) & the club(s) they favour financially, operationally & from a race day perspective. There is never any logic to it , it's all based on bias & is more rigged than a North Korean election!
  15. Those you put on a pedestal or in your case idolise is enough to show anyone the level of naivety you operate under.
  16. They have absolutely no chance of the race being upgraded you're dreaming , if only racing in this country worked like you think it does.
  17. Do you think there would be any attempt by the Pattern committee or NZTR for that matter to have the Timaru Cup upgraded based on what the OP has noted? Not to mention several other issues noted by the OP, it is not a level play field out there not even close, you are very naive if you think it is.
  18. There is a simple solution to getting it upgraded , simply transfer the Timaru Cup to the Auckland Racing Club, the race will likely be upgraded to a G1 within 3 seasons. Like most things in club land racing in NZ it's just another rigged capper.
  19. Most everything with your idols & BGP stinks a fair bit.
  20. Hasn't been the same horse since oh I don't know when...
  21. Several prospective wives coming from adverts , things are looking up.
  22. Is it a BGP horse?
  23. Like so many things in NZracing, they just don't care.
  24. Looks absolutely beautiful and some exciting racing on the cards in the not too distant future.
  25. Perhaps , but a country track would probably have less than 60 horses trained at that track for a start. It's not hard to take an honest discerning approach to designating country tracks. Id even say Trentham & Te Rapa cd be considered based on numbers in training.
