Greg worked for Colin Defillipi many years ago.While I would suggest that Greg was an average driver he was a very hard working and likeable fella and a great student of the game,and has obviously used these traits to become,along with Nina, a very astute trainer. Young Ben has improved out of sight as a driver the last few months and has become very competent and confident.I was one of his biggest critics after a few very average drives but he has learnt and adjusted and I can see a big future for him.He can also analyse a race very well going by his interviews I have seen The stable is a credit to the industry and they deserve every success they get

Seems weird to me that he would wait for 36 hours after run to take bloods.Surely the sooner you take bloods the more accuracy comparing the results to the performance. I see that other more switched on trainers took bloods on Sunday.

Doug pulled up at Tinwald tavern one day after Ashburton trials with horse float on as usual. Once he had got his jug and settled down one of the locals asked him how his horse went. All of a sudden Doug got up flew out the door hopped in his car with float on back done a u turn and disappeared.In a while he arrived back at Tavern with float still on car.Same joker said where did you go in a hurry Doug.His reply was I realised I left the horse and sulky at the racecourse.
