  1. That may well be the case , but several precedents have been set in the past whereby the horses were out for a period of time also. This looks more & more like a Clayton's penalty with the transfer straight away to the brother.
  2. Haha , you said there was none.
  3. I must have been on my annual holiday to the Sunshine Coast when Conquistador when up for grabs on Gavel, oh wait a minute it was exported to Aus & never raced that must be why, horse probably went on holiday. Who can ever forget (especially the fan boys) No Limits going up for sale on Gavelhouse, well I don't remember it but look forward to you telling me how it went on the online auction?
  4. There are countless, if that stable will let them go.
  5. I think after 2nd year of the "Grand Tour" and we will be back on track!
  6. We all know this trainer has been well protected by the establishment , that's open and easy for all to see. But isn't there a stand down period for the horses a trainer trains after a DQ, this trainers horses look like they have been directly transferred into a family members name? Does this family member train at the same property as trainer?
  7. Some great points, but racing in this country just shoots itself in the foot over and over again. As for the staff well they would not have even considered it, you'd think the Aus night racing situation would have the consider it, but there is no consultation outside of the preferred few , no analysis , no initiative , too busy writing apologies over abandonments.
  8. Nepotism exists in a very large way in the NZ industry, facts & figures mean nothing . One of the reasons we are heading towards oblivion !
  9. I don't agree, the assessment by those in the know around tracks was a warning that the number of tracks proposed for being used or the tracks being used wouldn't cope with the demands put on them & they were right. Also the assessment of tracks left for racing was done by location & nepotism nothing more nothing less. I don't buy into all this garbage around crowds on course in NZ , racing is primarily a TV product outside of a few race days in this country, therefore the most important thing is that we can hold race meetings for punters to wager on. One question no one could answer when these tracks were being intentionally mothballed was what do these so called excessive unneeded tracks cost the industry? Where are the proposed cost savings? Most of these venues are happily run by volunteers for their local community. Of course the irony of most of these tracks is they are being used by trainers to prepare their horses for race day , remembering these tracks were unneeded because we had too many. Mark my words if the current fools running the industry continue down the same path, the NZ industry will be in a terminal state in the next few years.
  10. Worst thing is the circus has been given control over all the other tracks in the country.
  11. Well duh! ... I think we know that more than ever now, some of the tracks the clowns kept open are the stuffed ones , especially the ones with your precious infrastructure built around them in most cases. As has already been pointed out on this thread, Bernard Saundry nonsense around closing tracks has cost the local industry dearly, very dearly in fact, one of if not the most hopeless administrators we have ever seen in NZ and my word is that saying something!
  12. Youre the man with the stats , you tell me?
  13. Yes and be prepared to pay handsomely for this so called success!
  14. People have been paid 1000's to put this together, they were told it they (AWT) were not wanted but spent the $$$ anyway, as it turns out I was wrong as it seems even if they'd put another Strathyr in they would have also messed that up based on the Ellerslie embarrassment.
  15. Bought as a racehorse first & foremost.
  16. So what you're saying is you have a bad chance of a ROI on a horse with TA?
  17. We are talking opinion here ,but Frankel would win the Tancred by 15L ... you can't make it up!
  18. That's the entire point your making SLB, youre assuming the form these horses show is translated into exactly the same form down under, its not , some improve some don't the same could be said for the form in Europe that you overrate .
  19. That person took a ticket in the annual TA lottery , I don't get your point here? The same person could have spent 2.5% of the cost to get into Espionage (who at least won a race I guess) but cost $875k & won $22k in stakes & there are countless examples of this.
  20. Fell in ...whatever , she traveled half way across the planet to beat them on their own turf.
  21. Coming from someone being pretentious...please!!!
  22. Thats a good point, I guess the thinking is they are keeping punters there for longer.
  23. Don't be a pompous Git! It was mooted that they would meet over 1400m when they were both racing , a distance both horses won a G1 over, you're not the racing aficionado you think yourself to be.
