    Realise that, but despite the context our Group form is held in reality , you would have to think that a double G1 winning 2yo would be worth at least as much as the prizemoney of the MM?

    Shame as is probably the best 2yo in NZ & you would have to think would have been hard to beat in both G1 races. Seemed a strange decision to send her over for that race given the strength of 2yos in Australia.

    That may be true , but wouldn't you organise maintenance work around your race meetings not to occur to inhibit your race meeting?

    Just someone with a bit of heart who looked like they cared about the long term future of the industry, in particular someone who had a passion for punting or 1 of the 3 codes. This reads again like another corporate BSer who'll bring in the service mantra from Air NZ/Banking etc that doesn't work in this industry. Having said that Mckenzie was supposed to be the golden god to take the industry to the next level, he did the easiest thing there is in cutting costs (of that we have to be gateful at least I guess) but the organisation still seems to be treading water.

    The real worry is he was one of the only candidates and knows how screwed the industry is and is here to do what the last 4 or 5 have done, in fact thats the impression I get. Unless of course Fairy Flash was involved in the interview process , he'll then be thinking its honky dory! I can't wait to hear from the big wigs how good this guy is gonna be , its happened in every single TAB & NZTR appointment.

    Very true , but the fools running the industry have their eyes on a cash injection from sale of profitable assets. That is really all they have that is their plan fall back or not that's the plan.

    I guess the real reason NZTR like to perpetuate the myth is so that they can justify their existence, as in reality what this really shows is that the industry would be just fine without them.

    No of course I don't. I however expect him to comment in generalised fashion if it meant that much to him from an industry perspective, it clearly does not until it potentially impacts on his Karaka Million night.

    So if he cared that much why didn't he mention it before it happened to his go to rider? You know the answer to that , as for others not mentioning it you also know the answer to that. TA feel very vulnerable when everything isn't going their way.

    Going to be a great race this one, also an unbeaten horse in the race and Habana whose run I was quite impressed with last start at Taupo. Just hope there is no problems with the best track in the country this week.

    Good spot and this is how they probably worked it out. Well I've got something for an Open mile in between days at the Trentham carnival , so lets have it!
