  1. And stories like this (and in doing a Google search for this particular story I was stunned how many other ones came up) don't help either https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/racing/117206318/race-horse-owner-and-trainer-lisa-corfield-convicted-after-neglecting-starving-horsess
  2. PS and you Thomass regularly bring up examples that are contrary to Mary's narrative. Use of whips would be a prime example
  3. However sensible and fact based it sounds to us most (non-racing) people will regard it as merely counter spin and with the face we present to the public of old white male dinosaurs (mostly well off) - I know where the sympathies will lie.
  4. Oh absolutely
  5. Maybe not. Have Trackside on and the Graphic just read M$ R10 Bevan Sweeney Selcts - no attention to detail which has been dogging Tside for years - as well as Bev
  6. Haven't bought a Saturday Dom for awhile but I see in another "sensible" move that have included the Sunday fields instead of re-running the fields put in the Friday paper.
  7. Three domestic meetings on a Saturday and one on the Monday of a long weekend. Bizarre
  8. Rare Saturday off so I can follow the racing but both domestic meetings had their ratings changed after Race 1. Still looking after the punters
  9. Thought the same. Then I thought too little too late, damage is done etc etc
  10. How to bankrupt a licence to print money 101
  11. Well "working with Sweeney" is a huge handicap to start with
  12. So no big bonanza from fixed odds - what a surprise
  13. And lets not forget the brilliant decision made by the political savvy tandem of Hughes/Allen of borrowing money on the basis of expecting to get the racefields legislation passed in an election year.
  14. The fact of the matter is that JA said if he didn't turn things around in 3 years he would walk. He didn't and he stayed. He had a good reputation, whether he deserved that or not or whether it was all perception (which it so often is), that is gone but I am sure it won't stop him getting another top job somewhere. An abject failure and disappointment
  15. Its never made any sense Freda.

      • Haha
  17. Its called double dipping
  18. So Glenda is standing for the Greater Wellington Regional Council. Her slogan on the billboard I saw yesterday was that a vote for her (and a couple of her cohorts) is a vote for competence. Making the TAB bankrupt is not competence.
  19. No point being passionate if you're arrogant and stupid Steve https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/league/warriors/115334796/warriors-coach-stephen-kearney-says-theres-no-drama-with-cameron-george
  20. Valid concerns is an understatement Freda. In some cases "scam" is what I would call it
  21. CG always thinks he knows better - he's an Aussie he knows more about racing and league than mere Kiwis. Just don't call him Mate - he won't cop that (eejit that he is) https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/league/warriors/115232257/nrl-stephen-kearney-wants-cameron-george-warriors-off-footy-talk
  22. Happy for McGrath. Sometimes where there's smoke there's a smoke machine.
  23. Don't think I always agreed with him but always felt sorry for him having a parade of idiots and the next best thing to work with and for and of course leaving and he being left to clean up the mess.
  24. Obviously no applicants that were obsequious enough for their liking. Dodgy Fokerd still on the selection committee?
