I have studied well today and if I don't get at least 4 winners then I will give up punting for rest of season
-
I got Boomer Bailey @3.70 Pyramid Magic @3.30 Clover Lou @7.50 Miss Big @3.60 All over odds I believe
-
If I don't get the last quaddie I think you will.Clover Lou over odds at the moment, especially with Colin driving
-
Will be a nice multi, like them both
-
R1-Rydgemont Son R2-De Lancome R3-Boomer Bailey R4-Taramakau Reactor R5-Pyramid Magic R6-Go Toddy R7-Clover Lou R8-Trailer Park Girl R9-Miss Big A few of these way shorter than they should be however have quite a few multis and if any 3 win will cover my bets,if all 9 win will be hugfe

Pete it depends what stage of their prep they at,i believe some they interval train and some they work fast.

Too much ability to stop.Has to keep persevering for another few starts,Needs to be put on unruly, there is noway I would have started him from barrier 1 the other day no matter how well behaved he been at workouts and home..If you went on horses early careers we wouldn't have had Blossom Lady,Hands Down or Basil Dean as they were all a wee bit wayward first handful of starts and never gave any hint of becoming the champions they did.Not saying Beragio will be a champion but has gone some very nice sectionals at trials and in his raceday 2nd to Old Oake Emma
-
Has said the biggest influence in his career has been the Allstars,he learnt how to see what individual horses needs are and how to feed hard and work them hard.Matts horses he has trained so far look ready and fit.Just like the Allstars.Despite some on here saying that he was shafted by Allstars Matt said he wouldn't have had the connections he has now without them and he knew he was only ever going to be number 4 stable driver. He seems to have a good head on him for a young fella

That comes as no surprise as family has a bad history of unsoundness.Shame as there been a couple that have looked as though they could have been superstars but have been hit with injurys
-
Couldn't be any worse than some of the Butcher boys up north. And if you ask anyone that drives for Allstars they will tell you they are never told what to do in a race,in fact when Blair recently drove for them he was only told that his horse can run a quarter in 26.But don't let the truth ruin your wee story about team driving guys. The fact is if you have the fittest horses with the most speed with the best drivers you are generally going to have all their horses wanting to get handy, hence why they quite often have first 4 in running with a lap to go. Just the same as Dex and John Dunn generally drive the better horses and are naturally positive drivers so quite often end up lead, trail

Yeah I remember when he was in Ashburton,it was pretty well known that he was milkshaking and the stable never denied it.Phil and George Burrows worked for him back then. The stable loved a punt too

On the back of a 56 last half close up 3rd at the trials.Went quite good and a repeat performance would see the $5 place as worth the risk.

Brodie I cant work out why in both instances of Bronsons misdemeanours he has not publicly given his side of the story, therefore can only be judged, rightly or wrongly, on the information provided which doesn't show him in good light.I seen him play a bit of rugby and a very talented player and hopefully will come back and not let this slip up hinder his future in the sport. However not sure if he will have a future in harness racing if he starts abusing people if he doesn't get his own way.He was no more entitled to lead than anybody else and has to learn to take the good with the bad.

That the trouble though Wally, the thought at the time was nobody said he didn't say it they just didn't here him say it, Also as some said what did the "victim"have to gain, nothing,so why make it up. I guess we will never know what was said and that the trouble with heat of the moment exchanges is sometimes exactly what was and wasn't said can be misconstrued and nobody can really remember.Especially after a head high tackle on a team mate.
-
Is that the winger that moved to Ashburton.
-
The victim and apparently a , few spectators,it was thought at the time that a couple of Waihora players may have, but they said they heard him say something but couldn't understand what.
-
Didn't the ref say that he heard Bronson say something but was too far away to hear if it was offensive or not,and while the Southbridge manager was one of the main witnesses their were a couple of spectators with Waihora connections that testified as well.Unfortunately for Bronson the abuse at Forbury was heard by a steward and members of the public, not a good look for him or the industry
-
Kingmaker should win race 2 as should Borntobeastar in race 6 but both will only be $2 shots While Rosies'Rob in race 3 and Pass the Speights in race 5 good place prospects
-
Came home quite nicely, and a nice wee divvie.I would say sort of horse that will be worth place betting for next few starts as well
-
Well Samantha Ottley may not have won the drivers challenge for me but anchoring Si Si Senor gave me a nice wee chunk of the quaddie..It allowed me to take 5 horses in the first leg and 6 in each of the other legs
-
Yep pastern,so I would imagine be out for 4-6 months. Shame as would have added a lot of interest to cup
-
The stake is represented in the field.Probably best horses racing at the moment but still a poor bunch

Maida million was a great horse, Was great money back then. When I got my treble I was only earning $90 a week.I bought a nice car but wrote it off after a week with no insurance Put it in a ditch early one morning when drunk as a skunk.Stupid f...n idiot was what the old man called me.

A wee horse called Trevira got me hooked on gambling and Harness racing.Dad had been a long time harness and galloping follower and punter and when I was very young I used to love going to the races,We used to collect all the old tickets people used to chuck away then dad would go through them and give us half.He was going through them one day and found one for $10p on Trevira that paid quite a bit.I decided to keep my share and spend it on Trevira next time it started.Dad told me it was racing so I looked and seen it in 2nd leg of double so got Dad to take $2 of field in first leg, back then we had to go and exchange for the 2nd leg in doubles, well a roughy rolled in and Trevira won 2nd leg and collected a shit load. Was about 9 yo and just won more than Dad was earning in a month.Mum opened a bank account for me and put money in but put her foot down and said I not allowed to bet any more but dad would still bet for me occasionally but just a few dollars a week.I always backed Trevira after that and it was like a we money making machine for me with numerous placings. Trevira will always have a spot in my racing heart. As will a horse called Millions and Millions who I used to work when I worked in stables. One day at Oamaru I got a bucks worth of a $7800 treble with 2 horses of Dick Prendergasts I think Worthy Adios driven by Greg Tait(our former stable worker),Patchy Boy driven by Kerry Oreilly(our blacksmith) and of course our stable runner Millions and Millions.Once again I had to get dad to collect as I had only just turned 16.Great memories
