  1. 5 trial days in last year and four race dates. Still hardly excessive by any means.
  2. Not sure about that statement in regard to Taupo with only four race meetings a year.
  3. Is there a problem with the 800m area at Taupo? Yesterday's stipe report Following the running of this race a track inspection was carried out by Stipendiary Stewards, trainers, riders and Club representatives after it was reported that JAKAMA JILL had lost its footing making the bend near the 800 metres, with the decision being made to abandon the meeting due to safety concerns. Three races abandoned in April 2017 stipe report After the race a number of riders expressed concern reporting that their mounts had lost their footing going into the bend near the 800 metres. After meeting with all riders an Inspection Committee undertook a track inspection of the area of concern finding a number of slip marks being apparent with the remainder of the meeting being abandoned at 1.50 pm due to unsafe track conditions. Both meetings showery with slow 7 rated tracks.
  4. Chief. 20 hours you have had this up and four people agree with you and four don't. Not a great reaction by anyone's standards. As Meghan states in the song.…."You gotta let it go." ?
  5. "Don't really care".…a very wishy washy ill defined option. " No" is a far more definitive option.and with decisive authority. The answer to your poll is NO!!!!! Not at all.definitely not.naddah
  6. Where is the NO option. For those of us with enough comprehension who don't find it irritating, infuriating and/or difficult to read . The poll is so biased it's irritating and infuriating.…. ?
  7. So best to ignore your pricing is what you are saying Curious. You don't care if you get them badly wrong. Point taken. ?
  8. Curious was a mile off Mardigras in his assessment. Not even close. Compare your pricing and his for the race. Chalk and cheese. A least some criticism may make him lift him game. ?
  9. Don't know about you Chief but how could anybody with a few clues rate Endless Drama at $40.00 and Te Akau Shark at $18.00. He rated Melody Belle at $2.30. Then as second equal elects had Authentic Paddy and Consensus at $10.00. Lunacy at it's finest!! Authentic Paddy did run third in the race last year and tries his heart out but he is a 10yo now and how in God's name could one rate Consensus over 1200m on a wet track, well that one defies all logic. They finished second last and third last respectively btw.
  10. On Saturday he priced Endless Drama at $40.00!!! (Even had Te Akau Shark at $18.00) A horse who had finished third in the G1 Stradbroke at his last start and who had trialed impressively going into the race. $40 yeah right!!! Pftt. To be fair he did rate The Gordonian in the Winter Classic as overs as did everyone else bar one when rating the race as the bookies were miles out on that one. However as they say even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then. Verry Flash $35.00 and Endless Drama $40.00 Wish he was putting them up on Betfair. ?
  11. 3 x 10k & 2 x 5k
  12. In the case of the track becoming sticky and holding during the day they would incur a fine Chief. They can only late scratch penalty free with a change in the rating of the track during the day.
  13. I think Thomas is the one judging Curious..... re weight etc. ?
  14. ? Unbelievable!! A 10kg difference in weight for example you would never factor in at all.
  15. I gather the other would be Mr Universe, a 4yo entire (should have been gelded) who is now with his third trainer. Aalaalune over 1000m at Ruakaka was never a certainty. She did well to run a close second at that distance. From what I have heard the owner is a nightmare to train for so it should be an interesting scenario with Rogie. Shame for Jacob but a lot of stress would have also been loaded up into the float and gone away with the two horses. Jacob will be stronger for it.
  16. Stating the obvious Chief. Of course you have to try and figure out which horse wins the race but you also have to do the same with the fully fledged riders who don't claim. There are better apprentices just as there are better senior riders and that is all part of the equation. But one has to look very closely at a good apprentice taking weight off a horse's back particularly when one rates the horse a winning chance without the allowance. The idiots are quick to jump on Thomas when he makes mention of an apprentice claim. As to value, have a look at their price ratings over the past few weeks and you will see a big variance in pricing of runners amongst the posters. Value is subjective to each person and what is value to one is not to another ie it can swing wildly. Surely the object is to back the actual winner rather than back a "so called value runner" that runs down the track. You only have to look at Barry's value runner scenario selection which he gave up on after closing in on a four fiqure loss to work that one out.
  17. Not to mention Saturday at Counties where apprentices won four and Riccarton where they won four. Woodville they won three of the seven. First day Riccarton they won three and of course Te Rapa where they won six of the eight races. Apprentices in the past week have won 25 of the 45 flat races. I hope these experts listened to what Asvin Goindasamy had to say post race after Scaglioni's win over Paisley Park. And I thought I would mention the report that have come out of France recently re the women rider's winning statistics since they were given a claim. Claims making a difference in a race...….who knew? The experts on the other channel...…..yeah....na!!
  18. BTW Muzza the man you know so well is NGH not NDH and there is no reason why he couldn't show Em how to balance better. FYI Em parted company from Laekeeper on the flat both days. Perhaps putting her irons down a notch could help.
  19. Stop embellishing....he never had a sister. ?
  20. The start was delayed due to the two D Crozier stable runners being incorrectly saddled. D Crozier was charged with a breach of Rule 614(2) in that he had been neglectful in saddling these two runners. D Crozier was further charged with a breach of Rule 656(5)(b) after producing a breath alcohol result in excess of the allowed level. Both charges were adjourned to be heard at Riccarton Racecourse prior to Race 1 on Saturday 10 August.
  21. Well this is what the Shark said about the first day run: RACE 8 1 Laekeeper ($4.00) Runner up to the smart Jackfrost in the 2018 running of the Grand National Hurdles. Ignore his last start in the Sydenham - the jockey got knocked off when beginning his challenge. He'll relish every metre of this. Perhaps he meant "knocked up" and that is why she overbalanced today. ?
  22. Still pretty green. Trial in May is worth watching also.
  23. You may well be already validated. Ring the TAB help desk on the 0800 number and they will let you know.
  24. The second horse is the one to watch. ?
