  1. Not only that it's a complete misunderstanding of your customer base, a complete disregard for the industry. Surely there were other areas for cost savings before this crazy decision?
  2. You just can't keep a good man/princess down !
  3. Exactly it doesn't worry the likes of Uneasy because he has a big enough team to be advantaged by the system somewhere in the handicap. Whats happens when you have something wins a couple of races then boom its in the Open races , how do you place it? Can't be that hard to just run R72+R82 together, before the Covis meltdown the fields were that way inspired any way.
  4. Ya wouldn't be barefoot in them this time of year though would ya?
  5. I agree with the complete rebuild , it also needs new leadership at the helm of NZTR they are going nowhere and have been for sometime.
  6. No but then you're just getting the rating bands in effect. I think the 72&82 grades should probably be combined and some thought given to better programming for the Open races. I think the ability of higher rated horses may become more prevalent as the tracks improve. Maybe a think tank amongst trainers as to how this can be achieved. 6 to 8 horse fields don't seem to be a problem in Australia & if realistic stake levels are set I don't see why they should be a problem here.
  7. Here is the thing these guys don't get. Most trainers want to place their horses themselves and take them through the grades. They also seem to have little understanding of the wastage these races cause or will cause if persisted with over a prolonged period of time. The betting on them is obviously better than maidens because form generates the turnover, that would be no different than if the were R72 races with decent sized fields or not.
  8. Yep , seriously impressive!
  9. Agree especially when they are well, try that one on Dummy Myers.
  10. She'll probably win a couple on her home track this weekend, so get on! and usually when it rains it pours! I don't think you can say she hasn't had the cattle though, she has some pretty well bred stock go through the stable particularly compared to others.
  11. Having said that would it matter if they were 1mill or 250k so long as all the hype, marketing & promo with a twilight Saturday racemeeting in summer was still all part of it?
  12. But NZTR are clearly supporting/influencing them. Wouldn't happen without them. Take for example the venues plan all made with this in mind.
  13. This is what happens you don't have strong leadership in the industry or persons running it who haven't a clue about the advantages or disadvantages of such decisions. Don't forget the head of NZTR thought horses galloped every day till recently, that might seem like a small thing but it gives a fair insight into the lack of knowledge these people making decisions have regarding the sport.
  14. Once again much like the M report and the fair tax stakes increase a decision made on benefiting a certain few instead of the many imo.
  15. I hope I'm wrong , but I just feel like this whole dependence on putting racing onto AWT in NZ is going to ruin the sport in NZ.

    Why?

No its a very difficult job in NZ especially, but tipping 4 like they do well success rate should be a bit better than it is. The trouble is in NZ its formula tic to a certain degree.
  17. I couldn't agree more, it does help riding for a top trainer and knowing what you have under you when you likely ride them at work. She is definitely a star in the making if she wants to be. Here is hoping.
  18. Does the watch and bet actually show the game? It doesn't on my phone if it supposed to.

    Why?

I agree, but just seems to me one entity should be looking after all of that stuff not split or duplicated between the two.

    Why?

Does anyone know why NZTR or Loveracing ,now have TS1/TS2 and Loveracing Form,Tips etc on their website? Just interested to know is this part of what they are now morphing into under the new act? i.e. dissolving responsibilities to the codes. I'd have thought you'd want the access to the TS channels available at the source of betting, to generate interest in opening an account punting etc? Does seem to be a bit of duplication going on between the TAB & NZTR if not.
  21. No argument from me there, but when you have a horse and you want to run it and don't make the rules unfortunately you have to take what you can get so I can understand owners / trainers wanting to race.
  22. I get very annoyed when you go to check a result by checking the race number tab and nothing comes up seems to happen alot. So you have to click results tab, very annoying on phone.
  23. Absolutely and from an entertainment point of view am I the only one who finds it incredibly boring?
  24. Haha I'm exactly the same, if I hear Rodley or Sweeney pick them & I've already had a bet I bang my head on nearest wall.
