  1. I think you may have got that pik wrong Thommas. I don't think that is a stand at HQ.
  2. Keep up with the play Thomas. You read out of context. I was referring to the idiot who went onto the track and the using of racial profiling "male caucasion" hence well he was at the races. Waddell is DQd and of course cant be at the races.
  3. Well he was at the races . But yes I wondered also why it was reported that way in the Stewards report.
  4. For Wellington Cup day Thomas is right. That track was a disgrace yesterday.
  5. Ang it looks like they also get a free bonus bet of $25.00 also. Outstanding. Punters Club Update You will have seen now that your $100 is worth $96. We rolled the dice in the last and just come up short That is two years now where we have come unstuck in the last for the same size bet! Madison county couldn’t get it done two years ago and this time Aegon breaks our hearts. Here’s the good news The TAB will top your share back up to $100 for the members who withdraw to their TAB accounts. Remember you will receive a bonus bet of $25 per account also. We will get these processed early this week. Thanks again for being apart of an amazing evening! We hope you enjoyed it where ever you were in the country
  6. I would have thought they wouldn't get any better advertising, especially when the bet came in at well overs the tote dividend.
  7. Just listening to Claydon on Sunday on the Love Racing site and the return is money back $100.00. TAB topping up from the $96.00 last night return.
  8. I read that the TAB are introducing fixed odds quinella bets for everyone starting in March I think from memory.
  9. interesting. Expert Mardi thought it was a "shit bet" on the other site. Paid $1.70 on the tote. I would expect they are more than happy with the result.
  10. Unlike when Lisa stuck to the fence and got the run through inside of Danielle at Awapuni last week (again beating Danielle on the favourite) on Bonham again. I went over to Awapuni to have two bets Bonham and Wononeohwon both trained by Johnno and Holly. Pretty nervous at the 250m when Lisa was looking for the run but it came and she squeezed through on the fence to win nicely. Unfortunately Wononeohwon was late scratched at the barrier in the last so had to wait seven days until Trentham on Saturday to get the desired result. Only bet for the day. Rapt for Johno and Holly that Bonham was able to back up and win the G1.
  11. From several sources that he is on a retainer. From memory even David Ellis himself has confirmed somewhere along the line. Wouldn't have a clue if Aiden Rodley as his agent anything or not. Could depend on who negotiated it?
  12. So the village narcissist has placed the following on the other site: " On 1/13/2021 at 8:06 PM, mardigras said: I assess chance ignoring jockey, and over the last 10 years, he has won 40 races less than I've assessed the chances of his mounts. That is quite significant. Of course, you may just say my assessments are shit. However Betfair are on record as suggesting my assessments are rare in regards the overall assessment ability from their collective customers. Since some asked who I would prefer to Bosson, If I had the choice of jockey for any race - these would be some I would consider (in no order) T Harris L Allpress A Comignaghi J Fawcett D Johnson H Tinsley H Andrews S Weatherley R Schofer J Parkes Jockeys such as O Bosson S Wynne K Asano I would not put on. I'd likely be happy with most of them in being able to ride without sacrificing chance. The top ones are less likely to affect the price of my runner. Obviously in a G1, S Wynne and K Asano are less likely to affect price as well. So that list is in general. My view is that Bosson gives me no advantage (in winning the race) from his riding to many jockeys. That's my opinion of course. I'd expect there are many jockeys that would have the strike rate of Bosson if they had the rides he has. Again my opinion, and it is my assessment of his rides ignoring that he is riding them, is how I have come to that opinion. The ability to even try and do that objectively is something that is not able to be done by either the Chief or ATA. That is guaranteed. They are like the majority, look at results and determine therefore they are superior." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Well indeed it is just an opinion and yes many assessments would likely be shit. "Over 10 years he has won 40 races less than what I assessed the chances of his mounts." That is an average of four per year assuming those chances were assessed correctly and that is highly questionable and improbable that Mardi assessed everything 100%. Just because he rated the horse on top doesn't mean it is a top bet. I took time out this morning and looked at my figures which were actual bets placed and what I found was that on the horses that I have backed over the last five years that Opie Bosson rode, the win strike of those bets was 86.3%. I didn't realise that it was that high to be fair. Bear in mind as I have previously advised I only have a total of 130-150 bets per year. Just looking at the NZTR website including this year just now, over the last eight years his win strike rate is outstanding with a win in less than every five rides . By Mardi's admission last year in a discussion on betting he advised that 90% of your betting was on Australian and Northern Hemisphere racing and only about 10% on NZ racing (or figures in that vicinity) yet he professes to be an expert on NZ racing. Surely if Mardi had NZ racing completely dancing on a shoestring that percentage on NZ racing would be a massively higher. A pro like him would be cleaning up here surely. Just to show how out of touch he is he includes Hayden Tinsley who retired a couple of years ago and Holly Andrew who doesn't appear to be riding and not listed as a rider at NZTR in his list of riders of who he would put on. Good luck with that Mardi. Now I must get hold of David Ellis and advise him that according to Mardi his annual six figure retainer to Opie Bosson is a complete waste of money.
  13. Danielle is riding very well but it was a below par ride on Brando. Her last two rides on the card were excellent though. The mistake she made on Brando was not following Lisa Allpress on Bonham around when she went forward. She would have got a lovely run on Bonham's back and then slingshot her in the straight. Instead she stayed back and Lisa Allpress and Bonham established a winning break on Brando.
  14. NZTR REVISED PENALTY GUIDELINES FOR IMPROPER WHIP USE AND CARELESS RIDING (Issued under Rule 106 of the Rules of Racing) These revised guidelines come into force from 12:01 am on 9 December 2020. Prevailing circumstances prompted NZTR to consider revising the penalties imposed on riders who are found guilty of contravening the whip guidelines and who are found guilty of careless riding. After consulting with the participants of the racing industry NZTR has decided to adjust the penalty guidelines for careless riding or misuse of the whip. NZTR’s position continues to be that the excessive or improper use of the whip during racing is unacceptable (particularly where repeated) and must be denounced and discouraged by way of a penalty. The proposed adjustments are the starting point for penalties and more severe penalties may still be imposed should the circumstances warrant it. The revised penalty starting points for breaches of the whip Rules and careless riding Rules are as follows and supercede all previous guidelines in relation to these offences: 1. Whip Offences: 1st offence Starting point: $300 fine 2nd offence Starting point: $500 fine 3rd offence Starting point: $2,000 fine and a 2-day suspension 4th offence Starting point: 5-day suspension 2. Careless Riding: Low Range Starting point: $250 fine and a 4-day suspension Mid-Range Starting point: $500 fine and a 5-day suspension High Range Starting point: 9-day suspension
  15. BTW despite assertions on the other site I will categorically state that Chief and I are not one and the same person and nor do I post on the other site so they are off on the wrong tangent yet again. I only have a look over there now and again to see what rubbish they come up with next. 🤣
  16. The penalty is higher if the offence happens in a G1 race. Did he defend the charge? If so and found guilty an extra day is added. Also if your suspension record is poor over the last twelve months they can add extra for that also.
  17. That was a red herring that came up in discussion but was only a fraction of what they said. Go and have a re-read Freda of the whole thread. Btw If you had a choice would you put Tina on ten times before Opie, it was your horse Bazza was referring to.
  18. Haven't looked at that other site for awhile now as there is bugger all ever happening over there. But between races today decided to have a squizz to see if any dust had been moved. I haven't laughed so much for ages. The two resident clowns Mardi and his sycophant side kick Bazza have really taken the cake this time. Both their assholes are no doubt extremely jealous the amount of shit that comes out of their mouths. These two self promoted experts state that Opie is no better than other jockeys. Mardigras: He is just another rider Bazza: Agreed. He is the most chronically over rated rider in NZ. Tina (Comignaghi) who is riding my girl tomorrow I would have 10 times over him. (Where did she finish Bazza?) The ability level of Comignaghi is almost identical. These two experts on all matter racing reckon Opie Bosson is just a base ordinary rider no better than most others. Jesus wept: What planet do these two inhabit, it's surely not in the real world. FFS you idiots he has ridden more G1 winners than any other NZ rider with over 65 G1 wins and has 205 Group and Listed wins in NZ without adding in his overseas black type wins. How many G1 winners has Comignaghi ridden? She has a total of 6 black type wins in total probably all down the South Island I expect. Thank goodness bugger all people go to that site to read their garbage. Obviously neither has the ability to recognise class horsemanship skills. Still laughing....
  19. Sounds like everyone was on the moonshine.
  20. It was utterly shambolic. No one knew what was happening. Mickey Mouse happenings with an international audience looking on deep in bush country at a hillbilly meeting in the West Coast outbacks. Was the vet drinking moonshine all day or just tooka look over his shoulder whilst shagging his first cousin over the fence near the start that he couldn't detect anything wrong with the favourite. You say he studied vet science for five years Reefton, that may be so, but did he actually pass? i can't blame you for feeling embarrassed.
  21. Cmon T. Time to stop playing the sex card. Johnson & Harris have achieved far more and Harris is further contributing as apprentice riding master after over 50 years riding, finishing second in a Melbourne Cup as a 17yo apprentice, won numerous G1 races in a number of countries, won premierships in two countries and is a member of the 2000 Club here etc.
  22. Lisa Allpress named in New Years Honour's List for services to racing. Seriously!!!! I would have thought there are others that would rank far higher for such a recognition. Chris Johnson, Noel Harris etc etc
  23. Pretty ordinary show last night. All Radich had to offer was to rave on about banning the whip (has he ever ridden a horse), Levante and Wiremu Pinn. Hardly riveting stuff T. It was more a magazine type show if trivial stuff rather than any in depth analysis of the weekend racing. In your words it was more back pattin bum slappin telly and never a controversy raised...zzzzzzzz..
  24. Not sure I follow you here Freda. Sam is currently in 3rd place on the premiership. Last season she finished 3rd, the season prior she was 4th. She won the premiership in 2017/18 and the season before that was 6th.
  25. Firstly you can still ride at the trials when you are suspended. Looking at the trial results on the NZTR website he rode a couple of Baker - Forsman runners there.
